City of Lights has some of the best storytelling that Telltale has ever accomplished; it’s no wonder story is what they’re most known for.

A fantastic conclusion to this great series. The episode is a perfect amalgamation of everything that has worked so well in the series so far. It is also a massive improvement over its predecessors in a number of ways, and it takes the story began four episodes ago and ends it in a very satisfactory way. This is all on top of fixing most of the technical problems that have plagued the series over these last few episodes, delivering a finale that cements this as one of Telltale's best series to date.

A wonderfully different dive into the Caped Crusader’s past culminates in a worthy chapter that further defines his future, and small problems aside, I could not be happier with the way it all went down.

Aside from those few stumbles, City of Light overall succeeds as an action-packed finale to Batman: The Telltale Series and Telltale’s vision of the Batman universe.

City of Light closes the gaps of the season’s main arc, although it seems to do so hastily, without letting an unraveling to sink in before us making a conscious choice. Still Ep. 5 is an improvement from Ep. 4, yet it is relatively weak and representative of the whole season of Telltale’s Batman.

So should you get it… well the short answer is yes! If you like Batman or even just good story telling then this is a great game to add to your collection… but I echo my previous statements… don’t get the chapters… just go straight for the season pass… trust me you will be frustrated if you only buy one chapter. When you get to the end of that story segment you will be left wanting more.

While it didn’t quite deliver the emphatic finale that Batman and Bruce deserved in terms of pulse-racing content, it did resolve the overarching issues plaguing Gotham and set things up for the seemingly inevitable sequel. And it’s thanks to Telltale’s dedicated efforts in creating a believable, unique, and unpredictable story, that I’m eager for its arrival.

City of Light is a good season-finale, which concludes all narrative lines of the previous episodes and introduces a new way to look at Bruce Wayne as a character.

While I didn't have any trouble seeing this season through per se -- as the amazing action choreography helped -- City of Light did run out of gas once most of the major players bowed out. But truth be told, Telltale has created a strong universe to keep expanding on, and as long as it can keep supplanting well-known characters in the future, I can see an excuse to keep making this series more than any of its other projects to date.

An enjoyable experience with a disappointing final act. There's still plenty of potential left, if Season 2 ever comes along.

This episode is an ok ending for the season, but it's time for Telltale to reconsider their formula. Even though it's not broken yet, it doesn't work anymore as it used to.

All the plot points needed are resolved, however can feel rushed, with characters not really getting the development they deserve. At an hour and a half to play this could leave you wanting more, but will probably just leave you wondering what could have been.

Telltale wraps up its Batman story in mediocre fashion, but the series as a whole is still worth your time if you consider yourself a Dark Knight fan.

With Batman, Telltale took a huge gamble by reimagining established heroes and villains, and skewing the comic’s plot in a different direction. It could have been a tremendous success but, lacking the foundations of a story worthy of its characters, the end result is storied and often incohesive, even within individual chapters. Gotham deserved better.

First of all, it barely makes any sense why Vicki was the main villain, but it doesn't really effect the gameplay. What does is that if you watch the first 2 episodes, they give you so much mystery and excitement for the next episode. They could have made this episode a lot stronger, as this episode felt like a clean-up for the other episodes. Overall, the game has framerate issues and the choices do matter a bit, but it feels like a Season 2 wouldn't fit in. Full Review »
