Don’t miss out on Beyond Good & Evil. It’s a great game that deserves to be played, and while I do have issues, some of which are not inherent to the game (like requiring Ubisoft Connect), it is well worth the price.

Ubisoft dusts off its 2003 cult game for the second time with a successful Anniversary Edition. The game has never been a masterpiece, but it still entertains today as it did 21 years ago.

Even though the new content added was far from satisfying, it was quite enjoyable to play Beyond Good & Evil years later on modern systems with better graphics and without any problems. Despite all the time that has passed, it offers you hours of fun with its gameplay and story. Those who will meet Jade and Pey'j for the first time are lucky. Old fans won't find a better excuse to finish the game again.

If you're looking for the best way to experience Beyond Good & Evil today, look no further. This 20th anniversary edition is indeed the ultimate version of the Ubisoft classic, whether in terms of technique or bonuses! The adventures of Jade and her friends have even aged surprisingly well, even booking in 2024 a dense, gripping, well-paced epic where the word “adventure” takes on its full meaning (exploration, action, racing, etc.). Afterwards, over the years, there are some things that are a little dated. Newcomers will, for example, be annoyed by some puzzles/hidden passages that are not always obvious. For the rest, even the strange new face of Double-H does not detract from the beauty of Hillys and the exciting conspiracy hidden there... A cult video game, that's for sure.

The brave 2000s were a completely different period in videogame history. Franchising started to reach enormous heights and unknown players such as Beyond Good and Evil had unfortunately gone unnoticed. However, this inventive title slowly gained a cult following, and now after 20 years, its Anniversary Edition is hand-delivering a truly passionate love letter to all fans! This game was ahead of its time and once again shines thanks to updated visuals, better performance, and wholesome bonus content.

This slightly graphically improved re-release of the classic demonstrates that Beyond Good & Evil – a game where despite many crazy adventures your main weapon is your camera – can still evoke emotions, be appealing and stand out against much younger titles.

Beyond Good & Evil offers a unique experience by combining many elements such as photography mechanics, melee combat, vehicle racing, code-breaking and world exploration. It's true that the game has aged in many ways, but the positives far outweigh the negatives.
