    This is my personal best VR video game ever made. The atmosphere, music, fighting, enemies, everything is on top. I didn't regret at all that I played and finished this game and even the hidden story behind this game is very amazing.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is a Vr games revolution. It is the real future of Vr gaming. Even if some bugs are present, which are very rare to see, the physics are incredible compared to others Vr games. The immersion is here, and is incredible, especially thanks to the mysterious world of MythOs City, and also thanks to the musics. Michael Wyckoff has made an incredible work by composing those musics. The fights and the parkour are sometimes difficult but once you played a lot of time, it won't be frutstrating anymore. The lore is hard to understand, but once you watched a video about it, you'll see that it is more than a ordinary game lore, it is really advanced. This game is beautiful, from the beginning, in the museum, in which you discover the basics of the revolutionary physics of this game, until the end where you come to a strange dark room, where a cinematic begins and announces the sad end of this fabulous experience that is this game.… Expand

    Boneworks is an incredible game that, in my opinion, is the BEST VR game, at least that I have played. I don't recommend playing it if you have just recently gotten a headset because you'll get stuck in it and won't be able to play anything else, which is what happened to me, at least until Bonelab came out.

    It has been great to follow the story of this company, Stress Level Zero, and    Boneworks is an incredible game that, in my opinion, is the BEST VR game, at least that I have played. I don't recommend playing it if you have just recently gotten a headset because you'll get stuck in it and won't be able to play anything else, which is what happened to me, at least until Bonelab came out.

    It has been great to follow the story of this company, Stress Level Zero, and see how two people who were making VR videos have evolved so much, to the point of creating what is, in my opinion, and I think in the opinion of many others, the BEST VR game.

    The biggest highlight of Boneworks is the game's physics, which are very well done. The game is divided into 3 modes: Story, which guarantees at least 5 hours of gameplay, that is if you don't get sidetracked like me and start messing with everything, a Sandbox mode, where you can do whatever you want if you unlock all the items during the story mode, and believe me, you will never do that in a single playthrough, and the Arena mode, where hordes of enemies come to attack you. If you have a VR headset, this game is a MUST-HAVE in your library.

    Thanks to Stress Level Zero for creating this masterpiece.

    This game takes VR to the next level. Outstanding graphics, intractability, and level design. The combat is smooth, and it actually feels like you're fighting. Sandbox levels mean you can continue playing this fantastic game even when you finish the story. Modding means that you can do what you want when you want it. Multiple puzzles required to progress have multiple ways to solve them,This game takes VR to the next level. Outstanding graphics, intractability, and level design.     It seems impossible for a game with so many issues to be so unironically fun and replayable. the game has a full 8+ hour campaign that is incredibly fun with lots of collectibles that unlock content in the sandbox mode. It also comes with an arena and (as mentioned above) sandbox mode.

    the physics system is wonderful but very buggy at times. the shooting feels absolutely glorious. when it comes to melee the chopping and stabbing feel good but slicing could use some work, two handed weapons feel clunky but you can get used to them.

    the surface-level story is confusing and bad but the deeper lore is great. some secrets can be confusing and convoluted, and sometimes you'll spend forever on a secret thinking you'll unlock something only to realize it was a false lead and you've been wasting your time. The game is pretty easy on a standard playthrough (besides one level) but gets much harder when trying to unlock certain items which in my opinion is a nice challenge.

    Overall, it takes every fiber of my being to give this a 9 rather than a ten but its flaws just barely keep this game from reaching perfection. Boneworks is the closest we currently have to the technology shown in the critically acclaimed movie Spy Kids 3D.    … Expand

    The game tries too hard to do the actual walking and put weight on the player even though it doesn't work that well. The developers are really good at what they do but they focused on the wrong things.

    If you're looking for a single player shooter and already finished half life alyx, sure get it!

    Let's just put it out there, if you don't have Steam Index controllers, you probably shouldn't bother. I first played this with vive wands, and found most actions impossible to do organically without full finger tracking. With index controllers however, you'll have a good time.

It's an awesome sandbox where everything you could want out of a virtual reality action experience can be found in all of its janky glory. Is it perfect? Well, no.     I'm glad this was my first big VR game and I played this before Into The Radius or Half Life: Alyx. There's something extremely magical about Boneworks, specially your first hour in.

    Definiftely not perfect, and I'm still at the first mission, but I know it deserves a 10/10. For what it is, and the price you can get this for, it's an amazing experience you shouldn't miss out.

    I first got this game in October of last year. I could not really complete the game at first since it was the first game I tried in vr. After building up my vr legs a bit I completed the game, and played a good amount of the sandbox maps and arena. All I have to say is wow.

Looking at some of the earlier reviews, and watching some early gameplay I can tell when this game first came out it was probably worth like a 5/10 due to how buggy it was. But in 2022 I really haven't had any issues with this game, even playing with an i7 and GTX 1650. This game has definitely improved, and the devs of this game should be proud to see how far this game has come from an objectively rough launch.    … Expand

    This game is just a great experience but its nothing for noobs it is not easy it's even frustrating on time. But it is so bizarre that you just need to play it.

    This Game is truly amazing, it´s probably even the future of Gaming, especially the future of VR Gaming.
    The physics are great, the gameplay is great, and even the Story is pretty good, if you look at what the Story actually is.

    This Game gets a 10/10 from me.

    Best VR experience EVER and my favorite VR game other than Beat Saber. Controls Amazing, The guns are amazing and the story is pretty good. This game deserves a higher number. that's all I have to say. good game

    every time I put on my headset the con means one thing and one thing only that is am going to play bone work till I get a headache, I love the lore of the game, all of the mechanics, and interesting physics. the only thing that I wish is that SLZ was paying more attention to this masterpiece of a VR game.

It requires quite a patience as the mechanics are basically unheard of, and with some practice nearly everything feels perfect. The story isn't the best, mostly covered via writing on walls, video calls from co-workers, and cutscenes. When all this breaks though, and you're free to explore the amazing world of MythOS, there really isn't anything quite like it.

    You NEED to play this game if you have a VR headset. I promise if you remain patient, and open to learning new mechanics.

    A real trailblazer for the future of VR with it's large story, amazing physics, and fun combat. It's one of those games where you can go into it expecting to play a few minutes but accually playing until 2022.

    it's good because of the good physics engine
    and also I like how you can just mess around in sandbox
    however the climbing sometimes just does not want to work or maybe its just me

This game, which is mostly intended to be a physics based sandbox, doesn't need an extensive campaign to stand out.     Despite its frustrations and some half-measure design, Boneworks is still a game that is easy to recommend for VR fans. There's a lot about its immersion that other VR games could learn from, and hopefully build an overall better game around.
