totally disappointed in this game after first bloodrayne. Even from first minutes I understood that everything is lost here, starting from level design and graphics and ending weapon equipment and gameplay in general. I remember places where I couldn't get 10-15 minutes what to do next. And after long long time eventually found that it needed just **** shoot with your hook in boss or in some thing. + there was a lot of hard almost impassable levels, where you meet bosses every 5-10 steps and there is no bots to replenish your health. Oh, f*ck this game, so many nerves lost here.
    4/10 for physics of Rayne's breasts :)

You know I find it rather odd, while there was nothing spectacular about the original Bloodrayne I couldn't help but hope that one day they'd release a sequel that would rework, and improve on the problems of the first. Sadly, though, it seems the developers had other ideas. One of which was tossing the idea of using enemy weapons as your own, and just using guns that suck you dry (literally). This among many other really bad ideas made this game unplayable to me as it really just felt like a great idea lost it's soul. Not only all that but sadly they blatantly, super obviously wanted to try and lamely use sex appeal to sell this game as for some reason Rayne got alot of cosmetic surgery and now looks like a super model from hell. Not really why i liked the original, to be frank i rather liked the fact that she wasnt super hot or rather distracting in her beauty in the first game. Anyway, there was alot of things done way better in the first (which had many flaws) and rather then fix them they thought theyd change the idea comepletely and go for Tomb Raider with a bad plot and rediculously aggravating gameplay... try another vampire game this one stinks. What on earth have they done to this game? The combat mechanics have been ruined! The leap was pivotal in the first game - it's gone! The aerial spin move - gone! The hit detection - completely random. It has some gory new finishing moves which wear thin quickly, but the essence which gave the first game it's life is gone! Great combat moves, decant graphics, arcade characteristic commands and action. Story is lame and action is flat and linear. Could have been a great game if devs separated console version from PC. Nevertheless, I can see teenagers enthusiasm about... Bottom line: this should not ever come to PC release.

Very strange game. Old graphics. Bad control. Boring with longer time.

So apparently the idea here was to take everything fun about the original Bloodrayne: interesting locations, villains, intuitive controls, and fun gameplay and just throw it out the window, hoping that gothyness and boobs would pick up the slack. Don't waste your time.

Never in my life have I been so utterly enraged at a game's complete lack of any useful control or idiotic disparity between enemies. Within ten minutes of starting this game up, I wanted my money back. BR1 was a masterstroke of low-to-medium budget game design. Stylish, simple, and sexy, it had its frustrations, but was well worth the twenty bucks I paid for it. The only positive thing I can say about BR2 is that it sure is pretty. Whee. Can't jump, can't kick, and what on earth is the point of having fifty moves if none of them actually DO anything? At least in other button mashers, and definitely in BR1, you could plan a tactic or strategy to counter an enemy's move. BR2? Don't bother. I am in full agreement that this game should never have been released for the PC. I have been cheated out of my money. Expand

A downgrade from the first game. In the first game - Rayne truly feels like a superpowered being that slices through mere mortals with ease and a sarcastic satisfaction - but must still watch out for and dodge anti-tank grenades and other seriously heavy weapons that do get used against her.

A downgrade from the first game. In the first game - Rayne truly feels like a superpowered being that slices through mere mortals with ease and a sarcastic satisfaction - but must still watch out for and dodge anti-tank grenades and other seriously heavy weapons that do get used against her.

In this game, Rayne struggles against guys with iron bars, shovels, and light arms. Using the harpoon multi-directional throw to do solve really stupid scripted scenes is lame. Like, keep throwing bodies into a garbage truck till it "chokes" and... falls on its side. Yeah, it's as dumb as it sounds.

Rayne also became extremely hydrophobic, while in the original game water was mildly burning here it's almost insta-death.

No more weapons to use. The "Carpathian Dragons" blood pistols are pretty much useless from the start. And barely useful if you use cheat codes to upgrade them to max level and refill ammo - but doing that normally would require endless usage of them in their useless modes.

This game is very hard in the wrong, needlessly tedious ways. It has lots of stupid, scripted scenes that don't make logical sense, and you've initially no clue how to get past them - and once you figure it out - you're like "Really? What were the devs smoking to come up with this?". In the original the enemies were hard and there were many ways to take them out.

In this game you're mostly fighting the awkward combat mechanics, and the stupid scripted puzzles, rather than challenging enemies.

Rayne's awesome sarcastic/dark humor is also completely gone. The original game's Thule chapel scene, or the one with the tank-mech boss... Or "The butch-_, khm, pardon me, the Doctor" (c) scene Nothing similar to that in here. The bosses are just lame and also ugly A.F.

Do yourself a favor - play the first game and skip this one.

Awfully long I thought the passage of this game. It's really long and it doesn't do her any good. Since too long, running around the locations cling to the whip and throw enemies in the next window that would go through or something to destroy, the first two hours was fun, but then you just get tired of it a little while longer nothing surprised, and just waiting for the ending. Since too long, running around the locations cling to the whip and throw enemies in the next window that would go through or something to destroy, the first two hours was fun, but then you just get tired of it a little while longer nothing surprised, and just waiting for the ending. And the closer it is the more mini - bosses and not just one-on-one, and two, three and even five or six, and you look at it and understand that the third part came out, for obvious reasons. The first part is a cut above this part, though there was also a long extermination of the Germans, but it was more interesting, more varied, the bosses represented the weight, and the second part will killed the idea at the root and stretched the snot almost 10 hours of gameplay. Separately say that the sound was made videos, screensavers.

  1. A hugely enjoyable, polished action-adventure with buckets and buckets of OTT gore. If you thought "Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines" too cerebral, its slasher B-movie blood relative could HAVE MORE BITE.

It doesn't have much depth, but BloodRayne 2 delivers on its simple promise of offering non-stop carnage. If that sets your blood a-boil, give it a shot. [Oct 2005, p.65]
  3. It's easy on your hardware (mid-range rigs will run it without a hitch) and it offers a sufficient number of gameplay hours. Providing, however, you play it with the right frame of mind.
