People keep on saying that Destiny 2 will be dead when Borderlands 3 comes out and to be honest there was some concern from me, but that has been extinguished for me now. Originally, I picked up Destiny 2 and immediately put it down as I found it boring and unengaging. Over the past couple of expansions I've found more to do in it and like the playstyle and all the different offerings that it has such as PvP, PvE, Gambit, and even now lesser so Menagerie. But I fondly remember days of playing the original Borderlands and Borderlands 2, even though it's been awhile. I feel like in the run up to Borderlands 3 the worst thing Gearbox could have done is release Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary.

It's been years since I last played Borderlands 2, but I have one of each class through normal campaign and raised to level 50; for the life of me I couldn't remember how to do anything when I picked the game back up for this expansion. When I did finally figure out my controls and moves again, there was a little bit of a let down for me. My farthest along and first character was an assassin and I'd completely forgot his move set. When I figured out that his class ability was F it was a let down to remember that it was a decoy ability. There was no barrage of knives or grandiose going invisible and slashing people before they could react you went invisible sent out a decoy walked around for 5s and then shot somebody...and then they shot you back and then you shot them back until somebody died. It was kind of a let down. Then I remembered about how there are supposed to be thousands of guns in the new game and then I remembered about how everything is super RNGjesusy in this game and then I remembered about how it's near impossible to get a god-roll on a gun and then I questioned why I was still playing...

    But I kept playing.

I kept on going through the motions expecting something to make it feel like old times but nothing ever hit. I left the game with a decent kit and 20 keys to open boxes with. I'd heard there was a new tier of guns, "rainbow", so I expected I would get them throughout playing. I rarely picked one up. I got one, an assault rifle that did flame damage. It was amazing against most things but still seemed like unsatisfactory damage. I felt like I had to burst most enemies, even standard enemies, down with my rocket launcher.

Everything reloads amazingly slow, which made me miss my hunter dodge to reload or my titan barrier. The trees are long since forgotten for me and then even when skimming over them the only thing I could think was "who cares about a 1% increase in that..."

The only thing I was super happy to see again was Tiny Tina. F Cayde-6(Tiny Tina > Cayde-6), give me Tiny Tina. If Uldren Sov had shot Tiny Tina I would have found a way to go Tron and extract my pounds of flesh upon him.

Basically, this just seems like such a slow game to me now. It's like a turn-based card game vs WoW. If Borderlands 3 is more of the same I want nothing to do with it. This is all aside from how I feel about their choice to make it a Epic Store Exclusive(terrible idea).

Came across this freebie download by chance. I had fond memories of the original game, and so far - Im on Chapter 5 - it more than matches the other, better DLCs for the game. The story is secondary, vaguely similar to the General Knoxx DLC in the first Borderlands game, with a lighter zombie vibe than the Dr Ned DLC.
However that is not what you are playing for. The humor is still there

However that is not what you are playing for. The humor is still there and there are enough side missions to satisfy in the short playing time. But the main thing is - LOOT! Still there, but Im not picking up anything memorable. Sort-of midgame level weapons so far, topping out at $10000 as is the level of the enemies. Occaisonal standout rare items worth $60000+. I picked up the new Effervescent rainbow Assault Rifle pretty early on and its a ripper! Seems to drop at random compared to other stories where people have got it.
The new High definition graphics also make an impression, rendering more gloomy dungeons and high definition landscapes. Makes the SweetFX graphic enhancements I used five years ago sort-of obsolete.
If you want a memorable replay of this 5 year old game in new settings, and revisit old characters like Mordecai, Tiny Tina and Ellie, then play this - its free!

DISCLAIMER: This DLC was free when I played it.
    *STEAM*
As a free DLC it was much better than my initial expectations, however, as a $14.99 DLC it isn't worth it(Maybe if it's on sale for $5). The writing/dialog/references are cringy and dated, but the overall experience was fun and very rewarding. This is a full fledged expansion that took me a total of 10hrs to complete all missions,

This is a full fledged expansion that took me a total of 10hrs to complete all missions, explore everything, and kill the new raid boss.
In addition, the level cap was raised to 80, new powerful weapons have been added to the loot pool, and rare drop rates seem to be much higher than in the base game.
Also, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention how great the voice acting is for most of the new characters introduced.

    In conclusion,
If Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep is 10 out of 10, then I'd give Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary a solid 8 out of 10.
It truly isn't a bad DLC, but I'm really surprised they came back and gave it a price tag and 15 f*cking smackaroonies at that.
    Not good practices.

Fun decently long (took me and my partner 3 hours) DLC which adds a few other things like a new loot rarity, extra levels and OP levels
    -New achievements
-Adds option to create a new character at level 30
-Adds characters from Tales from the Borderlands, has a few cinematics
-More lore and leads onto the story for Borderlands 3

Only thing is it's a bit pricey

It's a great addon for an already good game, shooting mechanics are 2012 which is to be expected but it is the same borderlands we know and love, people who are saying that it is a bad addon are obviously epic haters and douchebags.

Everything about Borderlands 2 and all of the DLC was epic until this. The dialog was lackluster, the villain redonkulous, many characters no longer remained in their original character, and quests felt like errand boy quests much of the time. I also acquired more legendary and pearl blue drops in this short dlc than the entire game and other dlc combined.

I do not know why this DLC

I do not know why this DLC feels so removed from the rest of the game, but it does not have the same experience. I could go on, but the game came out many years ago, and I am sure the point is moot. Just remember to not judge the rest of the game on this DLC, the only bad part of all Borderlands 2.

This DLC serves as a bridge between the captivating "Tales from the Borderlands" and the much-anticipated "Borderlands 3," making it an absolute must-play for fans invested in the overarching storyline. Notably, it reintroduces a beloved character from "Tales from the Borderlands," creating a sense of nostalgia and excitement for players who cherish that part of the series. Moreover, the introduction of a new rarity for items with fresh animations and colors adds an extra layer of intrigue and variety to the gameplay.

While the story and gameplay may not reach the same heights as the iconic "Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep," they are by no means subpar. "Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary" still delivers an engaging and enjoyable experience that holds its own within the "Borderlands" universe. Though it may not be as mindblowing as some of the other DLCs, I personally found it interesting and fun, and it left me fully satisfied with the overall experience.

The great news is Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary DLC is more of the funny, loot-happy Borderlands 2 we know and love. It's a lot of fun and a novel way build anticipation for the sequel.
