    Banner of the maid is a great strategy rol game, that take place in an alternative french revolution where girls have special powers to lead their army to the victory. It is a pleasure for the strategy rol games fans.

    If only that localisation didn't put a dampener on everything by making a full half of the game, and, critically, the context that gives the action purpose, so irritating to sit through. Please, developers. It's fine to have a broken English port for a game where the narrative isn't relevant, but when we're talking about RPGs, make the investment and hire a premium localisation outfit. It will lift your game, significantly. There are, apparently, console versions of Banner of the Maid set to come later. I hope on feedback the team does get a new localisation done, because fixing that issue will add a couple of stars to the score, effortlessly. Everything else about it is truly wonderful.

    A good tactical game makes you feel dumb when loosing, Banner of the Maid makes you feel cheated, as it's less about forming a plan, and more about retrying missions to discover which exact "route" to follow. Add to this a heavy lack of balance, some annoying friendly AI, and a needlessly long length, and this makes this Chinese-born SRPG hard to recommend. Its flawless pixel art style, and sexy anime look are really the only things of any worth here.

Deep and complex, with lots of content, great pixel art and anime-style art, with an interesting alternate take on the story of the French Revolution.     Great call back to the old generation of fire emblem games. Game is challenging and never got frustratingly difficult.
