Aug 12, 2024Cat Quest III from developer The Gentlebros is perfection. It’s a fun and fast game that has a complicated backend to keep the gameplay interesting. Its mixture of gameplay elements, from ships to dungeons, keeps it engaging and fun throughout the entire experience.
-
Aug 12, 2024All in all, Cat Quest III is simply fantastic. It’s got a vibrant world, fun action, a solid story, and, of course, pirate cats, all wrapped together in a package that should entice anyone.
-
Aug 17, 2024I loved my time with Cat Quest 3. Exploration is joyful, combat is a lot of fun and the story is silly and charming in all the right ways. If you want a small but dense pirate adventure full of good humor, Cat Quest 3 is for you.
-
Aug 7, 2024Cat Quest 3 pulls off a balancing act that few games manage to. It is accessible enough for nearly anyone to jump in while being fun and engaging enough for players who prefer more mechanically dense RPGs to still have a ton of fun. It is oversaturated with personality and charm, making every minute of playing it filled with something funny, interesting, or unique.
-
Aug 7, 2024Cat Quest 3 is a near purrfect action RPG, with engaging combat, a gorgeous world to explore and loads of side quests to dive into.
-
Aug 6, 2024A couple unfortunate issues aside, Cat Quest III is still a wonderfully fun, cheeky and utterly packed pirate adventure. Not only did it tell a compelling story with resonant themes, but it made me more of a fan of open-world games. Even though I haven’t played any other games in the series, you can bet I’m a fan of it now. I’d recommend you all join me on the hype train as well, because it looks like we haven’t even reached the midway point to this charming little series.
-
Sep 12, 2024Cat Quest III is a short, fun game with simple but interesting combat that will keep you occupied for a few evenings. While largely a standalone, there are plenty of nods to the previous games in the series.
-
Sep 9, 2024Cat Quest III builds upon its predecessor, making it an even more enjoyable experience. Quite charming and fun to play, especially if you bring a buddy for some cooperative pirate action! Too bad it does not last a tad bit longer. Either way, it’s a relaxing blast to play through.
-
Aug 13, 2024Cat Quest III stands true to its purrsonality. It's a fun, cute, happy game very much needed in the current indie scene.
-
Aug 12, 2024Cat Quest 3 is a simple but exciting action RPG that forgoes the typical epic scale of the genre to focus on short, unique challenges. But while it’s certainly great for short play sessions, its length (about 10 hours), fun recurring characters, and satisfying player progression make it worthwhile beyond those sprouts of action.
-
Aug 7, 2024While staying true to its small-scale, casual approach, Cat Quest 3 avoids the trap of overloading content to create an open world. Instead, it offers a highly flexible exploration experience. In addition, the game further enhances the equipment system, allowing for clearer role specialisation when playing in co-op mode.
-
Aug 7, 2024It's not the most mechanically complex game, has a middling and quite forgettable core storyline, and it's over in a flash, but otherwise this is a delightful and charming title that will effortlessly entertain for a few evenings.
-
Aug 6, 2024Cat Quest 3 impressed us above all with its cute look and its simple but very fun gameplay.
-
Aug 6, 2024I don’t think Cat Quest III is going to blow anyone away, but I think it is entirely worthy to be in this franchise. Do you like fun action RPG games that focus on solid, simple game mechanics? Do you like cats? Do you enjoy exploring and finding things to do in the world, searching around for a bit, and then going through the game again? Then you’re going to get your money’s worth and more from Cat Quest III. In other words, like its predecessors, the game might be uncomplicated, but it’s the cat’s meow.

Aug 6, 2024Aside from those moments when you have to grind, Cat Quest 3 is a cute, breezy experience that shows why making more of these has been a good idea. And there are hints of plenty more to come, which is exciting considering how much playing with the setting has been established. The writing remains simple but fun and silly, and the number of secrets and side activities has grown a lot. There’s a winning formula here, and so long as the series doesn’t get too ahead of itself, there’s plenty of potential for Cat Quest 3 as a springboard to even greater adventures.
-
Aug 6, 2024Cat Quest 3’s style is its calling card, but the surprise comes from its addictive and unexpectedly deep gameplay systems and mechanics. It’s a full-fledged ARPG with cat and pirate trappings. Fans of felines and suckers for swashbucklers of any age should enjoy the adventure. Cat Quest 3 releases on August 8–International Cat Day.
-
Sep 18, 2024Overall, I found this nine-hour jaunt to be superior to Cat Quest II, which already wasn’t a bad game. As I suggested earlier, all the developers had to do was beef up the game slightly, which they did. This is the definitive comfy game that you can play with a spouse, friend, or child. If this trajectory is any indication of what the developers can accomplish with the series, I’m eager to see what they do next.
-
Aug 12, 2024Although it has it's charm, there is little substance to this cat based pirate game. It is a game decidedly marketed at young children.
