Mediocre graphics, stupid plot, short campaign. I am having a hard time thinking of the POSITIVE things to say about this game. Infinity Ward should be removed as the developer of the next CoD game. Because there WILL be a next CoD game. At this point, for this franchise, money matters more than quality. And Ghosts seems to have made a of it.

Too often the missions in the single player started with "shhhh... or something to that effect. The problem is that I did not purchase a stealth game. There are much better stealth franchises out there, if that is what I wanted to play. When we are inevitably discovered, it became a by-the-numbers run to the exit, or hatch, or helicopter, or tank... whichever.

And by the way: these have to be the loudest 'ghosts' ever.

Riley the gimmick (sorry, the dog) is an afterthought for the most part. As a matter of fact, there seem to be only two characters that you develop any kind of emotional response to and they are not Riley or the brothers.

In an era that is producing games like Grand Theft Auto 5, Bioshock Infinite and FarCry 3, just to name a few, it IS possible to produce quality and sales in sequels. Activision seems to have given up on quality for this franchise if the evidence is the last two games they have thrown out: Black Ops II and Ghosts. Both are a case of slapping some explosions together, throwing in some Multiplayer maps and putting 'Call of Duty in front of whatever is this game's name and out the door it goes. Then they sit by the register and wait for us, the stupid people, to dish out the money for it. We do it, even though sometimes we are questioning if this one is going to be any good.

The only reason I still play is because of the people I play with, but it may now be time to catch up on games I missed previously like Batman Origins or Splinter Cell Blacklist.

If you work hard for your money, save some of it and pass on this turkey. Or, at the very least, wait for the first price drop. At the rate people are leaving the Multiplayer, you will not have to wait long.

Maps are like Gotham City Impostors. Textures looks like bad tonemapped pseudo-hdr. And of course 65GB of disk space... CoD Ghosts is one of the biggest failures I've seen in years. There are indie studios, which would create soo much better game than "pros" from your studios. Time to beat the hell from your keyboards, kick everybody from Quality, ban every tester because they clearly have no idea how gamers want to spend free time.

All the controls and mechanics are there from previous versions of COD, but if you select any single mechanic I can list for you the COD game like that did it better and IW shows with Ghosts to have severely lost a step in the Multi-player experience (which, let's be honest, Treyarch has historically done better).

This all being said I'll leave you with a final question: Is COD: Ghosts a bad game? Well, no. Not exactly. Get the stability issues resolved and it will be fine, which sums it up on the whole. Fine, and uninspired. Hardcore COD fans will feel a bit disappointed, and new COD players will not be as impressed like those of us who played COD:MW were.

PC games should be ported TO consoles. We are also getting screwed by CoD having 2 different companies release a different title every other year. The part that bothers me though is each company also has TWO YEARS to come up with a new game and that neither company has the balls to step up the game and come up with something DOPE that leaves the other company crying with it's ding dong tucked between its legs. More like Call of Doody. This CoD game is an utter disappointment, as usual.

In my opinion the one thing that kept me coming back to the Call of Duty series for the last couple years was that it was at least enjoyable. Despite being of the opinion that MW2 and MW3 are virtually the same game, Black Ops 2 made a HUGE mistake by going futuristic, and feeling a little like an idiot for buying into the whole annual release thing I still found each game fun to play through (both online and in the campaign) and worth the expense.

Sadly this is not the case with Ghosts.

Call of Duty campaigns haven't been interesting or even somewhat well made since they left the World War Two setting (aside from Black Ops which I completely ADORED) but Ghosts falls much harder than even the masturbatory Michael Bay inspired 'oorah! 'MERICA!!!!" forays of the Modern Warfare series.

Even though the levels are varied and choke full of action none of them particularly stand out, the story-line (though somewhat interesting) fails to establish any of kind of emotional connection between player and characters/events, and in general even though the plot isn't directly taken from another source it just feels like something we've seen countless times before in movies and other video games. Simply put, the campaign is uninspired, repetitive, boring, and worst of all really makes you feel like you're going through the motions for the sake of taking full advantage of that $60. In other words, it truly feels like this time around the developer went into it with the mindset that no one was going to care about the singleplayer and this total lack of interest is on display.

In regards to the multiplayer, the absolute lifeblood of this franchise since 2007 the only aspect of this series that has convinced gamers and critics that silly, over the top, and short campaigns was alright....it's a total mess.

The PC's versions existing technical issues are magnified when trying to fight through an online game where speed, reflexes, and precision are key. Personally I've had to turn down the graphics settings nearly as low as it will go in order to get decent performance thus making the game look like garbage which in turn isn't enjoyable in itself but also makes it really hard to distinguish opposing players from the environment more than a couple yards away. The issues with fairly consistent lag only multiplies these frustrations and makes playing the game for more than a couple rounds an absolute chore.

Performance problems aside, the online aspect just doesn't feel as fun and addictive as it did in previous installments. While having different character models that you can customize (to a limit) is pretty great the killstreak reward feature feels neutered, the unlock system is unnecessarily convoluted, spawn locations on maps are terribly done, and the maps themselves are a mixed bag with maybe one or two enjoyable ones while the rest vary from kind of bad to terrible.

The icing on this mediocre cake though is something that I almost can't believe they let happen. While people like to joke around that competitive online players jump on the "you're hacking!" thing too much, it appears as though Infinity Ward did very little to protect the online portion of the game from being abused by those using aimbots, wallhacks, and other such nonsense. Whereas Black Ops 2 had a pretty good anti-cheating system there doesn't even appear to be one for Ghosts. The result? There's plenty of people using these hacks out there and they're doing so virtually unrestricted by the game. This is a major issue and it needs to be resolved as quickly as possible.

In short, Ghosts completely fails to achieve what it set out to do: i.e. be this new console generation's "Modern Warfare". Both its singleplayer and multiplayer are underwhelming and pack plenty of issues to boot and the consequence of this seems to be that more and more Call of Duty fans are waking up and realizing how stagnated and repetitive the franchise has gotten over the last six years.

Call of Duty's fall had to come sometime and Ghosts may in fact be the harbinger either for the slow death of the series and/or the shift of support/acclaim from Infinity Ward to Treyarch.

There is point perk system, as used in Treyarch's BO2, so if you're not a fan of that, then that might be a negative for you. Though, the same old 1 host advantage lobbies are being used once again, which can and will lead to laggy games, due to being forced to play against people probably not even close to your area.
Graphics look nice, only if you max out all the settings. There's no in-game option to change field of view, there are mods available but there is uncertainty at the moment whether they are allowed without punishment/ban. All you get for audio options is a level bar to increase or decrease volume. Unlike BO1 & BO2 where you have different audio presets, and can even lower down the volume of annoying voice overs and music.
As I said, this is the same gameplay as the previous games, whether they were IW or Treyarch, and I still have fun with that. So why such a low score? Well, I suppose this might not be IW fault completely, but there is weak PC community for this game. On average, there are 8K players online, sometimes 18K, and 30K on a rare sunny day. I honestly don't know if those are average numbers for a call of duty game on PC, being that it is my first one on PC. Without dedicated servers, and the previous 6GB RAM requirement (now patched to 4GB), people probably decided to pass on this or just decided to move on to consoles (which average +400K players online), sadly. Cannot recommend at the moment, if ever, I would suggest wait till steam itself has a free to play weekend, maybe by then there will be more players.
