    Masterpiece of a game in terms of raw skillful gameplay. If you choose to play only for the story mode you are just sratching the surface. B-sides, C-sides and the free DLC that came out a while ago make up for the game itself. The difficulty and therefore satisfaction one gets after clearing the hard levels are beautiful. Easily one of the best games i have ever played

    I have never played such a good platformer since pizza tower and I believe this game tops that. This game is so perfect, it's like when you die you don t feel upset or angry you just get more determination to continue.
    Very good game would recomend

    A fun platformer experience that’s definitely challenging, but makes you feel incredible when you’re finally able to zip through some of the more difficult sections. The story is pretty good but made me feel like I’d need to watch a lore video to understand the game’s symbolism (apparently it’s a trans allegory, but as a trans person I never understood that interpretation). They really haven't finished the game yet, but I ashore you, this is great in every direction. There even is an assist mode so you can focus more on the story. Just buy the game already or look at a Youtube review what are you doing here… Expand

    Over 5 years ago, I completed this game using a keyboard, and I recall struggling and failing multiple times on each level. Despite my frustration and exhaustion, the game's engaging gameplay and captivating storyline kept me going. The music still resonates in my ears. This platform game holds a special place among my favorites.

    ¿Celeste está sobrevalorado? Sí. ¿Es un juegazo? También. Seamos sinceros, Celeste es un juegazo en toda regla. Entiende su género y pule sus simples y tan buenas mecánicas en una experiencia más o menos corta y desafiante. Jugablemente, es sublime.     ¿Celeste está sobrevalorado? Sí. ¿Es un juegazo? También.

    Seamos sinceros, Celeste es un juegazo en toda regla. Entiende su género y pule sus simples y tan buenas mecánicas en una experiencia más o menos corta y desafiante.

    Jugablemente, es sublime. Los controles son híper fluidos (incluso para un plataformas) y sus mecánicas giran en torno al dash, que lo aprovechan de maneras muy curiosas. El diseño de niveles es increíble, se adecúa a los dashes y a los saltos milimétricos para avanzar o conseguir fresas (el mayor coleccionable del juego), ofreciendo una dificultad que si bien es muy alta, no llega a frustrar y de hecho motiva a seguir jugando. Además, los niveles tienen muchas rutas secretas o no son 100% lineales, por lo que no se siente como un plataformas genérico.

    Visualmente, es bastante bonito y el soundtrack es de locos. Me gustaría encontrar alguna de sus canciones en Youtube y ponerla en mi playlist.

    Pero sin duda lo que más me ha sorprendido gratamente es su historia y sus personajes. Empatizas muchísimo con todos y presenta una historia profunda para un juego de su género. A mí parecer, la protagonista acaba entendiendo que tiene que convivir con su parte mala y que puede hacerla más fuerte. Tiene momentos bastante cómicos, que te sacarán una sonrisa a la vez que momentos impactantes que nos dejarán pensando sobre los personajes.

    Celeste no me ha parecido esa obra maestra de la que todo el mundo habla, pero me ha parecido un muy buen juego que se entiende a sí mismo. Recomendadísimo.    … Expand

    i was nearly crying in my room for an hour, hopelessly repeating the same endgame level until i managed to achieve the perfect run which allowed me to progress to the next and harder endgame level.
    the satisfaction felt on that moment was undescribable
    10/10 game, must play.

    Fantastic exploration of dynamic platforming and mental health. If you want a game that'll test your skill as well as give you an insight into the struggles of mental health then this game is for you. Also the visuals and soundtrack are beautiful.

    One of the best platformer games i have ever played. the platforming is phenomenal. the visuals are pretty nice to look at, nothing amazing but i like the 8/16 bit style. and the soundtrack is also amazing. my biggest complaint with this game would be the secrets. sometimes its like you HAVE to search up a walkthrough online especially for the crystal hearts. but besides that its anOne of the best platformer games i have ever played. the platforming is phenomenal. the visuals are pretty nice to look at, nothing amazing but i like the 8/16 bit style. and the soundtrack is also amazing. my biggest complaint with this game would be the secrets. sometimes its like you HAVE to search up a walkthrough online especially for the crystal hearts. but besides that its an amazing platformer… Expand

Celeste is a great platformer that can still be fun at low skill levels(except the 9th chapter, but we don’t talk about that). I found this to be great fun. The community’s mods are just amazing. I hope more games this kind of quality are made in the future.… Expand

    Most annoying and overrated game ever. Basically, on every screen you have to break your fingers in order to perform impossible jump sequences using horrible controls. Keyboard or Controller doesn't matter, both suck and it is pure luck when you finally finish a screen. On to the next...which is even more horrible. And if that wasn't already enough, they add time pressure and enemies that follow you crazily fast.

    There are big "screens" which are actually several screens you scroll through. And guess what, when you fail in such a big screen, you always start at the beginning. Needless to say that the jumps required are crazy hard and when I say pixel-perfect, I really mean pixel-perfect.

    I thought this would be a nice platformer, but it actually is a "Try each screen 100 times until you make it" simulator. That's all what the devs are capable of.

    You have to try each screen so many times that it is just annoying.

    Dialogues are very simple, actually not very creative. Could be written by a 15 year old high school student.

    I don't know but this game seems extremely overrated. It is ok, but that's it. I will suffer through it because I never quit a game.

    Graphics and sound are good though. But the basic concept of platforming and trying 100 times just sucks.    … Expand

    Incredibly hard, incredibly well-designed, incredible. If you are a game designer and want to learn how to improve the "teaching" design in your game, try Celeste.

Smooth and fun to master controls, phenomenal soundtrack, both charming and beautiful writing, incredible level design...minus core. Core and a couple of b-sides are really the only reason this game isn't a 10/10 for me. but besides those, nearly everything about this game is done to perfection. and the art, holy hell! theTalk about a fantastic experience, this game excels in every facet. Smooth and fun to master controls, phenomenal soundtrack, both charming and beautiful writing, incredible level design...minus core. Core and a couple of b-sides are really the only reason this game isn't a 10/10 for me. but besides those, nearly everything about this game is done to perfection. and the art, holy hell! the art of this game is damn-near perfection, the pixel art of the actual game play merges so well with the non-pixel art UI, the map looks absolutely great.     This game its a true 10/10 It history simple but deep, his graphics are beautifull and the mechanics are the most strong point of the game
    Farewell has the Best music and one of the Best dlc ever created

    A stylish pixelated platformer that is easy to learn but hard to master, control is very responsive and good story. you will died a lot tho, and no shame in that. The best part is there almost zero second death screen, making it very unpunishing.

    The free DLC is almost only for hardcore player and speedrunner, so dont pull your hair out if you cant beat it, just have fun. but also dont give up

    Criativity, nice gameplay, good control . The soundtrack is wonderful, and the difficulty is challenging, but fair.Except the additional stages, 8 and 9, B and C parts, that´s a challenge, one of the hardest challenge in a game, but perfect.

    Celeste has a lot going for it: virtuoso level design, top notch pixel art, fantastic chiptune soundtrack, an overall smart design, huge speedrunning potential and some deeper meaning (climbing the mountain as a metaphor of overcoming depression). Be aware though that it requires flawless precision and you will count your deaths in thousands. [04/2018, p.53]
