    Really tried to love BF2042 but it was too hard, the game is just not fun. Playing BFV again, it is just such an amazingly well made game.

    Battlefield V on PC is currently in the best state it has ever been in. Even after EA DICE have dropped support for it. The audio is almost flawless, the visuals are stunning, the servers are plentiful, the optimization is on point. Sure, you may run into the odd hacker/cheater (Call them what you will), but there are enough populated servers that you can circumnavigate those instances.Battlefield V on PC is currently in the best state it has ever been in. Even after EA DICE have dropped support for it. The audio is almost flawless, the visuals are stunning, the servers are plentiful, the optimization is on point. After experiencing the early access and launch of 2042 on PC, I can confidently say I'm more than happy continuing to play BFV until 2042 is in a state that makes it playable for me. And let's not forget how well BF4 runs on PC, almost 8 years after it's release.… Expand

    It was poor at launch and the support was dropped too quickly, but after a few years this is probably the best Battlefield so far (way better than 2042, more comfortable than BF1). Amazing controls, well-balanced classes and gameplay, all weapons have their pros and cons, but mostly it just works.

    Big maps, small ones, vehicles, stationary guns – it just works.     This is an excellent game that deserves much more credit than it currently has. Most of the review are based on its beta or release state years ago. But it matured really well and it is almost a MUST in Battlefield franchise history.

    Despite not having absolutely stellar start this game matured really good. Especially when you consider it was killed for the pathetic show of BF2042. Battlefield V has everything fun game should have - variety of choices, team-play, tactics and atmosphere. I've spend 1500+ hours in it and I plan to add hundreds more to that.

    I have more hours in this Battlefield than others so I guess that itself makes it a good game in my mind's eye. The division of tactical maps from strategic maps is imo the best part of BFV that separates it from previous games. Overall pretty much everything is done well. The downside to the game is the people who play it.     The game is cool but not like battlefield 1.
    Only 1 minus for me the game is not optimized. Battlefront 2 came out in 2017 and there is a single player mode with bots on different maps, and Battlefield 5 came out in 2018 and there is no such mode. and so 8/10

    I was hooked on battlefield 1 5 years ago, so I of course had to check out battlefield 5 and watch them hopefully execute further on their war stories single player campaign.. this time around I didn’t care much for the multiplayer… I don’t know if recent advancements have just made me less patient in the multiplayer world, but here in    Battlefield 5

    this time around I didn’t care much for the multiplayer… I don’t know if recent advancements have just made me less patient in the multiplayer world, but here in batt;efield 5 it feels like spawn die spawn die.. worse than recent call of dudtys.. but the time it takes to actually get back in the game makes battlefield 5 multiplayer from firestorm, to the modes youre used to just frustrating to play through for me… so I pushed that to the side and just focused on its 5 and a half hour long campaign..
    And thankfully the campaign here is beautiful.. so much attention to detail here… and a nice varity when it comes to the levels as you go across 5 different war stories… all with different languages.. so sadly if youre like me and hate subtitles.. you don’t relaly have a choice here if you want to know whats going on… I love that battlefield 5 at least tried to deliver a unique experience in each of the 5 stories.. but not nearly as much as battlefield 1… all 5 stories stuck out here.. but mostly for its setting aside for a snow level whee you get to travers with skiis, really having me wishing for a first person ssx game… but in terms of level design overall, all 5 chapters felt pretty identical, same objective, different location.. g oacross this open map, make stuff explode, rinse repeat with some cutscenes in between… I feel like dice needs to really take note from the call of duty team with their recent emphasis on variety throughout their campaigns… at times battlefield 5 does feel like its delivering mini first person shooter games inside one world… but most of the time, it all feels too familiar, having you wanting it to just be over alredy, rather thaan feeling like wow, what an amazing 5 stories like they did last time..
    Overall im kind of over battlefield multiplayer, but as far as its singplayer goes, I really hope dice hone in on this, and delivers us more fleshed out mini stories, that don’t feel so copy and paste when it comes to objectives and delivery. I feel like this could help with the constant immersion breaking return to combat area countdown . its fine every once in a while, but constantly being told to get back in a quote unquote open world setting, just shows a lack of care when it comes to designing your experience.. it feels like a bandaid forcing you to be in the spot the game wants you to be in, rather design doing its job of keeping you there.
    I havnt given up on this series yet, and at least for its war stories, Ill have a reason to keep coming back.

    massively underrated game that got hate for political reasons. great multiplayer and graphics. even has a German campaign which is really good and a first! thank you! (although the other ones are rather mediocre.) not 10/10 because of already mentioned historical accuracy which does not matter that much (not many players play as women).

I want to focus on game mechanics and setting fail. First of all, AAA project about WW2 without any maps that reproduce any famous WW2 battles. Someone will say that we shouldn't forget about smaller battles and paySeems like everyone who puts this game more than 5 never played original battlefield games. This game is crap. I don't want to mention tons of bugs and broken net code. I want to focus on game mechanics and setting fail. Someone will say that we shouldn't forget about smaller battles and pay respect, but most likely lazy developers just wanted to finish this game faster, just look at 80% of maps. It's just an empty map with some rocks, houses and hangars. Second, wtf weapons? I have feeling that I shoot paintball gun with all this tracer rounds everywhere. Who thought that building fortifications is a great idea? In such fast paced game it's a nonsense. Build base for 3 minutes. loose it in seconds... Where is spoting system? Spotting system is what makes this game - battefield. User interface is a ux designers nightmare... Really. DICE please fire everyone who was hired after Battlefield 3. TBH I miss old Battlefield games with already spawned vehicles, spotting system and great wonderfull maps. I don't care about women in this game, or man with different color, I just want old good battlefield...… Expand

    Singleplayer short stories are fun, but in no way enough to justify the purchase.

    This game for me is one of the best battlefields ive ever played. The negative review bombing afected the future development and i dont think that we will be seeing a red army update. As for the history - read books, there are tons of them- this is a videogame ispired by historical events not a ww2 documentary - and walking around with a chick medic is totaly my cup of tea.

    This game doesn't claim to be reliable in terms of history, but it must not affect the score! It's well written, well designed, and has a nice multiplayer. Sadly that the campaign was so short though.

    I spent thousand of hours in BF3,
    BF4 was great but I didnt enjoyed as much.
    BF1 was a no-go for me and still feels like a low quality shooter. BF5 had a very rough start but damn the animation and gameplay kept me playing it. I also met people like in BF3 I felt like a deeper connection with my squad than in the previous BF games maybe the feeling that someone is risking his in-game    I spent thousand of hours in BF3,

    This game is unfinished and I hate EA for stopping support, I think this game had potential to be a good battlefield game, and it actually is fun to play. I wouldn't buy is for its original price second time, but for less than 20USD it's worth it.

    The main story worse then Battlefield 1. Gameplay is better then Battlefield 1. But you can enjoy in multiplayer if you play with roleplay.

    It got a bit of flack but it’s a solid game. Not perfect but definitely fun to play.

    It’s far from being ideal but all the glitches and shortcomings don’t ruin the overall fun of Battlefield V’s multiplayer experience. Although the single player portion of the game is not bad at all, I would have been disappointed if I bought the game just for it. [13/2018, p.56]

    In Battlefield V we got back to WW2, but with refined gunplay and death system which works great. There are also little problems such as low number of maps and stability issues, that are taking the fun away, but nothing that can't be fixed.

    A great World War II shooter that will grow and improve. Do not buy the game because of its singleplayer, but if you consider the campaign a bonus to the multiplayer, you will be satisfied. [Issue#291]
