Batman: The Enemy Within - Episode 5: Same Stitch

Same Stitch is a fantastic end to a killer season. Batman: The Enemy Within is, in my mind, unequivocally the best thing Telltale has ever put to code.

The final episode turned out to be so good that you can easily forget about the unsuccessful first season.

Telltale’s second Batman season goes out with a bang, as it boldly reinvents the familiar in grand fashion while ensuring that players have an emotional and personal investment in the crazy twists dealt to them when the Joker runs wild.

I was asked recently if I thought someone should but the game or wait for a sale. It’s somewhat a tough choice because the story is definitely worth it… if it was a movie I would say add it to your collection without hesitation (and this episode has some stunning use of lighting that really revs up that cinema feel).

Telltale’s final piece of content for The Enemy Within is as surprising as it is crazy. And because of that, it’s the studio’s best game for sometime. Expect the unexpected and just enjoy the ride.

Same Stitch concludes Telltale's second season brilliantly, and Joker is shown once again to be Batman's greatest foe, written beautifully by the guys at Telltale.

The finale to Batman: The Enemy Within is epic, action-packed, and can play totally differently depending on player choice. Dialogue, characters, locations, scenes and even the outcome are vastly altered, and the whole character of The Joker can either be a deranged friend or a deadly foe. ‘Same Stitch’ is a spectacular end to arguably Telltale’s best series, and one that encourages players to replay the entire thing to see how things could’ve gone.

Same Stitch is an amazing epilogue for an interesting and well-crafted season. It feels rushed sometimes and almost forgets about some characters that we learned to love (and hate) in the previous episodes, but the way your conflict with the main villain—and yourself—evolves is really thrilling and efficient.

There may not be puzzles to solve but there is certainly lots to keep you involved.

This season has had its ups and downs, but this final episode is just great, and reminds us of the best of Telltale.

Telltale had a difficult task on its hands with all these headliner villains in its cast. It would be near impossible to pull off a story that gave equal story time to everyone, and the final showdown we got feels appropriately epic. This Joker’s no Mark Hamill, but I’ll still remember him fondly.
