Had high hopes but the entire campaign feels disjointed and lacking focus, also the change from regenerating health to health packs whilst adding a level of difficulty does stop this feeling like a COD game and more like a Steam Unity knock off.

Multiplayer is meh, nothing different from the old World at War, lacks maps and game modes. My main problem with this supposed next generation

My main problem with this supposed next generation of maps is that they are no different than last gen, where is the dynamic settings? why cant there be a physical changes to the map randomly i.e. a battle on a sinking battleship or a war around you with buildings exploding? its just lazy and derriviative but compared to what Activision charges for season pass / map packs its just insulting!

Loot crates are obviously there, disgusting to have them opening on normandy batlefield in your "social area" and visable to all, there really isnt an "enough money earned here" is there!

Overall I feel more down on the franchise now than ever before, it needs to go away and have a high level rethink about COD's future as come next year, COD will not be a pre order or even a day one purchase for me!

I'm going to focus on the multiplayer part of this game, and I can sum it up in two words. Just awful.

From a technical standpoint this game is very poorly made. Not only are the player hitboxes worse in this game than any previous CoD I've played (just about all of them since MW), but the game itself is so buggy and hitchy my FPS go from 130 down to 40 and shoot right back up to 130.

I have also experienced shadow and texture pop-in, and more than one hard freeze.

Add to this the fact that it took 3 system reboots and finally a launch in safe mode just to get the game to launch to the main menu.

I am seriously disappointed with this game, seems like Activision doesn't really care about quality anymore so long as they can get a studio to crank out another installment every single year.

Sledgehammer games did an amazing job on MW3, it is to this day one of my favorite in the franchise (MW2 takes the top spot) but this installment just doesn't seem to live up to the quality I hav experienced in other Sledgehammer games.

I will say that the campaign was very good, and had what I thought was the best narrative of any CoD game in the last decade. I did play the campaign on the PS4 version however, as even with the lower fidelity and 30FPS, I had a noticeably more stable experience.

In the end it is the technical difficulties that ruined the experience for me.

50% of the phrases spoken by the characters contain "Zussman" (name of one of the characters), this really annoyed!! The whole story of the game is about this guy.

I noticed that the developers wanted to prioritize the multiplayer mode, which, in my opinion, should not even exist. And "Zombie Mode" is very rough.

The graphics are great. Gameplay without any innovation, is the same as the other modern CoD.

Anyway, I played because I'm a fan of the series, but no chance to play it again. I do not recommend it!

CoD: WWII does well in showing off cinematics and has solid and fun gameplay, but stops right there. Because the story is so bland this game could just as well be another plastic looking game where you're fighting some made-up terrorists like in some previous CoD-titles. CoD isn't trying to make you live through WWII, but trying to rob you of not only your money but also a hope of getting closer to WWII. The producers haven't done their research, they didn't care enough about a solid campaign. But hey, there's a nazi zombie mode!

I am not judging this game only because it has COD brand on it, by any means no. This game is one of the worst PC games in 2017 because it's not a game-only anymore. It's half a movie right now. So you get the objective, you go, do some shooting, throw grenades, boom - movie (infinte amount of cutscenes).

And the quotes in those cutscenes...my god...they are terrible. Seriously, cutscenes like those exist only in bad war movies - "you're long way from texas boy".....

Multiplayer is also nothing new - boring, monotonous, repetitive stuff, as every year.

Reason why I'm giving this game 3 out of 10 is because graphics are kinda good actually (although I believe BF 1 still looks better), and visual effects. On big screen or TV effects looks really well. Other than that COD WW2 is a terrible product with boring story, stupid AI, uninteresting characters, lack of variety...the list could go on and on.

Whole campaign is one over the top action scene after another. There is absolutely nothing original about it, zero freedom of movement. For heaven's sake you can't even open the doors until your stupid AI scripted friends do it for you. Apparently you are too stupid to do it.

AI is dumb and completely scripted like everything else. Sometimes they ignore you from 2m, sometimes they have laser accuracy, effectively killing all the fun of gunplay. Shame really.

Visually the game is ok, on par with 2017 games, but then again, there are better looking games as well. Characters look good, but they are some of the most annoying characters ever in a WWII shooter. They are just painfully stereotypical...

At the end... I haven't finished this game and I never will. And just to show why exactly everything in this game is devoid of any shape of inspiration and originality, play the tank mission. Here it's obvious that even people that made it never even played it. If you want to finish it, you have set your controls to maximum sensitivity or else you cannot even turn your turret fast enough to aim. Completely and utterly broken mission.

Anyway, enough about it. Save your money and buy some old WWII classics.

Call of Duty: WW2 drives spectacular moments in the style of Michael Bay films. The atmosphere in the ship before the actual landing in Normandy is completely boring, the same mission in Medal of Honor is full of fear, when soldiers pray or vomit, then real chaos breaks out, you won't find such an atmosphere in CoD: WW2. However, the battlegroup system attached to it seems ridiculous. Daniels can ask his teammates for help in the form of first aid kits or ammunition. However, colleague Zussman only gives you medicine if you have killed a sufficient number of enemies before. You cannot give any orders to the companions and they do not even pose any real threat to the enemies. Every now and then it happened to me that there was a German standing next to me in the trench, whom my partner reliably ignored. I literally forced myself to finish it for the price I want for it, it's really not worth it, you'd better buy Medal of Honor allied assault / Pacific Assault Expand

This is really a banal remix of any combination of previous WWII games you care to mention with big budget cinematic's and prettier graphics. Like so many other titles I rather get the feeling this in itself is enough to make a game sell. Maybe, maybe not.

What does help is creative varied game play and an acknowledgement that the USA was not the only country to fight the Axis. This gets a quick mention at the start in truth but then its USA all the way. No option whatsoever to play another allied or axis nation which would have made the game a lot more diverse and interesting.

Whats also flawed in this game is like so many others its reliance on "push button" cut scenes where you try to destroy your keyboard attempting to do something pointless like a early on and quite frankly God awful tussle with a German soldier armed with a bayonet. This could and in my opinion should have been left out. It added nothing and the clumsy approach taken to key/mouse combinations was a usability nightmare.

In short, in my opinion, this is mediocre fare that's repetitive and feels awkward due to the weird mouse key combo's used in the annoying, on best left in the recycle bin ", interactive" cut scenes. 2/10 from me.

The game has a decent campaign, but that's where it stops at delivering anything good. The multiplayer is just horribly frustrating. Average scores for players are in the negative. The hit detection is what bothers me the most. Nothing like unloading half a magazine into an opposing player only for them to shoot you and kill you like you were shooting blanks. The kill cam shows most your hits that you thought were hitting...weren't there...which tells you exactly that the netcode is not up to par. Just another re-skinned COD game, save your money. Better yet, if you must have it, get it on the secondary market to put a ding in Activision/Sledgehammer's profit margins. I only wish I could get a refund, as I stupidly purchased the digital download collector's edition. Waste of $100 that evidently can't be refunded. At least Gamestop would give me about 50% of the game's value back. I just love how the official reviews are still beaming, except that now it's down to 75 on metacritic. Heed my warning...save your money, Activision and Sledgehammer games have failed the casual gamer. I'm sure the MLG, Monster Chugging Fan Boys will still love this game because it's the same twitchy trash that;s been re-skinned every year. The gameplay feels basically identity to every other COD game, including the old original WW2 ones. And that is a major problem. The originals were good....for their time. But its 2017 and games have evolved since then, but not COD. The physics engine is poor, the ragdoll effects are nonexistent. The death animations feel the same as all the other COD games, and it completely kills the game. When you blow up a group of enemies they just slouch over and die in their scripted death animations, instead of going flying or ragdolling. The gunplay is too fast and feels like the character has no "weight" to him. Other than a few scenes, it doesnt feel like you are really in WW2, because so many scenes are just completely unrealistic. Like using sniper rifle to shoot 60 enemies in 5 minutes. Or using a flak gun to shoot down 10 planes in under a minute. Or the endless waves of germans running at you with no intelligence. The explosions are very pixelated.

The voice acting is okay, but some of the lines are cheesy or out of place for the scene. For the amount of money they spent on this game, there really is no excuse for how generic it is. The engine feels massively outdated and arcadey.

Like there are different types of call of duty summary stories out there and they can't just let this die and start a new original game but no they have to create from scratch not based on story line. Only the fans rate this 10 because they're call of duty fans and that's their childhood.

You also can't really tell which direction your tank is facing, so you'll press W to advance and go sailing off to the right.

This is aggravated by the fact that you're in a compact, urban setting, so you can expect to spend a lot of time getting stuck in corners and ramming into walls. Unfortunately, the point of the tank level is to destroy enemy tanks, which you can *only* do by flanking them, so in the unlikely event that you actually stumble upon an enemy tank's flank, good luck moving your turret into position before the tank turns to face you.

I'm astounded that it got released in this state. Fortunately it only took me 2.5 hours to get there, so I was able to refund it.

I do not know how about the whole game, but in the single player everything becomes clear from the very beginning. In the first level, you are shown how the developers **** on the players. Run from the fence to the fence, die Hundred times and it's unclear what to do. At this point, I deleted the game. The good did not buy this ****

Well this is pretty standard practice for a CoD game.... devs and publisher lie through their teeth with the standard generic hyped grocery list of "features" and don't bother to follow through, they know the kids will buy it regardless. An utter disgrace to those who served.
Yes CoD is "going back to its roots" indeed....cut, paste, rinse, repeat and caaaaash in. The saddest aspect isnt the less than mediocre game itself, it's that the same people who feel betrayed by this abysmal trash will still get in line next year for the next enchanting installment with cash in hand.
    Weak.

Well done Activision, after two years of successfully avoiding your yearly copy and paste but somehow simultaneously getting worse and worse I relented and bought this - mainly due to my affection of World at War. Well, it turns out that eight-year-old game is better in every single way. Congrats on the hype train, I bought a ticket - and now, after one day, I'm getting off. Abysmal.

The new Call of Duty is like a shopping list, in which the devs list one second-rate cliché after another. It's not always for the sake of it, but it's already making the WWII unique that everybody should play. [Issue#280]

A magnificent, but also a sympathetic, unpretentious return to the roots of the series. Yet the campaign is short-lived, and your next experience depends on how much you enjoy the multiplayer and/or shooting Nazi zombies.
