    This game is damn-near perfect. The combat is flawless, the length is perfect, the story is great, the collectibles are awesome, and the map/setting is just amazing, acting like a 3d metrovania. There's something about the smaller setting of Arkham Island that really makes this game shine and the bigger games like City and Knight just can't compete with.

    First game in the Arkham series. It has always been my least favorite and least remembered game. There are a lot of things I found boring because of the maps being too small and the limitations in the gameplay, but it's definitely not a bad game and it's still playable.

    If this game was not designed on dc characters, it would be a very good game, but the fact that batman and joker are in the game makes the game closer to perfection. The fighting mechanics are very successful and the linear storytelling makes the game unbeatable in a different way. It's one of the few games I play over and over again.

    The Batman game that started the excellent Arkham Trilogy by Rocksteady Studios!

    Pros:
    + Story is good!
    + Gameplay is good!
    + Great voice acting by Kevin Conroy and Mark Hammill returning as their iconic roles as Batman
    and Joker!
    + Great world building and lots of easter eggs and references!

    Cons:
    - Gadgets could have been used more in exploration

    I didn't expect this game to be that good. It is actually a really pleasant surprise for me. Despite the fact that this is quite an old game it's really modern and addictive. Graphic on PC is stunning, gameplay is all right but could be better. Story is short and little bit stupid but overall it is a really good experience! Btw unfortunately through my playthrough i had a lot of crushingI didn't expect this game to be that good. It is actually a really pleasant surprise for me.     Had little to no expectations, when i was beginning to play i thought to myself this game ain't for me i won't enjoy this. Oh boy i was wrong really enjoyed to the bone, found myself collecting riddler trophies and its the reason why this game won't get a higher rating for me, riddler stuff sucks collected all for a **** phone call.

    The style of the game is what I'd describe as gritty comic-book style. Overall the art direction with its dark, gothic atmosphere is fantastic. The locations are as diverse as you could make them without it feeling out of place.
    Most of the characters are great looking although this is probably my biggest gripe with the game on a couple of levels. Firstly the variety of the goons is too small. They all look almost the same. Secondly, I just didn't like the over-the-top muscles. In my taste, it's fine to have some comic-book-style muscles here and there, but in this game every inmate in this insane asylum is about as ripped as Schwarzenegger in his prime. It gets a bit ridiculous and takes away some of the grittiness of the presentation. The supervillains were all fantastic.
    The script is well written for the medium and over-the-top in a charming way. The voice acting is phenomenal. Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill are on top of their game. Both bring the game a fantastic Batman Animated vibe. Hamill will always be the best comic-like interpretation of the Joker for me and Conroy's voice simply IS Batman for me. Arleen Sorkin as always does a great Harley Quinn. Her delivery of "Bye-bye Batman" at the death screen is just great. I could go on about the voice actors because every one of them is amazing. Tom Kane and Wally Wingert are also great, alright I'll knock it off.
    Finally, this is a game that actually got collecting stuff fun. There are a couple of reasons for this. Many of the collectibles give you backstories to the asylum and its inmates, some familiar that you don't meet. It's great fun seeing how the different villain's cells look. It also makes the game a bit of a metriodvania in that you need to backtrack to get many of the collectibles. But since the map isn't too big and the puzzles aren't too convoluted it makes backtracking to collect stuff feels like you're mastering the game instead of tedious busy work like many other games. There are few games that I spend the time collecting everything but this is one of them.    … Expand

    First of all, I don't like beat 'em up games. That's why I'm bored fighting in this game. But I think the fighting mechanics are well designed compared to other beat 'em up games. The overall atmosphere of the game is very good. It reflects the Gotham style well. The character voices and the design of the characters are very nice. The graphics are pretty good for the year. Combat is fluid and smooth, as is movement, grappling, and sliding. The graphics are great, the combos are excellently scripted and executed, and the boss battles are unique. The game has many mini-players to enjoy, includingtoo many 10's for my taste. a 10 is a perfect game that hits all the buttons, and while Batman: Arkham Asylum is a really great game, it does have its downsides. Combat is fluid and smooth, as is movement, grappling, and sliding. The graphics are great, the combos are excellently scripted and executed, and the boss battles are unique. The game has many mini-players to enjoy, including puzzle challenges and extra fighting content, among other things. Now for my little criticisms and why the game doesn't deserve a 10. First, using the detective skill is a bit demeaning. They're not mysteries, more like following this here, taking a picture, moving on, Batman thinks about the rest. My second qualm is the x-ray-like vision you get. This is the most exploitative and useful equipment in the game. I love and hate. It makes these beautiful drops very easy and I am always aware of the presence of everyone else in a room. This really diminishes with the effectiveness of the challenge. Most people would say "Wlel just don't use", but it's there. I don't agree with the assessment on the voice acting as Batman's cold commentary and the big liners made by the Joker and Harley were entertaining. Also, I must defend this game from the idea of ​​non-multiplayer. What do you want, Joker fighting Batman in 1v1? Team play? A multiplayer for this game wouldn't have been more than a cheesy gimmick. My only other qualms were that the plot was a bit short. However, this isn't the game's fallback, it's more the player experience. People new to games or who like to enjoy this time can easily rack up 6-12 hours of gameplay, while the traditional and experienced gamer can probably browse the game in a 4-5 hour session.     My favorite superhero game. Batman A A has become a model for third-person superhero games, and this is evident in the latest Spidermans from Insomniac Games. Arkham Asylum has an amazing atmosphere, music, clever storyline and flowly combat system. Riddler puzzles and the environment, which requires frequent use of gadgets, are also noteworthy. My favorite game in the Arkham trilogy.

    A very good game, I love canon Batman, showed in this game. Best in the series! I'm played City and Origins, but this is best! Only in the end of the game: battle with Titan Joker is little cringe, but what ever. Play one more time next year!

    One of those games that left its mark in videogame history with a brilliant combat system. Other than combat, story and dark theme are also amazing. I would gave it a even higher score but boss fights pushed it down.

Но потом появляются другие виды врагов и тогда боёвка реально начинает приносить удовольствие. К тому же,она очень красивая и была новинкой в то время.
    +Атмосфера. Это не передать словами,но атмосфера жутко мрачная и таинственная,как будто читаешь комикс про бэтмэна. Очень круто.
    +Разнообразие. Пожалуй,главный плюс,за который я и многие полюбили эту игру. В игре постоянно происходят какие-то уникальные моменты. По мимо открытых боёв,есть ещё стелс,где надо тихо зачистить комнату против вооружённых врагов. Каждый босс по своему уникален,куча классных головоломок от Загадочника, и всё это вкупе создаёт потрясающую игру. Третье появление пугала просто рвёт башку по своей крутости.
    Но теперь стоит и о минусах,благо они не очень существенные.
    -Сюжет. Он не плохой,но довольно банальный. Самое тупое,это то,как сбегает Джокер,очень трэшово это выглядит. И вообще,всё довольно просто и без неожиданных поворотов.
    -Финальная битва. Ожидаешь,что финальный бой с Джокером будет очень запоминающимся и крутым, при условии того,что все предыдущие битвы с боссами были особенными, но к сожалению,бой был простым и ничем не запомнился,очень жаль.
    -Отсутствие русского языка. Не знаю почему,но тут даже интерфейс на английском. В следующих частях исправили. Не знаю,почему тут не было.
    Итог: Потрясающая игра про бэтмэна. Несмотря на то,что сюжет банальный,за ним все равно интересно наблюдать. Заслуженно игра года 2009, и одна из лучших игр вообще.

The game is amazing in almost everyway, from Story and Characters, to Gameplay Mechanics.     I have always enjoyed many aspects of Arkham Asylum. Asylum always gives me the chills, cause the asylum has this creepy atmosphere (The same one outlast has, but more milder). This game has unique combat system and the graphics holds even onto this day. The only thing i don't like about this game is the boss fights.     The interface is wonderful. You have so much information immediately available to you. Google Maps always has a minimap in the lower left corner, which gives you a good overview of the area. Getting information about people gives you a clear, clear window. Hacking offers a menu with easily recognizable icons, so you always know what your button presses will do.

    My favourite game of all time. The atmosphere is amazing, acting is professional and the gameplay keeps you playing. I also loved the Riddler trophies, kept me playing for days. I would recommend the whole series (except Warner's game, the Arkham Origins). Amazing graphics with details.

    Still the best Arkham game. It has the best story and the best atmosphere. The pseudo open-world of the sequels doesn't really add anything except pad out the game time. It makes you think you've got more content, when in reality, you're just spending more time traveling in between missions.

Before this I had only played Arkham Origins and seeing that the Batman in Arkham Asylum is that "underwear Batman", I was even more hesitant in trying it. But somehow I convinced myself that I can't understand Arkham City or Knight without playing this one so I will somehow "convince" myself into playing this.

    Turns out I was wrong. This game is a downright masterpiece. Unlike most games that make your environment constricted, this one actually makes it feel very, very open. All the villains we knew are in this game - Joker (of course), Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Bane, Killer Croc, Scarecrow. And then there's Riddler's puzzles which help us unlock the character bios and trophies.

    Speaking of that, the side quests of this game are excellent. It's what one can enjoy doing once they've finished the main game. This review comes at a time when I haven't played Arkham City yet, so I don't know if they have maintained this level of side quests later on (it wasn't this entertaining in Arkham Origins so I'm a bit sceptical).

    I can say this for sure that this is one of the best stealth games of the time it was released, with the only possible contender being Assassin's Creed II. I hope I will come back to this game at some other point in my life, since I want to solve all of Riddler's challenges.    … Expand

Batman: Arkham Asylum will engulf you in the perfect atmosphere, which simply Batman and especially the games from the Arkham series have always been able to do. Batman does not have his typical rough voice here, which we may know, for example, from the film trilogy by Christopher Nolan. In short, it's a slightly different voice and a little better for me. But we will move on from the characters, even if they form a crucial role here. For example, I will not mention Harley Quinn or others, because it would be a long time to describe how much I like their processing here. So let's move on to an amazing environment. The Joker's madhouse has its charm. You go through this whole institute and solve various puzzles or ways to get somewhere else with the help of Batman toys, such as explosive gel or others. Of course, what kind of Batman would it be if we didn't have the opportunity to really beat up a few bastards doing trouble to others. Our dark bat hero has a lot of delicious combos here, thanks to which you will give one poem a blow to the enemas. In addition to all this, you can improve Batman with the progress of the acquired XP, so that gradually the battles are even better. The story is amazing and I don't want to spoiler it for you. I will just mention that there is also Scarecrow, which is one of my very favorite characters from the DC world. The passages with him in this game are absolutely luxurious and I swallowed with pleasure. Subsequently, we will see some couple of boss fights, which are also not wrong. In fact, the only mistake of the game is the already mentioned institute in which the game is located. Although I praised him and he is amazing, he is quite small and you will go through it quite quickly. In other words, if you are not interested in the story and you just want to run around the game so freely, you have no option where to go. Otherwise, this is an amazing game, which I recommend, logically mainly to fans of Batman, but I think that even the biggest fans of Batman can enjoy the game.… Expand

    I played this game to my Marvel fan friend and he is now a DC fan.I guess it's because of the fighting mechanics.

    One of the games I have re-played multiple times. Fighting, graphics, general feeling of being a Batman. Great story.

    I can say with confidence and cannot stress enough, Batman: Arkham Asylum is, without a doubt, the best Batman game ever created. It does more than give you the Batman game you want, it gives you a video game that you could play repeatedly, even if it didn't have the caped and cowled Dark Knight in it.
