    To be honest, it's not as bad as some people make it out to be. I've played around 30 hours, mostly with friends on Portal and with Bots, but I've had a fun time overall and feel like I've gotten my money worth so to speak. I do feel like it launched early, and I've experienced the same bugs and crashes everyone else has, but the game is playable and has enough content to at least be aTo be honest, it's not as bad as some people make it out to be. I've played around 30 hours, mostly with friends on Portal and with Bots, but I've had a fun time overall and feel like I've gotten my money worth so to speak. I do feel like it launched early, and I've experienced the same bugs and crashes everyone else has, but the game is playable and has enough content to at least be a 4-6/10. Again, I know it's not perfect. Here's hoping they support the game instead of dropping it from the initial release stink.

    Update November 2022: The game is in a much better place now. I've easily put over 100 hours into the game since launch and believe 2042 is closer to what it should have been at launch. They've added tons of new items in game, new maps, season passes, new operatives, weapons, equipment, and rebalanced the classes for a more authentic Battlefield feeling. I'd highly recommend giving the game another go.

    It was really bad at the start due to lots of bugs and all but eventually the game was stable and I ended up enjoying the game very much I don't think a lot of people were patient enough to wait for the game to be fixed but now it's really good

    I created this account just to give 2042 a zero. Dice is the laughing stock of the industry and 2042 was born from their obese employees playing too much warzone. I bought this game day 1 and 2 years later I am still waiting for my refund, the game is fundamentally BROKEN with zero redeeming qualities. Please do not ever buy another EA or DICE product again.

    Yes, compared to ALL other Battlefields, 2042 is the worst Battlefield in history!
    Even in 2023 it feels like a beta.
    I will never buy a Battlefield game again in my life unless they manage to release a decent Battlefield twice in a row.

    I really recomend this game if you are FPS beast - you gonna have a lot of fun
    If you are just a regular broski that isnt extremely good in FPS genre than ull find it boring and hard

    Oh boy, another great game from EA and Dice! I love that they've finally scrapped the class system that was basically the DNA of the franchise. Don't listen to haters; the new specialists system is so much better. I especially like the non-binary black woman specialist that's so OP it's not even funny. I also love all the other female characters. It all really makes the battlefieldOh boy, another great game from EA and Dice!     Really good Battlefield. The best one since BF4 for sure. I really liked that they have finally tried to ditch that obsolete class system and introduced operators with skills. But unfortunatelly due to internet hysteria we have classes again. What a shame. Now all those solo players can't really excel. And because there's no team play it's so tidious once again. But the core mechanics, graphics and sound are top notch. I really like that this game runs on mid-rane PCs and still looks amazing. I'm fortunate and can play in 4K on ultra. Oh man, what a treat. It looks so much better, than previous BF titles. Another great thing is Portal mode, where you can set virtual servers (kinda like those paid ones before, but for free). You can choose maps (also many classical ones - fully redone), different modes and basically all variables. It's really great to play true hardcore mode once again. And EAC anti-cheat is working!… Expand

    The worst FPS game I ever played. Gunplay is terrible, maps are terrible, sound is garbage, hitreg is terrible, weapons customization is terrible, classes are terrible. All f*****g game is TERRIBLE.
    Edit : In July 2023 gunplay is better and some technical problems are solved but game still is not very good and it is lacking off content.

    After a year and a half of updates, I can say that the game, while somewhat lacking in content, is playable and has its moments. However, being playable is not worth $60, especially since predecessors in the series play better.

Sprinting around all the time like madmen and seamingly (or what logically would be) suicide parachute drops into enemies gives better results than doing something reasonable on battlefield. Also sprinting around in between enemies gives better results than tactical behaviors. It ruins the battlefield fantasy and kills the joy.Its garbage or i am to old for this kind of arcadish nonsense.     Also there is no cooperation rewarded, hence you feel like playing some sort of free for all shooter, but can only hit reds. I coudlnt even get freaking ammuniation from anyone on the team. Everyone is just grinding their grind goal, cause the game otherwise is unpleasant as hell.    … Expand

There isnt a single aspect of this game that is fun except for if you like being a **** **** camping in one corner or sitting on a hill sniping one player every two minutes or so. Its a huge piece of incompetence and the playerbase makes me lose every bit of hope i had in humankind

    Techically good optimization, but if you wait 6 mins to load (18 core CPU + 128GB ram)

    Need level to play with all weapons. Imagine Dota 2 you need to play for a week to unlock skills

    Actually really loving this game. Played it because it came to gamepass and was pleasantly surprised. Good shooting mechanics, interesting character abilities.
    Wish they kept some of the old BF charm but it's not too bad. Hopefully they will learn from their mistakes by the next entry. But even with all its flaws, I still play this every day. It's just fun!

Characters run much too fast. It's like they increased speed 4x which makes players ridiculously fast. Add to that laggy connections and delays on everything to shooting to getting instakilled while running behind cover.This is a great example on an dead game. Nobody plays this on PC anymore. Why? I hardly could play this game on my i5 9400f, gtx 1660 super, 16gb ram even on lowest setting because the game isn't stable at all. The highest fps i got is 80 and lowest is 40 with 100% cpu usage and only 70%This must be the worst battlefield game of the franchise.     The traditional legendary battlefield is back due to the last updates! They fixed all the bugs, maps have reworked and they added plenty new and old wepons from previous battlefield games. Multiplayer experience is amazing and I can't wait for their next updates and seasons!

    O jogo tem um lindo gráfico e ambientação, mas é muito fora de questão tratando de Battlefield, eu só digo para a Dice e a EA games, para não esquecer das suas obras primas o Battlefield 1 e o Battlefield 4, para ficar enchendo linguiça com o 2042, não adianta nada resolver isso, o jogo é quebrado e oque adianta é ficar nas suas obras primas!.     The decisions going into Battlefield 2042 are completely baffling. The game released in the most broken state imaginable, and now as of 2023 has only just reached the state it should have been in on release, at least. No hope for this game and barely any hope for the next Battlefield that they are supposedly cobbling together at EA.

It certainly could be great, but in its current state, I would never pay $60 dollars for it.I wouldn't even pay $30-$40 for it. You are better off spending your money on Halo Infinite than this game.     I played this again in 2023 and after several much needed polishes the game is close to being what it should have been. Weapon balancing appears to have been more fine tuned and bugs are much less common. However, the poor cross play experience and addition of several uninteresting game modes, as well as the launch experience, still leave a sour taste in my mouth. Hopefully EA learns from this mistake with the recent comment on Battlefield's future, but with EA you never know.    … Expand

    Alors je reviens de mon test (50aine d'heures) je tiens a préciser que je n'ai jamais testé le jeu a c'est début et c'est donc mes premières heures sur le jeu.

    Résultat : Le jeu très bof, si ce n'est mauvais, assurément le pire battlefield. Certaines cartes dans certains mode doivent avoir des taux de WR atk/def hilarant (90/10% en me choquerait pas) car on court littéralement sur des defenseurs qui ont la hauteur, la cover, et des tickets en illimités, contre des attaquants ayant ni cover ni tickets, je ne sais meme pas comment c'est possible que quelqu'un ai validé cette merde. J'ai fini par le desinstallé et je vais retourner sur des battlefield fini, sur lesquels je prendrais assurément plus de plaisir. 0 espoir en cette infame bouse    … Expand

    Pretty good game. A LOT better than BFV. A lot of bugs needs to be ironed out but I love it !
    Update : Really great since the major updates. It now feels a lot more like a battlefield game.

    This chapter of Battlefield is close to BF3, as for me. There are some interesting levels. Unfortunately, BF2042 has strange moments with balance in some cases (only 1 air fighter for 64 players) and too many prospect spaces. Not the best, but definitely not a bad game.

    Another devteam ruined by EA. A group of talented developers who made BF1 and BF4 making this disaster is baffling. BF2042 has gotten better over time thanks to the numerous patches and I have to admit that the gameplay is pretty fun now but it's still no where near BF1 and BF4 and it is absolutely not worth the price.

That's been my experience with the game since 2002, which is to say itIt's a Battlefield game, so if you've been playing them since the inception, you already know the routine: (1) spawn (and if you spawn on a squad member, instadeath); (2) wander around aimlessly and get shot in the back; or (3) see an enemy, and they instantly one-shot you from one hundred meters away with a handgun. That's been my experience with the game since 2002, which is to say it sucks. It's a bad game. It has always been a bad game. I'm now realizing that this game has ALWAYS. BEEN. A. BAD. GAME. But this particular iteration does everything that it possibly can to make sure that YOU - if its suckiness isn't already obvious to you - will absolutely be cognizant of it within just a few minutes of play. How so? Immersion breaking. Every time there's a between match cut-scene, I notice that almost all the character models are women. Now, this would be fine if it were even close to a reflection of reality. But it's not. And to end insult to injury, there's literally a war going on in Europe as I type this where the soldiers that are dying are basically all men. So the people that made this game for some absolutely insane reason made the soldiers nearly all female for reasons that are known only to them. I'm not even close to being a soldier myself, so this doesn't in any way offend me on a personal level. It's just dumb, it's unnecessary, it's weird, it's nonsensical, and it reminds me that I'm playing an already frustrating game made by idiots. They don’t have refill ammunition system so good luck with destroying vehicles that can tank 3 recoiless. I've seen a lot of negative reviews about Battlefield 2042 and decided to wait until a few months after its release to buy it and play it. I was able to buy the game through EPIC games at a discounted price of $19.99. Game is fairly large in size as was to be expected. The UIHonest review here.     i tried it 1 year later, and the game runs smoothly on 64 player conquest matches, i hadn´t any trouble for that, but it lacks a lot content from previous series, it feels less tactical, and it is more oriented to action. Specialists change drastically the roles in game, sometimes they could add some good ideas, but some other times they can broke the game, it sometimes is less oriented toi tried it 1 year later, and the game runs smoothly on 64 player conquest matches, i hadn´t any trouble for that, but it lacks a lot content from previous series, it feels less tactical, and it is more oriented to action.     I’m just now playing battlefield 2042. I’m playing Escalation and it’s incredible. On a personal note: My New LG C2 television with the RTX NVIDIA makes my former console look puny. Gameplay: I’m an old MAG gamer from ps3 and I must say these all out big wars are great. So glad to see this direction taken. AND YOU GOT THERE CRITERION signed as a part of a team, they done racing games, were they high or drunk?

    4. Weapons... WTH??? they shoot with almost no spread like some lazy dumb airsoft guns with a terrible sounds too. So few of them, so few options to customize. But at least we can have stupid flashy skins, right? Shove them up yours...

    5. Movement. Soldiers run around like on cocaine fast and chaotic spraying all over everywhere with their airsoft guns. It feels like they are rollerskating. BFV done movement excellent, why you butchered it ????

    6. Wall/cover leaning. Why its not present? Is this counterstrike 1.6 ??? It was there before in BF and now its gone. Stupid decision. And what I hate about this game most is players running through each other !!! Bumping in other players in a game was part of adrenaline when you are trying to run for cover in front of a grenade. Now its not feeling like you are a part of it. Adrenaline atmosphere is GONE !!!

    7. Cringe specialists at least are shutted up after a match. BUT THEY DESTROYED TEAMPLAY !!!! No one bothers to revive, really few others do. And ammo, oh god, NO ONE EVER drops ammo crates. On the other hand snipers on the end of the map are there camping with their ammo crates, because snipers with infinity ammo camping is a great idea. I played BF1 after uninstalling 2042 and it felt like its tactical heaven, everyone was working together.

    8. Sounds. Better than at a beginning. But that Music is something. Why it even exist? Farting in a toilet when I have diarrhea is more pleasing to my ears. Whoever done that **** should be fired.

    9. Graphics. Thats the only thing I can give credit for. Its nice. But somehow, its really demanding on your hardware. Still BF1 is much more better to look at and performs great.

    10. Maps. They got better. But they look dull. That desert map looks unfinished and oh boy, do not let me start about destruction in this game. Shooting into a scyscrapper with a tank leaves nothing. Not even a scratch. That is just lazy. And spawning is still broken. There is a good a chance that in 1 of 3 spawns you will face enemy who will empty his magazine into your face because you are doing magazine check animation. You know like in reality when someone shoots at you in open space. In a TDM I have been 4 time in a row thrown into this situation. Just lovely.

    This game is the worst what this franchise could encounter. Trailer looked like fun, then reality punched majority of fans into a face. Thats your loveletter to battlefield fans. Many of us went back to older titles and your servers in 2042 are mostly empty filled with AI. In a last two decades its now for the first time I will not buy a BF game. Its not worth even 5€. Price you ask is ridiculous. Experienced 40+ hours with gamepass and this day I uninstalled it for good. Everyone who is responsible for this game should punch himself in his face with a rock. Sure, might be my laptop, but reading reviews from other about performance issues makes me think this is a bug from EA's side.

    Overall, DICE, EA, you did it. You've hit the rock bottom yet again. I am even proud of you for hitting rock bottom this many times. Killing so much good franchises, just because you value money than experience. Which your advertising happens to be exactly the opposite.    … Expand

    Кілька карт мають такий недолік як довга дорога до місцяі заруби але я це не часто зустрічав та й транспорт для мене цей недолік нівелював.

Як на мене оперативники додали ще більше можливостей до цієї пісочниці. Наприклад там є оперативник який може короткочасно визначати противників через навіть через стіни. Я вирішив додати собі в комплект димову гранату, закидати її в приміщення з противниками і відразу отримувати кілька фрагів. Якщо більше пограти то думаю можна ще знайти багато комбінацій і можливостей для вбивств.
    Зброї тут здається менше ніж в попередніх частинах, це для декого буде мінусом. Але мій респект за систему модифікації прямо на полі бою, це прямо дуже крута штука і я надіюсь що вона на довго залишиться в серії.
    Режими мені фактично всі зайшли крім hazard zone. Режим портал б'є по ностальгіїі (і це круто). Побігати на картах з третьої частини було приємно. Хоч я й люблю сінгл але тут його відсутність це напевно скоріше плюс, відразу потрапляєш в зарубу без прелюдій.
    Баги все ще є але по суті це той сaмий battlefield в якому весело ганяти по полю і дивитись та самому брати участь у всьому тому незаскриптованому екшні який створюють самі гравці. Можна брати на знижках.

    After several updates, this game is good now. You should give it a try! Graphics are nice, new weapons and characters give more options to player. After playing mw2 for weeks and getting back to battlefield, I can say that I enjoy bf 2042 than mw2.

    I even really like this game. Despite all these bugs, she is beautiful. I hope for DICE company that they will make the game even better. I'm giving them a chance.

    I downloaded it on EAplay and my controller bindings don't even do what they should be doing. Game looks completely broken for controllers on pc? not really sure what's going on but if i cant even navigate your **** menu its a 0 from me dawgs. when i did load in the game looked like complete crap.

    Only giving it a 2 because I'm still trying to like it, but it's so bad.... like I literally re-download bf4 so I could play a good battlefield game again. Changing the 2 to a 1 mid review because I'm just so severely disappointed with everything from game play to maps and graphics. They took everything away.

    Couple months later update, game still sucks.

    The gameplay is good i guess but its still not great, the only thing i like about it is that it uses modern gun but it doesnt have any better game play versus all the other battlefields or even just call of duty.

I have no **** idea what this game actually does in the background but I don't believe that this piece of **** I saw during gameplay should make my GPU and CPU working on 100% almost whole time.     Don't go into 128 player mode and the game is great. I hope the game gets better, I even liked everything except 128 players. Specialists great idea and diversity, breathes new life into the battlefield. PLEASE DON'T QUIT 2042 FINISH IT, YOU HAVE A FUTURE.

    An absolute travesty of a game. Graphics look good, but this game plays like a half baked Chinese mobile knock off. This should be the death of the battlefield series, if you can even call it a battlefield game.

    9-10 months after release: 1 new map, 2 new weapons but one is a bow, horrible netcode, no reporting, no servers, throws you into a map 3min before your side loses, no squad play or points for teamwork, minimal destruction, garbage vehicle/infantry balancing, an endless list of issues. I'll give a 2 as a fair score.     definitely one of the games of all time, it had storyline, the voice actors acted, the plot was executed, i rate this 100morbillion/10000morbillion
    spoiler alert but one of my favorite parts of the game is when mr battlefield says "it's battlefielding time" and battlefields all over the enemies.

    the game had numerous bugs and defects that need fixing. I still believed someday it would change for the better, loved the gameplay of vehicles and in general, for like 4 months I really enjoyed the game even when there was only 1000 or less players online. don't get me wrong I didn't think from the beginning it was worth 60 bucks but I was willing to play it anyway(because I couldn't refund). now here comes the part that I really hate, when this "season one" came I was exited because I knew it would bring lots of players back but the changes to the game were absolutely trash. and here are some for example; the bolte, a vehicle that can be unlocked at some point in the game was one of my personal favorite light vehicle. Dice changed its category for the same as the tank heavy vehicles. now, why tf would I use the bolte if i can just use the tank, its way better obviously, it has more health, more destructive power and more gadgets, and as I expected after the update I didn't see one bolte in the battlefield.
    The second reason, Dice reduced the amount of vehicles in each match and that makes the game pointless and really boring. its supposed to be an all out war action game, with tons of destruction, tanks shooting and jest flying by and bombing the area. now its call of duty game in a big boring map with some lame ass cars with little guns and each team of 64! can choose only one aircraft 2 tanks maybe an helicopter (same category that makes it less useable, and each map the amount of vehicles is a little different but still a really small amount).
    and as a result for like 4 games straight I didn't get to be neither in a tank or a helicopter, sometimes there are carriers that the pilot doesn't even shoot from only the passengers can, and some lame LVs .
    The third reason, why the hell did you guys bring down the most fun mode in this game.. the 64v64 breakthrough mode it was what the game was supposed to be. that was the reason I paid for this game!!! now its some boring 32v32 in a small map with one jeep for each team and maybe one tank. and the season map is boring as hell earthier. this game started ok but was trash because of bugs, it started to get better until you **** it up again and now with more bugs and unstable changes to the gameplay. Dice please, you have the resources already, make this game good, just listen to the ones that are actually playing it. add triple the vehicles in each match do more destructive buildings(idc if it means less players)
    From now on I will wait a few weeks to buy a big game incase I don't buy some scum of a game that I can not return.    … Expand

    What a terrible game. Do not buy this game at full price because it's definitely not worth it. Poor performance and terrible maps. The game just isn't good. Not to mention, after one year, season one finally comes out with a lackluster battle pass and an additional two weapons. After one year, we get two weapons. Really?

    Same old crap with DICE. They make a game with a lot of potential, and it turns into a disaster. The game already feels broken and unfinished, yet DICE and EA have decided to sell it to earn a little cash. This games are the reason FPS are boring,****, and all the same thing over and over again. It feels like Call of Duty and Battlefield are fighting over who makes the worst game. ThisSame old crap with DICE. They make a game with a lot of potential, and it turns into a disaster. The game already feels broken and unfinished, yet DICE and EA have decided to sell it to earn a little cash. This games are the reason FPS are boring,****, and all the same thing over and over again. It feels like Call of Duty and Battlefield are fighting over who makes the worst game. This game gets a 4 instead of a zero because Portal mode it's one of the best things Battlefield has ever done.     Well, you cant even Choose your Squad, you can just randomly switch between squads that have a slot free.
    Objects like Trees have a bigger Hitbox than the visible object - > You shoot into invisible walls The Hovercraft is completely broken, it even can climb any skyscraper. Reviving Bug, Bugs of any kind, like u cant switch weapons anymore.    laggy servers, unpolished, and unfinished.

    All in all, Battlefield 2042 has been a real labour of love for me. The initial launch was remarkably underbaked, but I can’t deny the enjoyment that comes from firing a rocket launcher into a tornado. This may not be the best FPS multiplayer game available, and there are still plenty of issues that need ironing out, but there are occasionally some thrilling moments that you won’t be able to experience in the likes of Call of Duty or Fortinte. It remains frustrating having to pay full price for a multiplayer game, but if you’re already a fan of the franchise and don’t mind missing out on the campaign, you’ll likely enjoy yourself here. The nostalgic aspect of Portal mode will also draw fans in, and of course, the 4K graphics make it very pretty game, even if it has its cracks.

    The weakest first-person shooter in the history of DICE. Even, by some miracle, the studio manages to fix the most glaring mistakes and reanimate the abysmal netcode, this game will not become Battlefield at its core.
