Nov 14, 2023CoD Modern Warfare 3 hides one of the best multiplayer modes in years between a crappy campaign and an insignificant zombie mode.
-
Nov 20, 2023With weaponized nostalgia, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III delivers a satisfying experience in multiplayer and zombies. A diverse selection of returning battlegrounds augments the competitive action and the deep open-world undead mode is entertaining for hours, making it worth playing despite the disappointing campaign.
-
Nov 22, 2023The Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 3 campaign is a by-the-numbers experience with few of the thrills or high-points the series is known for.
-
Nov 17, 2023A weak campaign and a fun but unimaginative multiplayer mode and the addition of zombies make Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 a mixed part of the series.
-
LEVEL (Czech Republic)Jan 12, 2024Audiovisually it looks awesome, the gorgeous graphics and very well done animations, which are especially noticeable in the cutscenes, are complemented by great-feeling combat, and it all moves very well. The big problem with the game, however, is the unnecessary clutter. [Issue#332]
-
Nov 28, 2023Modern Warfare 3 is a worrying misfire with a shoehorned campaign, saved only by excellent gunplay in multiplayer and its reworked Zombies.
-
Nov 27, 2023A fun but technically unstable Zombies mode and some nostalgic additions to Multiplayer probably don't make up for the worst Campaign we've seen so far in a CoD game, nor do they fully redeem the game's integrity, a game which would have been better off released at half price as an expansion for MWII.
-
Nov 17, 2023The team behind Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III seemed uninspired and directionless, which probably led to the release of a game in 2023 that perhaps shouldn't have been released at all.
-
Edge MagazineNov 30, 2023Without immediate course correction, Activision is likely to discover that even the most loyal playerbase can smell when it's being cheated. [Issue#392, p.104]

Nov 16, 2023Call of Duty Modern Warfare III is the ultimate proof that the franchise's annual release schedule is breaking down. The campaign feels uninteresting and rushed, the multiplayer mode appeals to the nostalgia of the community and isn't fundamentally different from its predecessor, while the zombies mode comes across as a PvE version of DMZ, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. All in all, Modern Warfare III struggles to justify its price and each of these elements would have benefited from a modular release rather than the hastily put together package we have on our hands.
-
Nov 16, 2023Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is an unambitious and in many ways completely unnecessary installment of the series. It doesn't introduce any significant innovations to the formula, and even the single-player campaign - usually a solid offering - completely disappoints this time.
-
Nov 15, 2023Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III does exactly what it needs to in the multiplayer to catch on, and the Call of Duty formula is undeniably addictive when it all clicks. But the single-player campaign hits a new low.
-
Nov 14, 2023Overall, it can't be said that Modern Warfare III is explicitly bad. However, the issue lies in the fact that it largely consists of recycled content, and everywhere you look, there's an effort to simplify the work. If it were released as DLC or at a lower price, it would be acceptable, but the full price and the attempt to present it as a full-fledged Call of Duty title bring down the rating. The brighter moments of the game include some campaign missions, Makarov, as well as nostalgic maps in multiplayer, but that's about it.
-
Nov 13, 2023Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is not a full-fledged Call of Duty, but it is marketed as such. This has major consequences for quality. Whether that quality is relevant to you depends on the mode you buy the game for. The single player is boring, short and bad. The multiplayer is nostalgic, but is also too safe an update of the predecessor with old maps. The Zombies mode is different, big and exciting. So have fun, maybe?
-
Nov 13, 2023Better-than-expected Zombies, decent Multiplayer with flaws and one of the worst campaigns in the series mar this year's Call of Duty, making it difficult to recommend, even to the hardcore.

Nov 20, 2023A big failure for Call of Duty saga. Fun multiplayer action isn't enough to make up for a really poor campaign and a simply correct zombie mode. [Not recommended]

Nov 9, 2023The story attempts to hit a lot of familiar beats, but instead ends up feeling like someone copied the homework of the original trilogy without showing their work. Modern Warfare 3 seems to think nostalgia will carry the load of this story and that players may project their love for the original onto this one without it doing anything to earn that. On one hand, I commend Call of Duty for taking 20 years to deliver a campaign this messy. On the other hand, I hate that it happened to a story that revolves around characters and storylines that fans like myself have so much affinity for. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 campaign is not a celebration of 20 years of Call of Duty – it's a cry for help. [Campaign Review Score = 40]

Nov 16, 2023I enjoy Modern Warfare 3’s multiplayer in the same way I’ve enjoyed nearly every one of Call of Duty’s competitive kill-fests. When you get down to it, there are few games out there that can match how this series looks and feels in the heat of a firefight. To its credit, this year’s game has brought back some great maps and made some meaningful tweaks to movement and recoil mechanics. But… that’s kind of it for what you get with Modern Warfare 3’s contributions – there aren’t any big new ideas to change up the same gunbattles we’ve had for years, with the most thrilling one being that cosmetic purchases carry over from Modern Warfare 2, which is only possible because so little has changed. Especially when you put those improvements next to a cumbersome and frustrating new progression system, it’s not enough to get excited about. [Multiplayer Review Score = 60]

Nov 10, 2023Call of Duty has lost its magic. Modern Warfare 3 is miles away from the epic campaign missions of the franchise. The new open combat missions are boring and we are missing the scripted action sequences of the prequels. After only four hours the story is completed, even for a Call of Duty that’s short. We still have the feeling, this game should be a DLC and not a sequel of MW2. [Campaign Review Score = 40]

Nov 7, 2023Modern Warfare 3 sets what seems to be the final chapter in the MW series. But with a short campaign, a lot of the payoff feels unfulfilled. However, the open-world design does freshen up the formula that's showing its age. Be prepared to spend little time getting through the narrative. [Campaign Review Score = 60]

Nov 9, 2023There’s a common narrative that Call of Duty campaigns were at their peak in the late ‘00s. That may be true in pop cultural terms, multiplayer having long since overshadowed solo modes for the typical COD fan. But this Modern Warfare reboot began with Infinity Ward firing on all cylinders, embracing brave themes and experimental designs in single-player that excused its occasional stumbles. It’s a shame to see the engine it built sputter and fail, betrayed by a stopgap schedule-filler with nothing to say. [Campaign Review]
