Fustercluck doesn't add anything that feels super new, it at least offers up an incredibly Borderlands-y expansion filled with meat chunks and silly weapons - and it's the only game this year that'll let you shoot down the actual moon, go on a mini quest to retrieve it, load it into a catapult and use it to batter down the walls of a meat castle. So, y'know, there's that.

One year after the release of Borderlands 3, the fourth dlc ends a journey made of fan service and emotions. A splendid journey for all fans, much less for those unfamiliar with the past of the series.

This fourth additional campaign for Borderlands 3 is undoubtedly not the most generous in terms of content, but remains very successful thanks to a good story, a very endearing duo of characters (the two Kriegs) and humor bordering on the absurd that hits the mark.

Although it can feel slow-going at times, Borderlands 3: Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck benefits from its lore-heavy framework and a clear focus on one major character.

In short, it is a good addition able to offer fans a few hours of frenetic fun, while failing to concretely raise the standards of a not exactly exciting post-launch path.

Borderlands 3: Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck is a bizarre odyssey through Kreig’s cranium that holds one great boss battle but few other surprises.

Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck had a lot going for it based on its premise, but retreaded enemies and mostly underwhelming locations let down an otherwise fun expansion.

There just isn’t a whole lot here compared to past entries. No new enemies, minimal loot drops across two completions, repurposed geometry to make new areas, five skill points instead of the rumored full fourth skill tree that should be coming later. I thought this would end up being one of the most substantial DLCs to date, but instead, I definitely think it’s the least. The writing is good, but everything else is somewhat lacking here.

Having to sit and listen to characters for 5 minutes straight STILL before you can do anything, and then being able to just run through most areas is laughable, honestly it is some of the dumbest **** I've seen out of this staff. This was your 4th attempt to get a DLC right, and instead you turned it into the most boring, over fan serviced **** show you could imagine. The side mission about burying Krieg's buzz axe is every side mission pretty much. "Hey krieg, oh, we're sitting here... doing nothing.... just talking still.... okay now i spam E and the mission is done." (seriously, how could you mess up side missions so badly?) Then you just had to try and emotion bait everyone with Maya, ya know, the character you completely screwed over in the main story for no real well thought out reason? The "themes" or "lessons" you tried ham-fisting through this DLC felt more like being read a children's book about growing up, than seeing how a psycho comes to term with loss and grief of a loved one he was never truly able to confess too. For the love of god Gearbox, what are your writers smoking? Full Review »
