    Being in the industry, i know that it's hard and long to make a game. That is even more true of indy games. People compare indy developers to triple A developers when there is absolutely no comparison to be made. It's a difference between a team of 20 and a team of 400. Triple A developers make a game in 3 years, indy developers like this one make a game in 7 years. Do the math.

    I am one of the backers that funded them on Kickstarter (this was back when everybody was so naïve about Kickstarters and would back anything and everything, thinking they owned what they backed). I took Castle Story for a spin right when it came out in early access, it wasn't great so i thought "let's wait until it comes out for real". And i'm glad i waited, because the game is actually good.

    The gameplay is quite fun, the art is amazingly cute and nice and the sound design is top of the line. The game music is entertaining. The voice of the bricktrons are quite funny, as the name of the bricktons are. There is a lot of genuine indy love put in this game.

    This said, there are cons. The UI is sometimes hard to see, the user experience is really really harsh at the beginning. It's hard figuring out why your bricktons are not doing what you told them to do. This makes the learning curve quite steep for the first five hours of gameplay. I rage quitted 3 or 4 times, but always got back to it, after figuring out what i was doing wrong. This gives the game a Klei kind of feeling, for those who played Don't Starve, Invisible Inc and the like.

    This said, it's not a 10, as is most Klei games. It's not an 9, because the bad user experience sometimes feels like a bug instead of feeling like a challenge. So i give it an 8. An honest 8, as most of the user reviews of games are either 10 or 0, hence completely dishonest.    … Expand

    In july 2012, Castle Story was funded on Kickstarter; I was one of the backers.
    In september 2013, it was put on Steam, without any progress of note. It was buggy, lacking in content, and crashed a lot.
    In october 2015, I started it up again, and noticed some minor improvements. The base was still the same, no major additions or improvements had been made. In july 2017, I started it up    In july 2012, Castle Story was funded on Kickstarter; I was one of the backers.

    In july 2017, I started it up again. Apparently, it took them two years to add a save function, and make some minor improvements. Nothing major, again.

    I'd say this game went the way of Towns and Godus; the dev's effectively stopped development, as the initial money-grab tactic worked.    … Expand

    Castle Story is the worst Building game at this time.
    The game graphics is simple (polygon design) but running really worst on any system (from low to high-end). And it's worse than Cities Skyline.
    The game has a stupid controlling system which make people hard to perform. (eg. cutting tree, collecting,...)
    What are they thinking to made this scrap?!

    It's a Fun brick building game with cute graphics, and an addictive building creative loop. it's fully gameplay oriented, and it does well in that regard but it's light on story. The U. I. is wonky, and has a very Independent feel to it. All in all, it does something no one else does and it does it in a unique way, on an indie Budget.

    I backed the game on Kickstarter and followed the    It's a Fun brick building game with cute graphics, and an addictive building creative loop. it's fully gameplay oriented, and it does well in that regard but it's light on story. The U. I. is wonky, and has a very Independent feel to it. All in all, it does something no one else does and it does it in a unique way, on an indie Budget.

    I backed the game on Kickstarter and followed the development closely. the junior team of dev bit of more than they could chew. then they chewed it anyway. took some time, But they got it done and it's a fun game that does something no one else does. Try it out, it's fun!    … Expand

    Очень скудная на контент, жутко оптимизированная однообразная игра. У разработчиков была неплохая идея, но не хватило таланта чтобы ее развить.

    Antes de começar gostaria de falar que castle stroy está na minha lista de jogos mais legais que joguei porém até eu que me emociono com o jogo odeio ele em alguns quesitos. CastleStory um jogo que tem o objetivo de construir um castelo e defende-lo de inimigos (coruptrons), esse jogo primeiramente falando tem muito potencial porém ele peca muito na inteligência artificial tanto é que 2Antes de começar gostaria de falar que castle stroy está na minha lista de jogos mais legais que joguei porém até eu que me emociono com o jogo odeio ele em alguns quesitos. CastleStory um jogo que tem o objetivo de construir um castelo e defende-lo de inimigos (coruptrons), esse jogo primeiramente falando tem muito potencial porém ele peca muito na inteligência artificial tanto é que 2 desses 5 pontos são devido a isso, como sempre digo jogos dependem muito de vário fatores para poder serem bons castle story tem vários fatores para ele ser bom como é o caso da dinâmica dele ele apresenta um objetivo básico porém que diverte por bastante tempo ele é um jogo de construção então é normal que não tenha muito bem uma história ou lore mas eu com certeza aumentaria um ponte se tivesse ao menos uma explicação ou sentido dos coruptrons quererem derrotar os bricktrons.
    Bom 2 pontos pela inteligência artificial dos coruptrons e dos bricktrons e bugs é claro, bom esse jogo apresenta milhares de bugs mas não vou falar muito deles já que a desenvolvedora é de fato pequena e nós jogadores sentimos que ela está tentando melhorar o jogo, bom a inteligência artificial é triste ou melhor falando é motivo de depressão, brincadeira, bom enquanto jogava este jogo os bricktrons literalmente resolviam por algum motivo dar a volta no mapa para colocar o bloco que estava na frete dele isso é o que eu sofria quando jogava ele os coruptros cavavam buracos e ficavam presos neles por Exemplo: na wave 60 coruptrons cavaram um buraco e ficaram lá até eu ter que fazer uma enorme escada e diversos túneis até que consigui matar eles isso acontecia frequentemente e de fato é lamentável, porém vou dar up o jogo tem um objetivo muito divertido que te fato te conquista construir uma castelo gigante derrotar os inimigos criar nova tropas e etc... transforma esse build game em uma aventura muito legal, porém esse é um ponto que talvez muitos não considerem ele relevante mas para mim que joguei as primeiras versões achava bem mais legal o método de poder spawnar diversos bricktrons sem limite isso de fato estraga um pouco o jogo já que quem quer tentar chegar na wave 100 ou 200 é quase impossível já que os brictrons e os recursos são meio que "limitados" e tem digamos um fim isso estraga bastante a aventura que diversos jogadores buscariam nesse jogo.
    Bom sempre falo que se você quer comprar o jogo o dinheiro é seu então você decide né, porém sério mesmo castle stroy tem muitos problemas mas tem um potencial imenso então na minha humilde opinião se você busca comprar o jogo espere uma promoção já que para mim o jogo definitivamente não vale R$ 45,99, mas o dinheiro é seu e você decide se quer comprar ele ou não mas é sério o preço não vale o tanto de bugs e problemas que ainda tem e é claro o real é um lixo então o preço também aumenta triste mas é a realidade. :)    … Expand

    The idea of the game is good, but has barely any content and the performance is bad. The map editor only has a few options and the multiplayer doesn't work at all. It was kind of fun for two hours.
