    What happened? I have to say I liked Black Ops 2 and I had high hopes for Ghosts but I am severely let down I mean this game is so unoptimized it is pathetic. Why does it run so bad? I have no idea, it is not the graphics they are just pour for a game of this magnitude not like it looks like Battlefield 4 it is not a massive world like Planetside yet it runs worse than those games.

    This has to be the most recycled CoD game of all times. The only 'new' feature is 'the dog". The entire single player campaign is completely forgettable as the big moments are just rehashed bits of the previous games. The PC version has some rather hefty requirements it looks and plays better than the console versions but it just isn't anything special from a technical point of view.This has to be the most recycled CoD game of all times.     The multiplayer on the other hand is just the usual stuff we've seen before with some serious 'misses' thrown into the mix. The 'aliens' bit is just a one-time affair, no reason to replay it. The new modes are nonsensical (the "you will now blow up" mode has to be the 'king' here).

    Generally speaking, this franchise just keeps on testing the patience of players with every new release just how many times can this game be re-sold with some slight changes?    … Expand

    I have lowered my score for this game based on the fact that they STILL have not fixed the stuttering issues, and in fact have made them WORSE. Multiplayer is nearly broken due to laggy movement and microfreezes. As a result, the game cannot be played competitively, and the player base has dwindled significantly in response.     Before, I was enjoying the game because the lag was tolerable, but now? It's awful--and Infinity Ward couldn't care less. This is flat out embarrassing for what is undoubtedly one of the richest gaming companies in the business. On top of that, there are still NO DEDICATED SERVERS. What gives? That was one of the reasons I decided to buy the game, because it seemed like IW was finally making amends with PC gamers and giving us what we've wanted for so long. But it's just the same old crap; broken promises and heaps of optimization issues.

    There is fun to be had in the game if you're very tolerant, but not 60 dollars worth of fun. CoD: Ghosts was my first CoD I've purchased on day one, and will be my last.    … Expand

    One of the worst FPS ever played :
    - Loading time are horribly too long.
    - Lag Latency makes the game unplayable.
    - FOV sets to 65°. No possibility to change that parameter ???
    - graphics are poor and sad.
    - Game play is very slow compare to BO2.
    - Respawn is totally stupid. (Respawn just in front of ennemies ???)
    - Equivalent to free to play Warface ...

    COD Ghost is a total disaster

    I am not trolling nor am i a punk kid, this game looks terrible, plays terrible, ai is abysmal im a campaign guy multiplayer is no fun anymore, between the cheaters and the punk kids, its just not worth it. The pc version is ridiculous, activision seems to not really care about the pc gamer in this one.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is the latest installment of the call of duty series, it has a new engine that is beautiful but in the same time odd. I was impressed by the particle effects (from the grenades etc) but what disappointed me was the story. It was weak, I didn't feel like it was something to me. It didn't feel I cared about anyone in the "Ghosts". In the beginning when you are being dragged to the car you can remember that animation from MW2 ending which is a CTRL C CTRL V like. Graphics overall is a 7/10 for me since it's unoptimized as The single-player as I said was weak, I would give it a 5/10. There was one scene when Logan and Hesh's father showed who he really was. Then Hesh said "Wait you are from the ghosts" in a stupid, horrific bad way. So I can say that the voice acting is a bit i'll give it a 6/10.
    Multiplayer is, of course the same thing every time. Just with new weapons, maps, AND SPAWNS that will literary piss you off so much the same way I have done the last two days...
    Conclusion: The game does not deserve its price tag at 59.99 Euros. It's not worth the money and wait till it's on sale if you want it. This is a big disappointment as the trailer looked good. Avoid the game until sales. I am giving this game a 4/10 because of some good improvements but still negative sides win.    … Expand

    This game has so many problems on PC, it doesn't run well, has no FOV options. Its online suffers a lot from lag, too often i find my self to be killed by a person i haven't even seen yet also it just feels like Modern warfare 3, which felt like MW2, so this game is not what i paid for, and has nothing really going for it apart from the extinct mode.

    I do not recommend this game to noone. It is just waste of money. As single player is much more collorated then it could be that multi is much worst then other CoD tittles. Game just sucks in reality fighting. You can still be knifed out after sending few bullets to enemys chest

    My review is for multi player only, I really didn't want to believe all of the negative reviews but god this game is bad. The biggest problem is the spawning into mayhem constantly. Also every map is a battle dome, i just remember MW2 where at least teams fought for positions on the map, where in this game there is just no way for that to happen.     With a name like 'GHOSTS' I expected there it to be more of a stealth FPS. But over complicated gear selection, buggy gameplay, kills are WAY too easy (2 bullets), boring kill streaks, (dogs are stupid). Overall I enjoyed Black Ops multiplayer a lot more. If you enjoy the thrill of actually staying alive for a decent period of time, driving to avoid grenades, a chance of survival in a gunWith a name like 'GHOSTS' I expected there it to be more of a stealth FPS.     Let's clear one thing up. After I played this game I was SICK. There is no FOV slider so I got motion sick and I have not gone near that game since it's release. They say it's next gen. No it's not the graphics look dated and should not need you should not need to have 2 graphics cards to run it. Also I had to get MORE RAM! I had 8GB and it said I only had 4 so it would not boot.     The game is above average, the story is good and it is worth playing.But the multiplayer is bad.Although the new perk system and customizing classes are good the spawn system is really horrible. But I think I will be fixed soon. I hope it will.

    You know whats wrong with this game? The same that has been happening with all the recent COD Games. It stills...looks...like an update.

    Take for example Team Fortress 2, its a video game that has been changed thousand of times with major and minor updates, and even DLCS, all FOR FREE. (Ex: Mann vs machine)

    Cod instead, gives you 10 maps, and then you have to pay 19$ for 5 more.

    Talking about Cod Ghosts: It looks like a major update to Black Ops 2. Seriously. The plain singleplayer plot is just stupid as hell. South Americans attack USA, because.... because... they became some kind of Nazis who want to establish their superiority? Ok sure... I think the COD developers have run out of enemys (They already used nazis, communists, brasilians, arabs, nazi-communists, europeans, nazi-communist-arabs, etc etc.)
    Talking about the multiplayer, this is the formula:

    + it does looks a bit better, despite what everybody says
    + the idea of points to buy gear/weapons/perks is nice (but it goes way too slow) + if u play with friends i can imagine that squad play can be nice - gameplay multiplay really went down, it just doens't 'play right' - no adjustable FoV - 6Gb ram, never needed that before - mouse    Let's start with the few positives:

    A disappointment from the Call Of Duty franchise. Was expecting something alot better than Black Ops 2. You can tell completely that these developers are the same ones that developed MW2 or MW3 for that matter

    It's Call of Duty, but now you can turn contextual lean on. Pretty amazing i know. Well the game runs fine as always. Looks fine, but just cause it's not broken doesnt make it good. Boring unrealistic stories 4 life.

    Call of Duty: Ghosts could actually be the worst in the entire franchise. The gameplay is barely different, the graphics are even worse and the optimization is just plane terrible. The only good things about it is the Extinction gamemode, the dog killstreak and the ability to play as a female soldier in multiplayer. That's it.

    It is the same old story with arcade military shooters which seem to attract mostly the 12 year olds (or people with a brain of a little kid). Military arcade FPS have nothing really new to provide they are made just for "cash cows".     Single Campaign has some interesting missions and environments fortunately (like fighting in space and underwater) but the whole story experience is full with cliches that we have seen a million times with other COD games it is like watching and starring in some military fantasy B-movie military I have not tried multiplayer yet but seriously i am not that thrilled with this game i have become bored with the COD games    … Expand

    It plays like It keeps crashing, lagging, kicking out of matches, freezing and what-not. Mouse-accel checked. Getting shoot from nowhere checked. Invincible lagged enemies- checked. Everything you can imagine is bad for an FPS game is there in force !!
    No FOV slider for PCs 60 FOV is about 1/3 of normal human FOV and 1/2 of what previous CoDs and every decent FPS there offers. It makes the game super-easy for campers, and you get continously shot from the sides and back. Of course there is FOV option in-game but IW decided to block that for PCs, probably because they hate PC players.
    Killstreak rewards are super-boring compared to the old cod games. Oracle system? Really, a built-in wallhack? You gotta be kidding me here IW. It's not exactly OP it is just extremely annoying when enemy got Oracle, and you (usually) don't know about it. Guard dogs that kill you from 6 meters? Lol and I thought the K9 was OP, and that was for almost 20 kills, not freaking 6 kills like in Ghosts. Every killstreak reward out there is either OP, or boring, or both. I don't realy have incentive to obtain them.
    The maps. Well the maps are bigger and I really like that. The dynamic element that was added is also good. Too bad they are still "1 step forward, 2 step backwards". Why? Because most of the maps are camper's heaven especially with 60 FOV madness. In BLOPS 2 campers were a rare occurance here they are on every server.
    No dedicated servers bad net-code. You are constantly thrown into lagged hell, or can't connect at all. Needless to say it's another middle finger pointed towards PC players by infinity ward.
    Squad mode is a joke, I am not sure why they put that in, it was a waste of time and code. Those are nothing more than bot matches, with crappy AI as usual, but they net you same XP as multiplayer matches. What the f... !?
    About the campaign, well it's barely playable, much more unstable than multiplayer. I managed to play through a large part of it, and it's the same as every CoD. A few new tricks here and there, but it's the same run'n'gun as always. Except it's even shorter, takes about 6 hours to beat if you are not constanly crashing like I do. 6 hours of decent fun for 60 Lol no thanks.

    Overall there are some good things to say about CoD. Like bigger maps or new game modes. But this is all nothing compared to massive problem cod has, caused by activision incredible level of greed and iw's hate towards PC players.
    Should you buy it If you are a dumb CoD fanboy, yes. If you are a CoD fan, No, you will be disappointed If you like FPS in general, No, stick to Battlefield or CS:GO or previous CoD games just not this one.
    My score to this piece of trash is 3/10, for an AAA game this is terrible, not worth half of that cash.    … Expand

    This is one of the worst games I've played Technically not work well, you can not correctly choose the language you need (separate switch between subtitles and audio), random FPS drops, and Next generation engine? my ass looks the same as always (they just increased the resolution of some textures) CHEATERS!. Very bad production...

    What's GOOD about this game? Maps are surprisingly big and varying. I was very scared that big maps in COD would be absolute trash, running around and find no one. This isn't an issue with these maps. They are also easy on the eyes and aren't dull gray like MW3. Next, the Squad Point System. You don't have to wait a million years to get a specific weapon, which is absolutely fantastic. Third, no gun is 'broken'. Nothing clearly OP like the Type-95 or the FMGs. Infinity Ward hit the nail on the head when it comes to weapon balance. Knifing also has a neat animation which prevents you from meleeing multiple people at a time.

    What's 'MEH' about this game? The character customization is really, well, underwhelming. Not a lot of choices or individuality. However, it is a step in the right direction merely not a big one. Guns are also very boring to look at. Not really that big of an issue, but gun models went down after MW2. Next, singleplayer. As usual, COD doesn't focus on campaign, mainly because it's a multiplayer game. However, campaign is decent and enjoyable the first couple runthroughs. Nothing spectacular ther. Lastly, the graphics and innovation. It's nothing new or groundbreaking. It's the same time-tested formula which works year after year. Is it bad? No, but is it good? Not in particular, it's just repetitive. You can't expect such a fast-paced shooter to have BF4 graphics; that would be unrealistic and frankly stupid for such an arcadey shooter.

    What's BAD about this game? Foremostly, graphical glitches. Too many times I have switched weapons to find myself with a huge polygon in my face, completely blocking my vision. This happens relatively often, but it isn't that gamebreaking. Switching weapons or restarting game fixes it. Scopes may sometimes also appear invisible, but again, not a huge problem. Second, and fairly important, lag. Oh good god the lag in and outside of the game. The menus lag, the game lags, everything lags expect for the infinity ward logo on the screen. Hopefully they'll fix it up in a patch, but it will constantly annoy you.

    tl;dr It's not a terribly bad game, although it's nothing new. Some pretty big issues with multiplayer which can easily be patched, but a lot of good things brought to the table. A few more years and maybe COD will finally learn from it's mistakes and evolve into what we have always wanted.    … Expand

    I cant recommend this game at all it mostly runs around 45 FPS it has nor FOV slider the gun play is just boring and the graphics are really bad. I would say that Black Ops 2 actually had better graphics and i would even say that Bad Company 2 from 2010(!!!) had better Graphics. The only good thing is that it has 12 different play modes but that's it. If you want a good Mulitplayer FPSI cant recommend this game at all it mostly runs around 45 FPS it has nor FOV slider the gun play is just boring and the graphics are really bad.     This is a step back from Black Ops 2, If I turn on modern warfare 2 I get the same deal, I guese playing a female and having a dog is the only inovating they could come up with.

    - Small condensed maps leading to a) spawning in proximity to the enemy and b) nigh always having someone coming at you from ALL angles leading to death short of having eyes in the back of your head.
    - Servers are constantly timing out from the would-be host, which having played 80% of a game only to have it fail like that and see all your XP/awards go out the window frankly is a complete joke. You tell me IW/Activision where it was my fault someone/something crashed the server.

    The Ugly:
    It's the realization that I put my faith in IW/Activision, having not played since MW2, only to think "It's been years since you played and surely you've waited long enough for some vast improvements to be made to the series that actually warrants your purchase again"...

    No, it did not.

    I am genuinely disappointed with this title. What makes it worse is for me I actually bothered to invest in the collectors so it feels like even more of my money wasted.

    It would be enough to ask that the game just function as intended regardless of it's technological shortcomings (although apparently requiring 6GB of RAM), but this title fails even in that endeavour. I've barely been able to go three maps without some sort of server crash, freeze, or game crash. Each crash has then taken me out of play and rendered whatever XP/awards I've earned in that time null and void.

    What I would like to see from this is one of two things. The options are:
    - IW/Activision authorizes refunds for a seriously flawed piece of software. Knowing that will never happen..
    - IW/Activision publicly voice their shortfall on this game, and begin work in earnest immediately on patches that will optimize this game for the PC, and remove the sources of crashing/freezing. This is an absolute minimum ask. It is your creation, and it is not even close to the value you put on your product that you asked for when we purchased.

    This series, your company, and it's legacy are fast becoming the laughing stock of the game development community. Have some dignity and pride. Fix it.    … Expand

    This is quite a good arcade shoter game, but they kept the same gameplay for too long, and the only changes brought for 4 years are "this can level up, you can customize this a bit more" and that's all. That's what I expect when I buy DLCs or expansion packs, not a brand new game. Also, the skins dlc are what I expect in a free-to-play game, not a game I paid 60 €, I know that you don't need to buy them, but when you take a weapon from one's guy that you saw because -let's face it- you see those weapons from a mile away, you feel pity for the guy who paid for it.

    The singleplayer campaign is just like any COD singleplayer campaign. You don't get the feeling that you are the underdog that much. Speaking of dog, they really did put one in the game to say "if you don't like this single player campaing it's because you don't like cute dogs".

    Overall, this game feels like Activision stopped aiming at the pc market and aims at console fanboys who didn't see (yet) the same game with different models for 10 years.    … Expand

    No FoV slider. Horrible graphics. (Worse than BO2) Bad gameplay. The only reason I'm giving them a three is because the shaders look nice and the dynamic maps. Back to playing Black Ops 2.

I used to play Call of Duty on a professional level on a lot of eSports events. I loved Call of Duty 4 which I enjoyed for 2 or even 3 years. I recently had some more free time and thought "hey, let's try a new Call of Duty".

    But this? This is the most unfinished product I have ever seen. I am not saying anything about graphics, which to me looks like at least one generation old. I am honest, it's not even frustration. This game looks worse than Call of Duty 4 and I have around 20 fps if that's what you guys call optimization, better work on a new engine. This awful optimization forced me to change graphic settings like 10 times. The frustrating part is that you require the game to load level over and over again, with every (even small) change in the settings. I don't even want to say anything about your 6GB of RAM requirement, because this is the biggest joke I have ever seen. I have a pretty decent setup, I played BF4 which has a lot better graphics on 40-50 FPS at 1440x900 with medium settings. I have 20 FPS in Call of Duty, running it on 1280x720 with low settings.

    Honestly... I am speechless. I will sum up everything with only one sentence you guys even copied some of the old files (sounds) to Call of Duty: Ghosts. It feels like you guys released a patch or DLC that is pretty much f***** up, because someone failed in your QA Department with game tests. When I see notes like "10" for this game on Metacritic I don't even know what to say.

    This game is horrible, period. And to clarify I really love what you guys are doing. I love video games, I love game-dev. I love your passion that you put in Call of Duty for several years. I can understand a lot of processes that may have went wrong. But here... I am just a customer. Customer, that haven't seen this kind of disappointment for the last several years.     Ghost is step back in CoD franchise. BO2 was new and innovative while Ghost is just the same game as MW3. Graphics and gameplay are outdated while game require insane PC specs (6Gb DDR, 50Gb HDD). If you like CoD, don't buy this game so developers will improve next time.

    I bought this serie because I have all of Call Of Duty series. Also I missing "FOV" changer, dedicated server (but it is too much for infinityward). Very laggy game, when is bad host you can play like a best skiller on the world, but you dont have any chance to kill somebody.

    The graphic is ported from consoles and not able to fully use PC specs. The game also keeps you from alt-tabbing or using the windows key in game. the options are severely limited in the audio section (sfx and music not seperated, wtf?).

    The gameplay as it is is the same as every infinity ward cod. not bad, but not innovative (in meaningful aspects). The new Gamemodes are fun and keep the game a bit from being a campfest. hitdetection is still clientside, which i (personally) dont get is still a thing in modern titles.
    The spawns are really bad, but that may depend on my personal bad luck. It happens frequently that you spawn in direct line of sight of the enemy that has just killed you (20m radius of your corpse).

    All in all i don't recommend the game as long as IW doesn't severlay rework the code, which -honestly- won't happen.

    For the modern military shooter fans i recommend to stick to BO2 or Battlefield until this title is fixed.
    As for hardcore fps fans i recommend shootmania as old-school title    … Expand

    This was the ULTIMATE Theme-Park experience. Not good, at all. Story and action were excellent, but gameplay, and technical issues were terrible. I honestly felt as if I was being dragged around and pointed in a direction to kill X bad guys, then re-position and do it all over. I didn't hate the game, but it's not fit for the CoD franchise.

    The guns just didn't keep me interested like they did in BO2. None were really special or great, they're all kind of mid-level. To add on this, there isn't really a reason to stick with your favorite gun since you can just buy all of the attachments instead of actually leveling and prestiging your gun. And you can't get camo for your secondary. But hey, you can access your clan via iPad so that's just a revolutionary step forward.
    I didn't bother with the campaign because I don't care about the campaign. They made the maps bigger to try to compare with BF4. I didn't like this.
    Extinction is like Zombies, and it's fun until you beat it once. After that its just boring.

    Performance issues: While I run every other game I've ever played on the highest settings with no issues, I have to run Ghosts on low-very low on every setting. Anything above that and the game freezes/seizes/fps issues etc.
    I bought BO2 for full price as well, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I put in over 500 hours on the game. I have about 20 hours on Ghosts and I've actually uninstalled it. It's not worth the huge size, and it SURELY is not worth the $60. I have made the decision that I will be switching over to Battlefield next release, and I wish all COD gamers the best.    … Expand

Sadly, Ghosts is where I stop; this is indisputably the last COD I will ever purchase.

    Why? It's simple: the developers' blatant disregard for online playability, neglect (or perhaps unwillingness) to ramp up anti-hack measures/ban cheaters, and complete inability to optimize the game for computers of varying capabilities all serve to undermine the integrity of the entire COD franchise.

    First, in online multiplayer on PC, there are hardly ANY players online. The only two game modes you're guaranteed to find matches in are TDM and Domination. What's the point in having all the cool niche game modes if there aren't enough players online using them?

    Okay, so let's look at the cause-effect: why aren't there any players online? It really comes down to two main reasons. The first is that the game is poorly optimized, and is consequently only playable by those with top-tier PCs. "Just decrease the visual settings", you suggest? Ah, if we purchase a game for $60, should we really have to downgrade the quality settings to play it? No. The developers are generating millions of profit at significant margins; why should WE have to compromise game quality when they have the means and resources to optimize the game to ensure playability for a diversity of consumers?

    Fortunately, I have a high-performing PC and do not experience (the majority) of the lag/fps issues that most complain about. Instead, my biggest issue and disappointment is the ridiculous prevalence of hackers. There are AT LEAST 2-3 hackers in almost every single online match. If you take the time to watch killcams of many top-scoring players, a pathetically high number of them are, quite conspicuously, aiming at you through walls/map barriers. Some are even stupid enough to SHOOT you through walls, even regardless of whether you have all stealth perks active or not (i.e. blind eye, incog, off the grid).

    I understand COD is a franchise especially prone to hacking--that's fine, that's to be expected. However, the sheer influx of hackers in COD: Ghosts is just completely sad. Of the 5-6 different COD chapters I've played, this is bar-none the worst for hacking. It is quite evident that IW's anti-hack efforts (if there have been any "efforts", that is) have completely floundered. Until cheaters begin to get caught and banned (which likely won't be for a LONG while), I assuredly will not be playing much. In its current state, the quality of online gameplay is shameful, and yields a considerably frustrating experience for those who want to play fairly and legitimately.    … Expand

    The game was dead before it was even launched that why they called it call of duty ghosts.

    So let me get this straight, I got my COD GHOST yesterday and i was excited, but when it was time to install it i was HORRIFIED!!! They wanted me to download 7.5 GB for story mode and then 24.3 GB for Multiplayer!!!! At the moment it has been a day since i started to install Call of Duty Ghost and it has not even completed installing Story mode and i still have to install Multilayer AtSo let me get this straight, I got my COD GHOST yesterday and i was excited, but when it was time to install it i was HORRIFIED!!! I'll be honest i haven't liked a call of duty game in a long time but playing this on the pc really pissed me off. it's average on the ps3 with the story line copy and pasted from a past cod game. But on the pc it runs so crappy and glitchy it makes for a below averageAnother average call of duty games.. to think it would be one of the most glitchy poor quality games off the whole series.     - bad spawning position

    - prone is broken (You mostly can't go into prone or can't aim or move while in prone. Every small polygone around you seems to block you in this regard.)

    - losing complete conenction to a session (and by that all the unsaved kills and XP)

    - any teammate running near/next to you will block your movement, forcing you to go the wrong direction, simulating a really bad lag

    - your framerate can drop from a steady 90fps to a screen frozen for 3 seconds ramdomly at every moment

    - the "physics" are so bad, you constantly outcry in disbelief that what just happened made the the ragdoll behave like it did. Golden Eye 64 had more realistic looking deaths.

    - the Ripper (DLC weapon) feels like pay-2-win

    - your menu can have heavy, randome slowdowns

    - the audio is suttering

    - your mouse feels like it's skipping over the screen

    Even on a power-beast of a computer, this game runs like it's the leaked beta of Crysis 5.

    But the Graphics actually don't look that bad if you turn everything on ultra.
    It sure is o Battlefield 3, but I think it looks much better than Counter Strike : Global Offensive.

    It's really a shame, because if all those problems weren't, this game would have some nice multiplayer, and I would give it a 8/10.
    I really love the maps, the weapons and items, the mechanics and balancing, the game mods and timing. But it's just not playable. And Infinity Ward doesn't care about that. The game is out, they made some small patches, defended their lies and released some expensive DLC. Now they moved to their next project, leaving behind the idiots whom bought this game.

    This was the first CoD by Infinity Ward that I've bought.

Music is not very bad. I don't want to say anything that about this game, but you can summarize! The gameplay is 6-10. Chart 3-10. The story of 4.5-10. Multiplayer 5-10. It is a failure!!!

Considering they ran it on Xbox 360 and PS3 it clearly shows that it didn't need or have to be 64-bit on PC. If anything, I think it's just a cheap marketing tactic to trick people into thinking that the engine has been upgraded when it hasn't at all.

    The graphics are pretty much the same, fairly low resolution textures, the same shadows, everything.

    It's very disappointing. If anything, Ghosts is a step backwards because they user interface is slightly more confusing adding along a point system to save up and buy weapons to make everyone diverse in terms of weapons and equipment.

    As for the port, it's quite bad. The frame rate goes up and down like a yo-yo because it's been optimised poorly. You need to turn off a few options to get decent frame rate as well as set all the textures to 'extra' as they're blurry if set to automatic. Although, I will say I do like that they've added multiple options for anti-aliasing such as FXAA and MSAA as well as MLAA which I think all developers should include in their games as I really don't like FXAA because it looks awful. Although I will say the only game I think has done a decent job at FXAA is Bioshock Infinite but anyway...

    Overall, it's a fairly bad port, pretty much the same game, small maps, simply bad. Hey, guess what they're going to do in the next Call of Duty... That's right. The exact same thing! They'll sucker you into their marketing tactics just like Ghosts. That is, if you keep buying the exact same game every year which I hope you dont.    … Expand

    Brutally poor optimization for the PC port. Was barely playable at launch and they really didn't make much of an attempt to improve it by the end of it's run as the latest Call of Duty title. Hands down, one of the worst Call of Duty experiences I've had... and I played Modern Warfare 3.

The game doesn't look, "Next-Gen". The game looks washed out, and some of these textures are downright ugly and hideous. Some of them are so bad that I feel like I'm playing a game on a PS2!
    If you want to get this game, you should wait for the price to drop... Activision please. Thankfully, I only got this game for $40 plus tax. Which isn't bad at all.

    Multiplayer is has some issues:
    1. Not that much weapon and attachments variety (less weapons than in prev. games), no proficiencies, little to NO weapon customization costs squad points). And still around 10% of the weapons are ok. In every class there's one good weapon, and 3 just for the sake of a "variety". In simple TDM you need absolutely no attachments, one good weapon, secondary are also unnescessary, nades and tacticals should also be switched for perk slots, it's really useless.
    2. Perk system works fine but there still no that much impact on the game (for example, full Specialist in MW3 was a Rambo, but here, it's just an OKAY bonus, IMO).
    3. Experience system is nedlessly complicated so it would take more time to advance. There's no reason to torture yourself with it. LVLing up does absolutely nothing, the challenges are ridiculous. You have a customization option but you can't really unlock anything so well. It's easier to hack squad points, but everything you might need and play. Camos unlocks are also bad, IMO.
    4. Squads are useless. I don't know about the clans, cause I play alone, maybe it's ok. Extinction is okay. Co-op survival is ok, but it's hard to find a server, nobody plays it.
    5. Maps are ok, with some exceptions. There are two bad maps, Stonehaven for it's campy design and Siege cause it's like 5x size of a normal map, at times you can't even find a single enemy for minutes.
    6. Killstreaks. Support streaks have 3 good items: SATcom, Ammo crate for fun and the Vests. Everything else is useless. Assault is good only for a heli, sometimes a dog can come in handy, but it dies fast. Maniac is also fun though. Not that much to choose from. 1/2 good combinations of Support and Assault ones. Specialist is a waste of kills.
    Overall: it's a half of an overpriced DLC for MW3.
    An OK singleplayer campaign. (amazing if you compare it to Battlefield 4).
    Less variety and combinations, nothing to experiment with in multiplayer.
    No reason to LVLup. No reason to get better.
    For a true fan of series, it gets boring in about 2-3 days.    … Expand

    I'm not the type to be hypercritical of a game because I know how much work goes into making them and I understand the type of hell most game designers have to go through to do their job, that being said... This game took me around thirty minutes to install FROM THE DISK and once it was installed the game's performance was so poor I quit playing after around two hours. The graphics areI'm not the type to be hypercritical of a game because I know how much work goes into making them and I understand the type of hell most game designers have to go through to do their job, that being said... This game took me around thirty minutes to install FROM THE DISK and once it was installed the game's performance was so poor I quit playing after around two hours. The graphics are some of the worst I've seen in 'next-gen' or 'current gen' games, the gameplay is stale and lifeless overall this game is not only a HUGE disappointment but also one of my most regretted gaming purchases and I would not suggest it to anyone, the only reason it's getting a 2 and not a lower score is because the core mechanics of the game are present even if they don't work.

    Totally not optimized for PC. Even on high-end rig, this game still lags and freezes. Not acceptable. My breakdown is as follows:

    1. Graphics: 2/10 - poor due to direct port to PC with no optimization 2. Gameplay: 2/10 - lack of innovation, significantly affected by low performance on PC 3. Story: 2/10 - the very definition of "trying too hard" 4. Multiplayer: 2/10 - more of the same    Totally not optimized for PC. Even on high-end rig, this game still lags and freezes. Not acceptable.     are you kidding me, is this the competetor of bf4, are you kidding me, listen to me i was a big fan of cod i despised the battlefield series last year, i loved mw3 and bo2 ohhh bo2 what a great game i gave that game a10/10 and i got a lot of dislikes but bo2 was good optimized with a great story, awsome zombie mode and one of the best multipalyers, hell it even had better graphics, thisare you kidding me, is this the competetor of bf4, are you kidding me, listen to me i was a big fan of cod i despised the battlefield series last year, i loved mw3 and bo2 ohhh bo2 what a great game i gave that game a10/10 and i got a lot of dislikes but bo2 was good optimized with a great story, awsome zombie mode and one of the best multipalyers, hell it even had better graphics, this game is as bad optimized as assassins creed iv black flag but at least it was a great game and i got my r9 290 yesterday so i could play ac iv on 60 fps on ultra but this 50-90 fps and although its faster than ac iv its much ugly than ac iv, its uglier than bo2, but bo2 wasnt a ugly game as i mantioned earlier in the review bo2 was a great looking game and it looked much better than ghosts, now lets not talk only about the graphics and lets get to the siglelplyer first: terrible, the campaign isnt fun at all, although almost every fps campaign is mediocre i still love those campaign because i can just shoot people for hours, and black ops 2 nailed it, because in bo2 treyarch knew that the only thing that metters in the campaign is the shooting, so they did that because they thought they whould have a horrible story, you know what it tuns out that even the story ended up great for treyarch in bo2 but infinty ward brought such an horrible campaign in ghosts, the shooting ended up not fun at all and so did the story, but thats not the main event the multiplayer: well let me tell you: awful as well, there is so much lags its unbeliveble, i much enjoyed bf4 and dice pooted their mark on me with bf4 such a great game in compare to this piece of you can watch my review about bf4 i gave it a 10/10. so the multiplayer isnt fun at all. and again there is so much camping its unbeliveble. now lets get get to the third out of four modes in the game: the extinction mode: well it isnt that bad but i cant say its good cause all they did is to copy treyarch great zombie mode and to resell it as a worse mod with repititive gameplay with aliens, so it gives the game 1 point not more.
    now lest: squads: well i didnt play it that much but from what i played it isnt that bad, but it isnt as good either and it gets the game 0.5 point so for now we have 1.5/10 but i will give it a 2/10 because i am giving it a 0.5 point on the gameplay that wasnt that bad it was ok compared to bo2. so for conclousin a 2/10 dont buy ghosts unless you will find it with 5$ price which whould probably whouldnt happaned, but bf4 and i am reccomending it even to cod player that think the same as i think on ghosts, i was a cod fan much more than battlefield but with this against the best fps i have ever played (bf4) it doesnt stand a chance, infinty ward once was my favorite dev for cod but with bo2 release last year that was a treyarch game and was the best in the franchise from my opinion, and then a year later the worst cod in the series from my opinion was developed by infinity ward treyarch became my favorite devs for cod, so a 2/10 and even cod fans buy bf4 instead of this crap, i am a huge cod fan and i much enjoyed bf4 than ghosts so i think that even you (cod players) will enjoy bf4 and will preffer it from ghosts.    … Expand

    This is a very bad game, and a terrible port for the PC.
    The graphics are rather weak and dated, but despite this, the game runs very poorly.
    There are connection issues, and a lot of lag.

I was hoping to get a new version with more options, less unfair crap in multiplayer, and better graphics. This isn't it.

    Been playing COD since the beginning. My ritual of annual disappointment in November continues. COD4 was fantastic. MW2 was very good too. But it seem like the last few years have been all down hill. The graphics are cartoonish, the maps are confusing and convaluted. The lag is unbearable.     Price of 60 Us dollars or 60 Euros is to much for the game that is purely MP. Four hour of SP huge disappointment, Not to say that Hardened Edition is 120 Us Dollars or Euros. In one word this is just BAD! I am sorry but you lost me as a future buyer of your new games.

It's like they struggled to come up with anything new, then thought it would be a good idea to replace a controllable drown with controllable dog. That's all the dog essentially is, a drone with 4 feet that can detect things from the ground instead of from the air. They even go as far adding a REVERSE breach.This is basically just a rework of Modern Warfare 2 with a dog thrown in there. Playing through is full of deja-vu, you feel like you have played every mission a million and one times over. There's a sneeky stealthy bit, a sniper bit, a bit where you try to escape while shooting from the back of a veichle etc etc etc, it's the same old thing. The graphics are also a step down from Black Ops 2. The multiplayer is the same as ever. I sat playing Modern Warfare 3 online over the weekend and, while playing COD Ghosts online i often forgot it was COD Ghosts, i thought i was playing Modern Warfare 3 still. It also feels odd without Captain Price and the SAS boys, i really miss them. When Ghosts was announced i got super excited thinking Ghost from the Modern Warfae would feauture in it, but sadly not. Instead they took the Ghosts theme, added a dog named Riley after Gaz and Ghost from the Modern Warfare series, reworked the story of Modern Warfare 2, then try to charge us £40 to £60 for it. Its just the same thing from MW1. Full of 12 year old **** and it gets boring in a day. There is very little destructible environment compared to BF4.     Ok now besides the fail graphics and stuff the PC version so Called Pre-load Just totally wasted24 GB that when u launch the game it totally deletes and re download 24GB Which took my like 2 Days

Back when you paid 60$ for a full game and no 15$ map packs, back when the developers made actual expansion packs with new story line and new maps and not only 4 maps.
    So after such a long time I decided to    First of all I have played the old COD 1 en 2 on the pc.     So after such a long time I decided to get the newest installment because they hired a good writer to write this game. (I have not played black ops or any of the other cod's)

    The sad thing is that Activision hired Stephen Gaghan to do the writing but there isn't much dialogue in this game. You basically have an idea of what the story is about but you are shooting most of the time, there is no connections with the characters and the campaign is too short. The missions are varied but we have seen them in the previous COD's. All COD's have climbing down from a window and then shoot the guys inside the room, the snow missions are getting repetitive, the underwater mission is nice but we also had that. Also the 40gb install and 6gb of ram are just lazy coding or maybe all the DLC's are already installed and need a 15$ code to unlock it.

    The multiplayer is just a recycle of previous modern warfare's it seems: Same animation kill, reloading animation, same guns and knifing feels like you poke someone. The kill streaks are stupid because you can see the enemy on the radar and the dog attack is just overpowered.

    The multiplayer component would be a rock-solid title if it were not for the incredibly aggressive anti-lag tech being applied to the game.     The anti-lag tech produces effects where your actions can be up to 2 seconds behind an opponent, giving you little hope to win in a face to face gun battle. It also impacts general hit registration. Hilariously, some guns are exempt from this. That being said, I can't in good conscience recommend a game that still has this problem after several iterations.    … Expand
