  1. To be truthful, Titan mode is really the only significant addition to the game. This could just as easily have been an expansion pack for Battlefield 2, featuring Titan.

Ignoring the annoying so-called 'geographically appropriate' ads , Battlefield 2142 is a title bound to please fans of the series.
  3. Battlefield 2142 may be a glimpse of the future of games. I'm just not sure that I like it.
  4. Yes, it's fun, but nothing really new enough to warrant a recommendation. Die-hard Battlefield fans will see plenty of value, all others should stick with what they already have.
  5. My only issue with it, honestly, is that DICE hasn’t really made an effort to change anything substantial about the game in five years.

What's in question here isn't whether this or that technology is hooey -- it's impoverished, store-brand imagination.

Fails to offer anything fresh. The new elements added to the franchise are shamelessly plundered from other games, and generally not as well executed. [Dec 2006, p.114]

There are built-in advertisements on boards on the maps, big deal. It's all related to gaming, anyways.

So, I'll start off by saying this: Battlefield 2142 was my first battlefield game, and it'll always be my favorite, unless Battlefield 3 changes that. I've played every single Battlefield, and none of them compare to Battlefield 2142 (in my opinion, a lot of people like Battlefield 2 better, but me, I'm Battlefield 2142 all the way).

It'd be impossible for me to explain why I like this game in the relatively short, 5,000 characters that this gives me, so what I'll say is, try it. Don't just try the demo either, because I doubt anybody is playing that anymore, actually go out and buy it (what is it, like, $15 - $20 now?) - Just give it a try, play on Camp Gibraltar, or some other map around that size, try Titan mode around, and just get a feel for it, I'm sure you'll love it. And if you're feeling skeptical, just look up some YouTube videos!
