    Game is fine had fun playing it, for it being a solo developer it is impressive and he has a bright bright future ahead of him. Charles looks great, had fun with the encounters with him and the train customisation was fun with collecting all the paint cans and upgrading. The biggest issue for me is the price nearly £20 for a game that can be completed in under 2 hours isn't worth it price should be £10 at most. I really had fun with this game and am eager to see what the future hold for both this series and this developer. I recommend when it is on sale or if the developer decides to reduce the price.… Expand

    When you look at other games with similar scores, all I have to ask is what were the critics smoking? A 55 for video games basically means the game is borderline broken. This game is fantastic! it's fun! I felt like there was a lot to do, I loved the story, the villain and the train.

    the game is cool, there are several moments where you feel distress when being chased! however the negative point of the game is the lack of facial expression on the NPC and the monster that is crap a TRAIN with SPIDER PAWS

    This game was a lot of fun. Yes the game can drag at times but most of the time its fast pasted fun. My only real gripe about the game is the story isn't very well told it's good but it's more telling not enough showing hopefully this just get improved with a possible sequel in a few years.

    Any successful solo dev game is a 10 in my book, was a blast through and through.
    I'd like to see reviewers make a better game, only then they can leave such god awful scores on a passion project.

    I never felt a low in this game. I was always either on the edge of my seat, or laughing at "Bob". The stealth sections felt kind of out of place but were still fun cause of the ability to lead them out and kill the guys with my train, or actually try to stealth my way around the guys only to inevitably be caught. Upgrading your train and getting new weapons felt great and I never had a moment where getting scrap felt like a chore. I completed every side mission and it was totally worth it except Ronny's where you have to climb this stupid tower it was horrible and you get like 1 scrap out of it. Overall incredible first game from this developer and I look forward to seeing what they create in the future. (I do not count "No snake hotel")… Expand

    Ok ok here me out, you take Thomas the train, and then you take a random spider, BAM new video game.
    Honestly this game pretty cool it is kinda slow at some parts, the Charles fight gets kinda repetitive at a certain point, some of the fetch quests are boring, but its still pretty good. Remember ONE GUY made this. I really love the creativity and the character personalities.     How do you give this a 4?? It's a horror indie game made by ONE dude. For what it is, it's fantastic, I'd put it up there with Witch Hunt when it comes to monster hunter games. Only gripe is the price, 5 bucks less and you're golden for a short little horror experience.

    If you are looking for a walking simulator, I think this will be your favourite game.

    The game basicaly consists of walking from A to B. The side quests are quite boring and repetitive, the enemies arent as scary as they are supposed to be, the stealth sections are a pain in the ass and overall the npcs are void and broken.     Le pongo un 3 por el precio, esto no cuesta ni de lejos 20€, el desarrollador se esta aprovechando de todos los fans que creo con sus trailers y videos mientras creaba el juego para poner un precio mas alto en mi opinión.

    Great, Fun and unique indie game, epically when it was made by basically one person. Sad to see that critics like IGN take the reviewing way to seriously for a game this scale. Would recommend 100% for people who want to have a fun time where they're constantly on edge. 10/10. Gavin, you should extremally proud of what you've created.     Game is about 2hrs long. And 4 main story line quests which are stealth missions. Poorly implemented stealth missions at that. The others are fetch quests low effort at that, which consist of you going to one location and getting a item and running back with next to no combat or jump scares.

    So your experience may be better than mine, but for a game thats main villain barely ever makes an appearance thats kinda sad.

    You have no guns while off the train and the NPC goons can be lured back to the train for you to kill them. Which makes the stealth missions easily cheesed.

    No voice-line animations topped off with barely anything to do makes the game feel like an tech demo instead of a full game. It's a streamer bait game for sure running on a boiler full of hype. Maybe it will live up to its price tag one day, who knows, its not labeled as early access and the dev is making no promises to continue fleshing this game out.

    Great idea, poor implementation, needs more time to cook and I can't recommend this game for its $20 price tag when other single dev games have already set a standard for what a $20 single dev game should be.    … Expand

    Мне реально обидно, я ждал игру, разраб делал её несколько лет, и ради чего? Получился чисто прикол для ютуба, просто прикол, которого хватает на пару секунд или на 1 скриншот, тут реально неплохая концепция открытого мира, где если ты далеко отойдёшь от поезда - тебя сожрёт монстр, который также может напасть на ваш поезд на ходу,
    Но сделано всё максимально примитивно, все задания открытого мира - это просто принеси подай из 1 места в другое, по дороге ходи кликай, фарми хлам, разбросанный повсюду, на него ты можешь прокачать урон/броню/скорость поезда - всё, это весь геймплей) Проходится часа за 2-3. Все, Асболютно все задания - это просто симулятор ходьбы с парой раскиданных пропов+1 клик мыши, и ещё можно вскрывать сундуки в простейшей мини-игре "попади в кружок". Сюжет в том, что вы приехали на остров убить странное существо, в итоге вы узнаёте о 3 яйцах, которые охраняют культисты Чарльза, которые надо собрать и призвать босса на алтаре, про персонажей и записки даже говорить смешно.

    И последний гвоздь в крышку гроба добаивает то, что бои с Чарльзом не вызывают никакого СТРАХА, НИКАКОГО, ЛЮДИ, никакой атмосферы, кстати, тоже.
    Какие 700 рублей, чел, разраб, ты оло там? Ты итак ютубер, ты итак разрекламишь игру, зачем так ограничивать аудиторию. Я порекомендовал бы это максимум для мобилок или в бесплатном виде. Про 20 долларов я вообще молчу.
    Плохая оптимизация и микрофризы тоже присутствуют, если это имеет какое-то значение помимо остального.

Human animation 0 points, world 0 points, game mechanics 0 points, mobs 0 points, plot 0 points. Everything in it is boring, remarkable, including the plot, ahh a lot of Charlie's eggs, what a great ending.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. El Juego tiene originalidad y diversión por una cuantas horas pero como cualquier cosa no es perfecto
    Hablemos de lo bueno, Originalidad, divertido, terror ocasional, buenos gráficos, animación y un lore decente
    Ahora hablemos de lo malo, Bugs menores, ocasionalmente(muy poco, casi nulo) caídas de fps
    el precio de 10 USD(Calidad/Precio 5/10), duración pequeña, misiones poco memorables, Personajes poco memorables(En general nada es memorable, solo Eugene), Mapa realmente pequeño, Forma muy especifica de los encuentros con charles(Esta hecho para que lo encuentres cuando mejoras 3 niveles del tren o hagas una acción importante, muchos juegos hacen este tipo de cosas pero aquí con este estilo de juego se ejecuta bastante mal pues al aparecer por ejemplo después de conseguir un huevo te lo vas a encontrar en la salida de la cueva provocando que la supervivencia sea imposible, Rara vez te salvas si es que de milagro no te da y llegas al tren), El final es extremadamente fácil, Charles Infernal morirá con menos de 20 cohetes.
    Opinión: El juego esta muy decente esta muy lejos de un 8/10 pero el juego realmente se disfruta, si costara menos o sus personajes y misiones fueran memorables mejoraría mucho. Solo espero que si el creador decide sacar una segunda entrega(Probablemente lo haga por los huevos que se vieron al final) sea mucho mas elaborada. En conclusión si tienes el dinero cómpralo pero si no lo tienes tampoco te pierdes de mucho.

    If you're looking for a quick new indie game to play, Choo Choo Charles is the way to go. With this being a solo project that works with 0 bugs, I have high hopes for this dev in the future. The battles with Charles are always fun, especially the final one. The price should be cut in half, I completed the game in 2 and a half hours. Overall really fun experience.

    This game has no use button. All E does is rotate the camera to the right. There is no use button. A terrible game that is impossible to progress in.

The map is beautiful, it has tons of little secrets and Easter eggs, and the railway tracks are well thought out. Stealth, however, is not this game's strong suit. The cult members' AI is pretty dumb, and when it sees you, it locks onto you for good.     Choo-Choo Charles is more than just a funny idea about a demonic spider train. There is solid gameplay at the heart of this game – it certainly isn’t a world beater and it’s only three hours long but as a horror one-shot with a blend of fun and action, it works surprisingly well.

    Choo-Choo Charles is short and flawed, but you can give it a chance if you enjoy silly, kitsch horrors that are a motley of bizarre ideas which miraculously work together in some absurd way. Not for a full price though.

    Choo Choo Charles reminds me of a movie by Full Moon Studios - like Demonic Toys, Hideous, or Head of the Family, it’s an entertaining “what if?” concept that just isn’t enough to support an entire piece of media. With basic gameplay comparable to any number of low budget horror titles, it’s a fun idea and absolutely nothing besides. I wish it had more to offer, but like so many joke games before it, we already got the punchline when we saw the trailer and there’s nothing the gameplay adds on top of it. To be brutally honest, Choo Choo Charles would have been better as a fake game, or at the very least nothing would have changed if it was.
