BlindF.May 1, 2009Simply one of the greatest games I ever played to this day. Even though it could be longer this game left me absolutely speechless while playing and showed me that you don't need a big budget or a big team to achieve such a wonderful experience.

DaneilHJan 12, 2010This is a wonderful game. Quite possibly the best indie game of all time. Life changing with its genius in gameplay and story.

FrancTJan 3, 2010Braid is not a video game, it is poetry. More words to describe this game: love, growth, beauty. This is by far the best game design I have ever seen.

JustinLMay 10, 2009Puzzle/platformers aren't really my thing but I thought this game was amazing. Possibly the first one I've played where it's obvious that the developers were seriously trying to identify and make use of the singularity of the video game medium.

BrandonHDec 20, 2009Braid is an unforgettable experience with its unique art-design, fantastically original puzzles, simple yet captivating story, very responsive gameplay, and its absolutely amazing soundtrack. This games soundtrack is in my top 10. Definitely buy this game you will not regret it.

-
StephenMDec 30, 2009This side-scroller is one of the most mind expanding (and best) experiences I have ever had from a computer game. Be sure to give it the attention it deserves; just because you reached some sort of conclusion does not mean you have seen everything this work of art has to offer.

-
GeorgeV.Oct 31, 2009I love this game. It is fun, original and has brilliant puzzles. Some puzzles are very challenging, some a bit easier. With some patience you will be able to solve them all without having consult a walkthrough. And it's there for a great price. My #1 for this year!

MatthewAustinApr 18, 2009This is truly an exceptional game. With its stunning, painted visuals, novel mechanics, and story that borders on literature, it is the kind of thing that could only come from an independent publisher, and a must have if want more from a game than jumping on the heads of little coconuts.
-
-
EvanHApr 22, 2009Purely amazing the innovation was in the presentation of it and the proof that the little guy with the big idea can make it in the game industry is an inspiration to independent game devs.

BrendanSep 10, 2009Probably the best storyline of any video game I've ever played (Even better than Knights of the Old Republic). It's amazing how well the developer has done all of the aspects of this game perfectly, with no assistance of a big-name publisher. Hour's of fun (And frustration at times, but eh, it's a puzzle game) Definately worth the buy.

ErichvonEDec 25, 2009Absolutely remarkable. The time and effort that has gone into such a simple, yet amazingly complex platform like this is amazing. I am completely enchanted. Braid has succeeded in reviving the wonder and captivation I had for the early video games when I was a young boy. Beautiful in every way.

KeeganBNov 18, 2009If I had to convince a non-gamer that games can be beautiful, artistic masterpieces, and I could only give them one game to do so, that game would be Braid.

Dec 22, 2010Challenging, fun and a beautiful few hours of game play. For the price it is a game everyone should play. It could be longer, but it is only a cheap indie game and a stunning one at that.
-
Jan 11, 2011Braid is Super Mario Brothers out for a bender and high on a hefty dose of Acid. The Acid trip starts slowly; the first few levels are quite normal and conform to the basic platform idea. Then some weirdness starts to sneak up on youâ
-
Apr 29, 2011Good and original mechanics, awesome art style, good music, challenging (but not impossible) puzles, nice story with a surprising ending. One of the best, if not the best, indie game I've ever played. It's not a superproduction but it's what a video game should be. In this age of clones of remakes of copies, originality and imagination is not dead yet thanks to games like this one.
-
Mar 14, 2011Braid is yet another fine game I have played. I love the character design, the sytle, the story, the gameplay, the level design, and most of all the reversing feature. That feature became the most innovative feature on a platformer in my opinion.

Dec 19, 2012I didn't like this game at first, mostly because I didn't want to be a little guy in a suit and tie. But once I gave it a chance, it grew on me. The style is distinctive and memorable. The idea of tying a time-rewinding game mechanic to a guilt-oriented storyline worked very well. Each new group of levels presented an interesting new twist. If you like cerebral puzzle games, you'll like this.

Feb 15, 2012Best game ever made. It is so great in so many ways!
- Story is probably the best in a platform game ever. Probably one of the best stories in a game ever.
- The graphics are amazing.
- The soundtrack may very well be one of the best soundtracks ever made for a game. -
Feb 27, 2014Braid is a game that will never get old. It's like a beautiful dream of an outstanding magical painting. A masterpiece that should be in my good stuff collection.
-
Apr 15, 2012Very challenging puzzle game, lovely design and very innovative game-play! One of the greatest platformers or even greatest games ever, a real masterpiece.
-
May 20, 2012One of the few games I think could qualify as "Art". This game integrates gameplay and narrative perfectly. The puzzles are some of the best I've seen in a game to this day.
-
Jul 11, 2012This is what happens when a very intelligent gentleman gets his hands on state-of-the-art gaming technology. The concept of this game is the most unique thing ever to meet my eyes, and that's saying a lot. The art-style of this game is so soothing, it kinda makes you want to... Zzz...
If you have some money to spare... Buy. This. Game. -
Jul 28, 2012This game is perfect. An interesting story, nice controls, time puzzles that are well done and a great set of secret stars to find. .@SeamusB. Bad controls? Did you try to play this game with a toaster? A turd? A potato? Are you mentally retarded? People only insult this game because they are too stupid to figure out how to walk and go into a trolling rampage.

Oct 5, 2012One of the greatest games I have ever played. It mixtures art, music and puzzles in a way i have never seen before. There is an incredible number of references to other games (i interpreted them as homage). The story, the music and the challenges will keep you involved until you find an amazing, twisted and mind blowing ending .

Oct 6, 2012One of the few games that one can play even in 2020 or 2050. Why? Because the story doesn't get old. Because the puzzles are challenging. Because the creator, mister Blow, put his heart into it and shows a fragile piece of thoughts we humans might have when in relations with other people. Music, colour and the written pages of an excellent writer makes this a timeless game! 10!

Aug 21, 2013Impressive graphic design, impressive and unique gameplay, a challenge that needs you to think the time as a real dimension, related to the space.

Feb 28, 2014Amazing game, it's also the most beautiful poetry, Jonathan Blow definetively made it, one of the best games ever.
The unique stuff that I don't like about the game, is the lack of graphical options, I.E., changing resolution, changing and other stuff, I managed to turn off Vsync and increase FPS by command line settings. -
Jan 5, 2014I like everything! Gameplay. music, story, ambiance, etc. You should play this game if it is not already done!
An essential game if you are beginning to play to indie games. -
Feb 4, 2016Braid is a master piece. Took me a while to try it, because I thought most people was overreacting. Once I tried it the game totally got me. The way puzzles, story, music, mechanics, etc. work together is something that I rarely see in other games. Great game.

May 21, 2021To be honest, probably the best puzzle game I have ever played, maybe even more than Portal 2. I love this game, it’s vague “up to interpretation” story, it’s fantastically designed puzzles, everything about this game is great.

OllieCApr 13, 2009Essentially Super Mario for the PC with different graphics - in fact when my girlfriend saw me playing she did a double take and said "oh I thought it was Mario!". The game has a great dreamy, arty feel, and the controls and gameplay are both something Miyamoto would be proud of. Support indie games and buy it off Steam!

chadJul 26, 2009Briad is the best game I've played in a long time. The unique controls make it challenging without the frustrating exact timing requirements of many games. I gave it a 9 instead of a 10 simple because it was a little short. This game is money well spent.

Sep 24, 2010A great game, plays without a single flaw. Why give it 9 then? Well it has not got a great story, and can get a bit confusing on your first play through. It has great replay value, takes away all of the annoying niggles that are present in a lot of platformers and is practically just pure fun!

Jun 2, 2012This is really awesome game. Innovative puzzle levels and gameplay. Starting from world 5 this game become really challenging. This is also the thing I don't like in this game. It start to be less puzzle and more platformer as you progress.

360 gamers were frothing at the mouth for good reason: it’s an instant indie classic.
-
In an age when many games feel like clones of one another or are designed to be easy to beat, Braid sticks to its guns and delivers a rewarding and memorable experience that's definitely worth checking out. It's like an invigorating breath of fresh air, and proof that a handful of independent developers can create games that raise the bar for others.
-
It doesn’t just copy a certain plumber’s early adventures verbatim like so many before it – some of them excellent in their own right – did, but seeks to plant the seeds of growth that the genre has lacked for so many years in showing that, by imprinting its own identity on a well weathered template, incredible things can happen.
