Came across this freebie download by chance. I had fond memories of the original game, and so far - Im on Chapter 5 - it more than matches the other, better DLCs for the game. The story is secondary, vaguely similar to the General Knoxx DLC in the first Borderlands game, with a lighter zombie vibe than the Dr Ned DLC.
However that is not what you are playing for. The humor is still there

The story is secondary, vaguely similar to the General Knoxx DLC in the first Borderlands game, with a lighter zombie vibe than the Dr Ned DLC.
However that is not what you are playing for. The humor is still there and there are enough side missions to satisfy in the short playing time. But the main thing is - LOOT! Still there, but Im not picking up anything memorable. Sort-of midgame level weapons so far, topping out at $10000 as is the level of the enemies. Occaisonal standout rare items worth $60000+. I picked up the new Effervescent rainbow Assault Rifle pretty early on and its a ripper! Seems to drop at random compared to other stories where people have got it.
The new High definition graphics also make an impression, rendering more gloomy dungeons and high definition landscapes. Makes the SweetFX graphic enhancements I used five years ago sort-of obsolete.
If you want a memorable replay of this 5 year old game in new settings, and revisit old characters like Mordecai, Tiny Tina and Ellie, then play this - its free!

DISCLAIMER: This DLC was free when I played it.

As a free DLC it was much better than my initial expectations, however, as a $14.99 DLC it isn't worth it(Maybe if it's on sale for $5). The writing/dialog/references are cringy and dated, but the overall experience was fun and very rewarding. This is a full fledged expansion that took me a total of 10hrs to complete all missions,

This is a full fledged expansion that took me a total of 10hrs to complete all missions, explore everything, and kill the new raid boss.
In addition, the level cap was raised to 80, new powerful weapons have been added to the loot pool, and rare drop rates seem to be much higher than in the base game.
Also, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention how great the voice acting is for most of the new characters introduced.

    In conclusion,
If Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep is 10 out of 10, then I'd give Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary a solid 8 out of 10.
It truly isn't a bad DLC, but I'm really surprised they came back and gave it a price tag and 15 f*cking smackaroonies at that.
    Not good practices.

Fun decently long (took me and my partner 3 hours) DLC which adds a few other things like a new loot rarity, extra levels and OP levels
    -New achievements
-Adds option to create a new character at level 30
-Adds characters from Tales from the Borderlands, has a few cinematics
-More lore and leads onto the story for Borderlands 3

Only thing is it's a bit pricey

It's a great addon for an already good game, shooting mechanics are 2012 which is to be expected but it is the same borderlands we know and love, people who are saying that it is a bad addon are obviously epic haters and douchebags.

"Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary" is an unexpected and fantastic addition to "Borderlands 2," offering a delightful surprise for fans of the series. It's even more impressive that Gearbox released it as a free DLC during that time, making it an even more welcome treat for players.

This DLC serves as a bridge between the captivating "Tales from the Borderlands" and the much-anticipated "Borderlands 3," making it an absolute must-play for fans invested in the overarching storyline. Notably, it reintroduces a beloved character from "Tales from the Borderlands," creating a sense of nostalgia and excitement for players who cherish that part of the series. Moreover, the introduction of a new rarity for items with fresh animations and colors adds an extra layer of intrigue and variety to the gameplay.

While the story and gameplay may not reach the same heights as the iconic "Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep," they are by no means subpar. "Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary" still delivers an engaging and enjoyable experience that holds its own within the "Borderlands" universe. Though it may not be as mindblowing as some of the other DLCs, I personally found it interesting and fun, and it left me fully satisfied with the overall experience.

The great news is Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary DLC is more of the funny, loot-happy Borderlands 2 we know and love. It's a lot of fun and a novel way build anticipation for the sequel.
