This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Expand

First episode of Burial at Sea is fine, but unfortunately very short and not exactly the best piece of DLC ever made.

It´s short and kinda rushed, it´s not as good as the Burial At The Sea Episode 2, but it continues to be a great story introduction to this dlc and introduces the world of Rapture well

Instant disappointment. This is nowhere near the quality of the base game. Just about everything is worse. The combat is worse, your character is worse, there are less guns and abilities, and the story is totally random and I really don't even know what to think now. The good part is that you get to go back to Rapture and see it before it became the hell hole it was in Bioshock 1. ThereInstant disappointment. This is nowhere near the quality of the base game. I liked how they interweave the two worlds of Columbia and Rapture so that was nice. Other than that there really isn't much to say. The $15 asking price is absolutely ridiculous. If you're a fan of Infinite then you should get this, but wait for a sale. Expand

Intact Rapture...this is a great idea to set the game there, especially the beginning is wow. Everything works here: graphic, sound and the background story. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Burial at Sea begins with a great way to see Rapture before the Civil War, with an amusing free roam around a shopping district called High Street. You get to see people living their lives normally and see what the city was like when it was alive. Sadly, this was the high amount. On the plus side, the actual gameplay element of the game felt much like Bioshock, but maybe a little too much, following the slightly tiresome "here's an obstacle now find the plasmid to get past it" structure. And then we see what starts as a highly promising expansion hit its worst flaw, its really disappointing length. Barely two and a half hours long, Burial at Sea feels like nothing more than an extended demo and hardly justifying the £12 price tag (if you get it BUY THE SEASON PASS). Not to mention a few glaring omissions of classic Bioshock 1 elements, like character customization (Burial at Sea doesn't even have Infinite's Infusions system) and encounters with Big Daddies; we only meet one of those in the final boss fight. Just as Burial at Sea feels like its warming up it's over. It took me around 1hr 15mins, which is very short considering the 20USD price of entrance.

The story is generally good, and keeps you interested, in the usually ambiguous manner of the previous Bioshocks. Rapture has been redone quite nicely as you'd expect. In short, not a great value for money proposition but if that

But this DLC was done by Irrational Games with love for the original source, and secondly, without Burial at Sea, you will not get a complete idea of the entire series. Episode One can be passed in 1 hour if you do not appreciate the moment and do not explore this beautiful manually recreated world. Or you can in 4 hours with a full study. Episode One is required to pass after Infinite, even if you do not pay attention to its secondary, without it it is difficult to imagine Episode Two, which is beautiful. Expand

The DLCs haven't really renewed my interest towards BioShock infinite. Unnecessary unless you really, really liked the campaign game and looking for a prolonged experience.

    Pros
    - Super Story-Verbindung zwischen Bioshock 1/2 und 3.
    - Tonikas von allen drei Teilen verfügbar
    - Grafisch cool dargestellt

    Cons

    Excellent DLC for Bioshock Infinite.

When the Burial at Sea DLC’s came out for Bioshock Infinite, I thought it would be the same idea as Minerva’s Den for Bioshock 2. A nice little piece of extra story, played trough the eyes of an previously unknown character, to view another point of perspective. Man was I positively surprised when playing Burial at Sea Episode one and two. This is a prequel to the events of the first Bioshock game and takes place in an era that Rapture was prosperous and alive, instead of the dead, rotten city it has become.

The added story in Burial at Sea episode one and two is excellent. I played many games and watched many movies in which the creators try to add some unknown uncle or nemesis, that always was there, in their prequels, but in this game, the added story and the way that it all fits in with the first Bioshock game and Bioshock Infinite just blew my mind. It is flawless and perfect. I literally applauded when finishing the two episodes. For this reason, again, I will not spoil or mention any of it in this review.

In the end, all I can say is that these two DLC’s for Bioshock Infinite are the best DLC’s I ever played in a game and have yet to be matched in the future.

Just trash, don't waste your time on it, especially on hard difficulty, because it becomes the hobo sim, where you need to kill 5 enemies with 2 bullets, and the ending is just blunt. some say, that it's too short - naah, you will pray this game to end on the second part, because all you do is you are going the same ways and killing the same types of enemies. give me back the time, thatJust trash, don't waste your time on it, especially on hard difficulty, because it becomes the hobo sim, where you need to kill 5 enemies with 2 bullets, and the ending is just blunt. some say, that it's too short - naah, you will pray this game to end on the second part, because all you do is you are going the same ways and killing the same types of enemies. give me back the time, that I've wasted on that crap Expand

Short but generous trip into the underwater city of Rapture with all the perks we know from Infinite. This DLC benefits from an attractive setting and slower paced action. [Issue#237]

A promising start? A rather cautious one. The return to Rapture evades déjà vu feelings, but it doesn't deliver more than a spark of curiosity for its fans.
