Great gameplay is almost (but not quite) enough to save a game that's desperately thin on content, context, and replayability. Maybe this game is a few updates away from greatness. Probably not.

BPM is not a bad game. It is a game that I'd really wish I could love. But let's be honest; it really lacks a proper 'Easy' difficulty setting.
I love the concept. I love trying to get to the first boss, but after 4 hours of not managing to beat it (the first of the six or so bosses of the first world, if I understand it well...), well, the fun is totally dissolved into frustration. And

Not everyone is a pro gamer breezing through Doom in Nightmare Setting blindfolded.
I accept difficulty, I have a problem with exaggerated elitism.

This is quite possibly the worst shooter experience I had in my life. Even Bodycount was better.

Fun game and great music. Aesthetic and style of the game is also good. Balance and longevity needs some work.

Hampered by the fact that it's a roguelike. Very solid soundtrack and gameplay that would be more enjoyable if 4 mistakes didn't send you back to the start of the game. Heavily reliant on a good seed. Crypt of the Necrodancer was better as Cadence of Hyrule, and I look forward to a more well-balanced, better-paced version of this game with an actual difficulty curve.

The graphics are (deliberately?) oversaturated and washed out, even after adjusting the settings. Everything is just slightly different shades of one color.

Range on weapons is a joke. Starting pistol isn't a gun it's a **** club. If your enemy is out of melee range your bullets vanish.

    Neat idea, poor execution.

I absolutely loathe the graphical style. OMG it is so bad. But, you know what? That is totally irrelevant right now. This game is so much fun and so addictive. Two caveats: if you don't enjoy hard rock music then you may struggle to enjoy this experience (I wouldn't listen to the soundtrack outside of playing the game but I can enjoy it enough while playing), and it is a particularly difficult shooter even on "easy" mode. But oh so much fun. Just watch, musicians of all stripes, shapes and sizes are going to want on this bandwagon for interactive music entertainment. The best element of this game? Without a question, it is the ability to regenerate in a new level each time you die. Don’t get me wrong. You don’t want to die. Ever. But at least you don't do the same enemies time and time again, whenever you die. Another smart feature they implemented is to play really, really annoying sounds after you die. The best way to avoid that sound is to quickly launch into another game before you have time to think about whether you want another round of mayhem. And it works beautifully. Expand

Short game with little content (even for rougelite). Graphic design hurts eyes. Rooms and enemies are boring. Some weapons or items ruining the game (run) - it's ok in TBOI, but BPM is no match the amount of varieties of items and their effects.

Cool game. Awesome music, really gets you into the rhythm and it's hard to stop. However, my eyes are bleeding from so much orange...
Besides, not much reason to play BPM now when Metal: Hellsinger exists.

Phenomenal game. I love the rhythm and challenge it brings to the table. The game is not perfect by any means, but I think the sheer creativity and uniqueness this game has makes this a masterpiece for $20. I'm not even rly into this kind of music, but holy crap do I love it here. If you like something like Doom and love that sort of music I couldn't recommend it to you more

This is a love me or hate me game. If the soundtrack and gameplay clicks for you, you will have a great time and the flaws wont bother so much. Hopefully overtime the devs can update the ui and balancing so the game feel better balanced and polished. I am having a blast playing it!! Its been awhile since I had so much fun. Also, its a rather cheap game so you can easily give it a chance.

The game isn't perfect, it's still very much finding where it stands but it's a fantastic concept and it executes it well, stick with this game and support the developer, it deserves to be worked on further.

The gameplay is challenging and fun. The music is really nice and makes the rhythm shooting all the more fun. Great rogue-like shooter with an interesting twist. The game is really elevated by the energetic music. Bit of a learning curve at the beginning but after a few runs you start to automatically sync your actions to the beat.
Only complaint is that in the last levels it's harder to clear standard rooms than defeating the bosses.

Great idea, pretty nice visual style (especially Asgard Crypts), and of course very cool soundtrack.

A fun arcade rhythm game that took a dozen or so tries for me to get the hang of, and then two days to beat with one of the playable characters. I don't the point of trying to beat it again, but I still occasionally play it as a warm up for playing something else. Also, music's banging.

I never could seem to quite get down how to play this game. I like the idea in concept, but playing it might have turned me off from all rhythm shooters entirely.

It's not bad, but I just don't think it's for me.

On one hand, BPM: Bullets Per Minute is a neat mix of FPS and rhythm gameplay. On the other one, it's a terribly unbalanced roguelike that is also in dire need of variety. Throw all these in a bowl, and the end result is a soup with a couple of ingredients that shouldn't be here… but, somehow the taste remains pretty darn good. After all, how can you go wrong with a game where you are in control of a Valkyrie that blasts monsters in Asgard with her shotgun, in sync with some fine heavy metal.

After many tries, I did eventually find my way to and through the final boss, and all I wanted to do was do it again. I suppose in a lot of ways, that’s just the nature of roguelike games. They often offer a near bottomless replay value thanks to the “structured but random” structure of the format. This combined with the joy of bobbing your head along and clicking when you do so makes the experience a ton of fun and feel great. The quantity of content isn’t huge, but for $20 USD, I certainly think it is well worth the money.

BPM: Bullets Per Minute is a fun shooter with a banging soundtrack, but its roguelike elements feel a tad undercooked. Still, where else can you dance around like a demon slayer while tearing through the hordes of hell, shooting on the beat and keeping the party going?
