    This game was impressive. I loved the story, the characters, the relationships and choices, and the music. It may have been shorter but it was surely a worthwhile experience. I can't think of a single valid reason to dislike it. Some might point out that it's relatively short, but it costs so much less as well. Quite lazy compared to previous telltale games (the wolf among us or the walking dead). The problem with these new graphic adventures with such poor gameplay is that if you don't have a perfect story, the player ends up bored, and this one definitely doesn't. I do not recommend it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After Arkham's amazing Joker voiced by Mark Hamill I thought no other video game could top that one, but damn if Telltale didn't do an outstanding job with this one. What a wonderful take on this character, so different and unique from any other version I've ever seen and offering a completely new perspective.

    This game is a thrilling ride from start to finish. Amazing voice acting, great story pacing, tension, build up, lovable characters, character development, very satisfying action... everything is masterfully done! I love the new twist on the Batman world, presenting everything we know in a different light, but staying hardcore true to the Batman spirit.

    The slow descent of John Doe into madness and his inevitable transformation from your best bud to the Joker while you're helpless to stop it was the best thing about this game. By the end of the season Telltale literally had me in love with him.

    Take my 10!

    This is a good Batman, really loved the action packed season.
    The only downside was the length of episode 4.

    Batman: The Enemy Within may not be as good as the first season, but it was a pretty fun experience packaged with exciting action and an engaging story -- only if some parts were presented a bit more clearer and the ending didn't wrap up as lazily as it did.

    I'm really enjoying this game (in Episode 3 at the moment). The story is great, and there is a real sense that your decisions affect what is going on. The choice of moves throughout the fights is a great addition.

    I liked it a lot until now. The story feels good, if you want a continued story to the first season. The feature, where relationships alter, when you make a decision is also a step forward. Of course the story is still pretty much happening, no matter what you chose, but its a damn good story till now (Episode 2)

    This is a direct sequel to season 1 and the choices you make there will carry over here, so obviously for the best experience you should play that one first… it’s a much better game anyway…
    A lot of things were carried over from season 1, but a lot of the good was just thrown aside…
    I felt that season 1 had a nice balance of batman and Bruce Wayne... here in the enemy within the story is very Bruce Wayne heavy..
    So there are no moments of planning and executing like in season one which was probably my favorite part... there is only 1 moment of linking items to events, and there is little to no detective work…
    this season is very lazy feeling compared to the first though it does run miles better, for the first time in telltale history I ran into 0 hiccups..
    This time it’s a bunch of quick time events with great fighting scenes and dialog choices... this is clearly the final season telltale will be doing with batman so they attempt to go out with a bang and throw as many villains in here as possible..
    This is very suicide squad feeling…
    and you as Bruce Wayne goes undercover and joins them... this leads to tons of dilemma as the story plays out while you try to protect your code and come off as a bad guy at the same time...
    I felt the internal struggle… so the story telling here is actually pretty great... full of twists and turns and dilemmas…
    Though I feel like episode 1 and 5 were the only really great moments for the story.. The middle 3 with the whole suicide squad thing going on is just a little too shallow for me... there are interesting characters that you don’t get to spend enough time with.. they just feel a bit wasted… thinking back it’s hard to even remember what happened in those episodes…
    Batman The enemy Within is a really solid and good telltale game..
    It makes you stop and think… its constantly surprising you… all its missing is emotion and connection to its characters…
    I found myself only really connected to the characters from the first season and that’s only because of how great that season did with character development... it carried over to this one..
    If you hop in here by the end you’ll feel a connection to no one…
    Your enjoyment of this season really does rely on you having played through season 1…
    I give Batman: The Enemy Within
    a 7/10

    In Enemy Within whats most that stands out is the interplay between you as Bruce Wayne/Batman and John Doe/Joker, great and clever writing from Telltale ready made this a unique Joker origin story and offered many morally challenging yet satisfying choices on how you want to forge your relationships with John. It was also fun interacting with supporting cast, guessing with whom you should align, support and work together and what kind of secret agendas they might have. It was really interesting to shape the choices based on those factors. One perhaps annoying bit was that there were few, yet annoying plot holes, for me mainly concerning Catwoman, i dont usualy cry about plot holes but here since Catwoman's my favorite side character, it did do my head in a bit.

    And speaking of choices, just like in Guardians of the Galaxy, it feels Telltale have again made them feel even more impactful, even if it would be an illusion, its bloody well done and you can feel them as the story tends to branch out in several different ways.

    Overall its another great effort from Telltale, hoping for season 3 in near future.

    The gameplay, as in the previous season, the moments when we control Bruce Wayne are remarkable.
    The moments in which we control Batman, although they are still executed in a simplified way (QTEs), have been improved a bit thanks to the addition of "timely decisions", making a bit more friendly one of the sections that most pale of the set by far.
    While there are still anecdotal decisions, I have noticed changes based on my decisions. Bravo for that.

IBatman: The Enemy Within fixed a few things I didn’t like about Batman: A Telltale Series but it also introduced a few other issues. Overall I actually enjoyed the story even more than the original which is saying something as I loved the first one. I thought once again that Tell Tale did a great job of making the characters their own and not always sticking to canon but doing it well. I thought they handled having so many of the villains in the same story pretty well. It could have easily gotten muddled or not given enough time to one or the other but it felt balanced. I give them a lot of credit for being willing to kill off established characters, it added a sense of unpredictability I enjoyed. I really enjoyed what they did with Joker’s character although I would have liked more involvement from Catwoman near the end. One new mechanic introduced was sometimes you have to hold down the left mouse button and move it in a direction such as up to perform a task. I disliked this because I felt it often wouldn’t properly track the movement and made me redo it many times. Mechanics that got scrapped were planning out complex fights by linking objects as well as detective work at crime scenes both of which I felt could have and should have been kept. Puzzles were overall good with the exception of a safe puzzle early on. Another issue I had with the original that got fixed was injury detail. This time injuries you receive were properly on Batman’s body from scene to scene. Sadly one new issue was the import save feature. The game wouldn’t pick up my choices from my cloud save of the original so I had to manually pick what my previous choices were. This could have easily been a non issue had Tell Tale allowed me to point to a save game file on my computer. I also took issue with the wording on two choices. I ended up having to redo the entire chapters because the wording of the choices was very different to what I thought they meant and I was not allowed to just go back to a couple checkpoints previous.

    I played Batman: The Enemy Within on Linux using Wine. It never crashed on me and I didn’t notice any glitches or bugs. The terrible performance of the original was better in this game but still had the odd drops in frame rate now and again. System resource usage was noticeably lower than the original. Alt-Tab still didn’t work. There were still 3 AO settings; a DOF toggle; an AA toggle; and 2 other graphics options. The game still uses an auto save system. One major issue I had with it was that if you wanted to go back to make a different choice you had to restart the entire episode. It would have been nice if you could have loaded a previous auto save but there was only one save slot so it was always overwritten.

    Graphics Engine: Telltale Tool version 27
    Game Version Played: 1.0.0.1
    Save System: Auto (1 save slot)
    Input Used: Keyboard and Mouse
    Disk Space Used: 24.8 GB

    Settings Used: All High; DOF Off; AA On; 1080P
    GPU Usage: 0-100 %
    VRAM Usage: 1723-3165 MB
    CPU Usage: 6-25 %
    RAM Usage: 2.3-2.8 GB
    Frame Rate: 20-144 FPS

    Overall while I enjoyed the story and character development even more than the original, Enemy Within managed to introduce mechanics I didn’t like; scrap ones I did; botch the import of my previous save game; and irritate me with their save system. It did run better though and as still highly enjoyable. If you enjoyed previous Tell Tale games you should enjoy this as well.

    8/10 - Great.
    [Went into this game expecting it to be a TellTale Game like the ones i have played before.
    It continue the story from the first batman telltale game witch i also have made a playthrough on.
    It plays pretty much the same as the first batman telltale game, But the story feels more engaging in this sequel.]

    {GamePlay: World/Level Design, Quests/Missions/Objectives, Difficulity (Deffault/Normal), Co-Op/Multiplayer Aspects}
    8/10 - Great.
    [The world design is like in the first game fantastic, it got a cartoon feel to it that will be more explained in the Visuals section of the review. The objectives in this game are mostly straightforward, some got a pizzle aspect, but most of the objectives you will have are straightforward. The Difficulty, in this case, normal difficulty, is alright, but not that challenging, it's more about the story tho in TellTale games. It doesn't have a Co-Op, but there is the “crowd play” that might be perfect for Livestream, as it enables the viewers to participate in the Let's Play, PlayThrough, or WalkThrough. But this is not something that I currently use as I record no-commentary PlayThrough Videos.]

    {Narrative: Dialogue, Cutscenes}
    9/10 - Great.
    [The Narrative works very well, it fits both the game and the story it's trying to tell.
    As a TellTale game, you know its a lot of dialogues in this game. Not that many cutscenes as most of the dialogue are the choices of dialogue that pop up most of the time during the gameplay.

    {Visuals: Graphics, Motion Capture/Voice-Sync}
    10/10 - Fantastic.
    [The Graphics of this game feels cartoonish and fits the game well for some reason.
    I don't think there is any Motion Capture being used, but the voice-sync is fantastic.]

    {Technical: Bugs, Performance}
    8/10 - Great.
    [I Didn't encounter any bugs during my PlayThrough of the game.
    I did however encounter quite a few times the game freezing for less than a second multiple times during my PlayThrough. Other than that, I noticed no performance issues.]

    {Story: The Story}
    8/10 - Great.
    [the story was great. Not sure how different most of the story could have been from my playthrough of the game, but I did go for the vigilante joker at the end. But you can have the story go different ways during the whole PlayThrough.]

    {Replayability: Replayability (Alternate Endings, Secrets, Multiplayer, etc)}
    10/10 - Good.
    [The Replayability is good in this game, the game might be different each time you play it, but the most difference will be in the final episode.]

    "8/10 – Great.
    These games leave me with something to remember them by, ideas for single-player or multiplayer, clever characters and writing,
    noteworthy graphics and sound, or some combination thereof.
    I recommend getting this game."

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. 'Batman: The Enemy Within', or another successful TellTale game offering an innovative look on Batman, his allies and his famous foes, allowing you (as always in a TellTale game) to shape your own version of the story by making your own decisions during tough moments.

    It starts the best way as the game allows you to continue the story based on your choices from the first opus ('Batman - The Telltale Series'). The context is set during the first episode and things become to be truly amusing when episode 2 starts with some QTEs and action! In overall I found fights scenes were terrific, with great choregraphies, interesting camera angles and fantastic moves. The fact that you can make decisions during fights is really cool as you can predict which effects it is going to cause at that precise moment. Bonus for those latex sounds when Harley Quinn or Catwoman move. The story is complex and allows you to interact with many (I would say something like 15 significative) characters. And obviously you can't be friend with all of them. Some characters (especially the Joker) are honestly funny. The face design is okay for the main characters and you can easily understand their emotions with their facial expressions and animations. The end, the very last dialogue with Alfred and the last choice you have to make are terrific.

    Unfortunately all this list comes with a considerable 'BUT'... First of all, it is kind of irritating when you already know Batman's famous opponents (while protagonists don't): you have to watch the characters wondering how could have done this or this massacre. Bois it is obvious as hell. In my game almost each and every character turned against me before the end of the first episode: why? I am not even playing like a bastard here! It must be because Bruce/Batman doesn't always answer the exact dialogue you choose. It is often unclear to predict which actions is going to cause which consequences in the future. And I hope you love dialogues because this Telltale game has plenty of it. It is fun often but it sometimes becomes too much for not much. As I wrote, there are numerous characters to interact with, but some like Harley are just so disappointing compared to what you know from them.

    Consideration of wounds is really particular: trust me, Batman is wayyy too often injured during this story. However, so do your opponents, except they don't seem to have a problem with it! But come on, in the very beginning the Riddler (who is 60 years old) still manages to escape a fist fight against Batman after taking several major hits! What the hell? QTEs are quite fun but you can literally hit another button and you won't fail. And even if you succeed in QTEs you won't always win the fight. Way too easy. The worst is that this game doesn't take AZERTY keyboards in account. Impossible to change controls. In one word, the curb is classic: QTE fights at the very beginning, then two or three flat and full of dialogues episodes and QTE fights again at the very end. Nothing new.

    Some textures are quite ugly. Weirdly it takes years to launch the game: the connection with the server is always laggy despite my personal supersonic internet distribution. The 'Shadows Mode' DLC is definitely one of the most overestimated and shallow DLCs I've ever played. Don't buy it even on sale!

    I had a hard time choosing wether I would recommend this game or not but eventually I won't even if it reamins a decent Telltale game, far behind 'The Walking Dead' ones.

    "Batman: The Enemy Within - The Telltale Series" is an amazing sequel that left me more than satisfied with its choices, consequences, and overall story. This installment has solidified itself as one of my favorite games from TellTale, thanks to the captivating narrative and my newfound love for Joker.

    The game's visual and gameplay advancements are truly incredible. The graphics have vastly improved, and the fights have become even more exhilarating. However, what truly blew me away was the fifth episode, which took a bold approach by offering two completely different sides based on the choices players had made throughout the game. This level of branching storytelling surprised me in the best way possible, leaving me eager to experience more of it in future TellTale titles.

    Despite my overall admiration for the game, I must admit that some character arcs felt a bit incomplete in the end. Unlike the first "season," where each character's story wrapped up awesomely in the last episode, "The Enemy Within" seemed to leave a few arcs unresolved. However, I acknowledge that these perceived inconsistencies might stem from the choices I made and my unique perspective on the story. Alternatively, these seemingly unfinished arcs could serve as a clever way to generate excitement for a potential upcoming season or DLC. The uncertainty only adds to the game's allure, keeping players intrigued and eager for more.

    In conclusion, "Batman: The Enemy Within - The Telltale Series" is an outstanding sequel that brilliantly embraces the essence of choices and consequences. The engaging storyline, coupled with the exceptional portrayal of Joker, made this game an unforgettable experience for me. The advancements in graphics and gameplay further enhanced my enjoyment, and the divergent paths in the fifth episode left me yearning for similar innovations in future TellTale projects. Although a few character arcs felt somewhat incomplete, the possibilities and unknowns that lingered only served to heighten my excitement for what lies ahead in this captivating universe. This sequel solidifies TellTale's prowess in interactive storytelling, and I can't wait to embark on more thrilling adventures in the Batman series.

    Absolut geil, was für eine Story hier erzählt wird.
    Spielt zuerst den Vorgänger, dann werden eure Entscheidungen übernommen.
    Ich dachte mir im 1. Teil schon f*** it, ich kenne die Filme, die Serien und gehe jetzt mal auf die dunkle Seite über und wurde John Doe´s bester Freund und habe alles verrückte und böse mit ihm und für ihn gemacht, die meisten guten Charaktere waren dadurch

    Take my 10

    It's a game I like more or less the same as the first game, but it's much more varied in terms of content and the graphics are better. Also the villains in the game are more diverse and there is the Joker.

    Telltale’s second Batman season packs a punch with its action, audio and morally questionable main villain, but falters when it comes to making the most of its plot or detective gameplay potential.

    The Enemy Within is less unpleasant than Guardians of the Galaxy or Minecraft: Story Mode in the same way catching a cold is less unpleasant than getting a full-blown flu. [06/2018, p.48]
