    Against all odds, Bubsy 4D is an incredible 3D platformer. I promise this isn't a bad joke, although there are plenty of them here.

    Bubsy 4D is an unexpectedly excellent revival that transforms one of gaming’s most infamous mascots into the star of a genuinely terrific 3D platformer. Fabraz delivers expressive movement, tightly interconnected mechanics, inventive level design, and replay-focused progression that make every stage consistently engaging. While the self-aware humor and surprisingly sincere tone help Bubsy feel more likable than ever, the adventure ends far too soon, leaving its strongest ideas feeling slightly underexplored. Even so, Bubsy 4D stands as the franchise’s best outing by a landslide and one of the year’s most refreshing platformers.

    Bubsy 4D is a brilliant reboot of the much maligned moggy's game series. With imaginative level design, fluid controls, a solidly funny script, and a decent challenge, it provides a challenge for fans of the genre. However, as fluid as the controls can feel slippery at times, and there are certain gameplay elements that don't feel well integrated into the game. Regardless, this is a fantastic adventure for the feline, and I hope to see more in the future.

    Bubsy 4D is definitely the best game in the franchise. That may not be a particularly high hurdle to clear, but Fabraz did so with ease and raised the bar considerably for any upcoming title to follow. It has a great movement system and finally gives Bubsy an identity that's more than just memes, despite being maybe just a tad too short. It's an easy recommendation for fans of arcade titles and guaranteed to be worth the time for any platformer aficionado.
