All of the technical issues that plagued the original PC release are present in this iteration. All of them. Mouse input (which was easily the worst aspect of the original game) has not seen any fixes in this remaster, the constant audio dropping/stuttering hasn't been fixed, and the game constantly crashes just like the original did when played on newer hardware. Also, game-breaking bugs from roughly a decade ago have remained untouched in this release. The addition of new bugs, like the main menu randomly switching between controller and KBM controls, doesn't help the situation.

The texture work and lighting, while decent in some areas, is actually worse than the original in others. Definitely not up to par with what I've come to expect from remastered games. Worse still is that the advanced graphics settings are COMPLETELY ABSENT from this release even though they were in the original. I don't know what else to call that than a downgrade.

There is still no FOV slider, and there is still no mouse sensitivity slider. Sensitivity is still measured on a 1-10 scale, with 1 being the only "normal" sensitivity, but also being especially bugged for some reason, forcing players to use 2 sensitivity minimum.

So... what exactly was "remastered" in Bioshock Remastered? Certainly none of the things that needed to be. I would have given this effort a 0/10, but then I remembered the addition of the Golden Reels, console-exclusive DLC, and Steam achievements.

Honestly, this game is just sad. It could have been so much better, but the devs decided not to make an effort.

Looks great but still suffers from terrible control issues on PC. Mouse sensitivity is a nightmare. They didn't put any effort into addressing an issue that should have been on the top of their list of essential improvements.

Note: this applys to the remaster of the game as the game itself was great, but this one won't even work.

Simple mods work better than this attempted graphical overhaul. It crashed shortly after starting gameplay. I got to a cut-scene and it froze my whole PC. Couldn't kill the process in any way. Couldn't access task manager or even get to the desktop. I don't remember the last game

Couldn't access task manager or even get to the desktop. I don't remember the last game that I literally had to cut power to my system to stop. It seems no quality assurance was done on this at all. I eagerly await for the community to help finish the remaster, because the devs sure didn't.

Stupid piece of **** crashes all the time. They remastered it graphically but didn't bother to fix any of the many bugs that still plague this game. Pass.

Three of the most overrated garbage games of all time, all in one package! I am fairly certain that those games, back when they were released, were just hyped based on paid reviews/shills and 12 year old kids who had never played an FPS before in their lives. "Spiritual successors to System Shock 2"? LOOOOOL.

All 3 of those games are 7/10 games at the year of their release. Nothing more nothing less, just functional mainstream console FPS. Getting all 3 for the price of 1, is not bad, but make no mistake, on PC there is almost no improvement for Bioshocks 1 and 2, and Bioshock Infinite is exactly the same. So if you like your meh FPSes and like cheap deals, i suppose you could buy this if you have never tried them before. The rest of you, play any other FPS on the market, it is probably better.

I will never understand hype about this game. I tried to get into it years ago, and tried now again. Story is good with nice writing, but whole gameplay starting from controls, level design and everything else just terrible.

From remastering POV, devs ALMOST nailed it. Only thing they didn't fix is sound quality. Main characters are ok, but NPCs are awful.

A huge disappointment. I can recommend The Collection only to those who never played the original games, because the quality of the remasters does not justify paying for them again (even old bugs were left intact!). [12/2016, p.57]

Any gamer that hasn't had the chance to experience BioShock should heavily consider grabbing a copy of the collection. For starters it comes with all three games, including DLC, and is easily some of the best, unique, and memorable experiences in FPS gaming in the last ten years. For those that have played the series, you will probably have a high school reunion reaction like I did. You'll see new faces (better graphics), potentially new things to talk about (behind the scenes look at the creation of BioShock and playing all DLC you may have missed), or avoiding it completely.
