Incredible game with amazing music and graphics. The story is really interesting and I'm rally into it. Can't wait to play the third part. Some puzzles are not logical, but overall it's a great adventure game. Maybe a little bit to short. It maybe a good idea to wait until they finish 3rd episodeand sell all three episodes in one pack.

Amazing game with lots of personality! Puzzles sometimes have illogical solutions but in hindsight I just needed to be more observant. The creators are great at adding more and more layers of depth to puzzles so the first solution you come up with is only a part of it. I love how fresh every puzzle is, they never recycle elements. Rufus seemed like a total ass in the first one but I'm really starting to like him and root for him, even if he's still an ass. Again the only issue with this series is some mismatch between audio and subtitles but it barely takes away from the experience since it only happens once or twice, pretty good for a translated game. A real gem for adventure games. Expand

The sequal to the first game (Deponia). I recommend that you play the first game, and if you already have and you're reading this, what the hell are you waiting for? Go play Chaos on Deponia! :)

An amazing sequel to Deponia. Game is long and everything that I ever liked in original is improved. More characters, more locations, more puzzles, more humor, and ofcourse, even more junk.

Well, I really liked this game, even more than Deponia. The storyline is great, and the writing is fantastic. The puzzles are also much better than Deponia, which had a few puzzles that were basically impossible without a walkthrough - there was still a few ridiculous puzzles, but not nearly as many. My only other complaint is that, like Deponia, the ending feels rushed and unresolved. Hopefully the final game in the trilogy will not be like that. I don't think I'd have paid $20 for this, but I don't regret paying $10 for it, and at $5 it would be a must-buy. Expand

I played through first Deponia, and liked it a lot. Chaos on Deponia is better: first of all, sound is fixed, so it doesn't suddenly jump up a dozen decibels. Secondly, puzzles now are a little harder, and more interesting. Thirdly, the game is longer or so it seems to me. Still loving the professional translation humor if funny and enjoyable. Good game. Reminds me of Monkey Island. Brings back memories. Good puns, jokes, insults.

The last third of the game had unintuitive puzzles but I would still say that it was worth it.

More of the first and a lot of fun aswell. Clearly this new company should be watched for what else the might be making and I can't wait for the final conclusion about Deponia on what might happen. Hopefully, it will be a brilliant, but also fun ending

"Chaos on Deponia" is the second point-and-click game in Deponia series. It features a goofy protagonist, Rufus. He still lives on a garbage filled planet Deponia, from which he always plans to escape. Rufus is a walking disaster. You can expect water to catch fire when Rufus is around. PROS:
    - Pretty and colorful cartoon graphics.
    - Humour: edgy, sarcastic, sometimes dark.
    - Good voice acting.
    - Decent story: with love, deception, mystery and revolution.
    - Balanced difficulty.
    - Cool locations.
    - Interesting characters (Bozo, Toni, Goal, The Revolutionists).
    - Classic point-and-click feel.

    MEH:
    - You get to visit some locations quite often, which makes background music somewhat annoying.
    - Some animations are sort of lazy. But that's to be expected from an Indie game with limited budget.

    CONS:
    - Some puzzles are not so intuitive, you may require walkthrough (I had to use it about 4 times).

If you enjoy classic adventure games, "Chaos on Deponia" is just for you. It's not a masterpiece, but is good and you won't regret spending 10 hours to complete it.

One of my favorite classical Point’n’Click adventures. I’m a long time adventure player and people calling the puzzles of this game illogical or too hard probably have never touched Lucas Arts classics like Monkey Island or Grim Fandango.

Quite on the contrary the puzzles are logical, cleverly implemented and always have a reasonable solution as long as you pay attention. If you need a walkthrough it’s very probably because you overread, overheard or overlooked something. On top of the stellar puzzle design the world of Deponia is incredibly charming, funny and the game length is great for a point and click adventure.

In that vein I was really shocked to read from another 10 star (!) reviewer he “wouldn’t have paid $20 for this game". With this attitude creeping in everywhere - If the price of 2 movie tickets for 10+ hours of excellent, enjoyable gaming time is already too much for many (despite giving the game top score) - it’s no wonder that Daedalic (as of February 2018) and many others have stopped developing point and click adventure games altogether and even we PC players more and more get cursed with microtransactions and free 2 play cr@p.

This is how modern point&clicks should look like (at least in my opinion). The beautiful hand-drawn art style, engaging story, fun-to-play puzzles.
I personally adore the world design. There is a bit of absurd, humor and tragedy in this Monkey Island or Terry Pratchett style.
The only downside of the great point&click game is the main character. Oh, how I hate Rufus. A must-play for any

It's those games that I have to recommend to you
Those that make you enjoy a good story and fabulous characters

This title, as well as all the other ones in the saga share a handful of characteristics that make them the best modern-era point-and-click games, they are:

-Beautifully crafted puzzles which are very satisfying to complete
-Very well-made character personalities (Lottie, Toni, Bozo, Cletus and McChronicle to name just a few)
-Really good ambientation, both in the post-apocalyptic Deponia as in the utopic Elysium
-Rufus and Goal make a pretty silly and somewhat adorable couple
I honestly find no way in which any human being could play Deponia and not enjoy it other than if they dislike point-and-click adventure games as a whole.

It is rare to see in these times a graphic adventure point and click and above at this level. A good story with hints of humor, charismatic characters and crazy puzzles. 100% recommended for lovers of the genre.

Chaos on Deponia is too similar to the first episode and too limited to its classic structure to get a better score. A good adventure, but it lacks in pace and brilliance.

As the second part of a trilogy, Chaos on Deponia does exactly what it needs to do, and it does it well enough. There's some story progression here, as well as character advancement to help flesh things out. It's too bad that the advancement comes very late into the game, leaving the player with a somewhat alternate take on the original tale instead. The presentation holds up very well, and the adventure is humorously entertaining.

Chaos on Deponia delivers some laughs, but on the downside the puzzles are illogical and the main character is a total jerk. With better story and some added logic, this extremely beautiful point'n'clicker would've been so much better. If you want challenge, this is your game. For those of who appreciate solid story-telling, you better keep looking. [March 2013]
