CRPG on an extreme high level. Story telling is insanely good, voiceovers are stunning. Combat is good (even if turn based is just not everybodys cup of tea), the companions are really nice and interesting. Of course, the game still has some bugs, but I haven't encountered any game breakers. But Larian works hard on fixing issues, much harder than bigger companies. The camera has some design flaws, some work on this topic would be nice.

BG3 has even more potential: 1-3 more origin characters with different backgrounds (like a half-orc, dwarf, halfling), the content cut from the game, especially in act 3. I'm not much into pre-ordering, but I would order a DLC just now even without knowing about it. For some years, I had not much fun in gaming - the last game I had fun with was vanilla WoW Classic, but now with BG3 I could play the whole weekend :-) if you are into story based RPGs and don't mind turn-based combat, I can recommend this awesome game to you.

The game world is big, but every single inch of it is filled with purpose.
Dialogue is great, puzzle difficulty is just right.

Update: I am now about to reach a total of 400 hours play time. And the game has yet to grow stale on me. A high replay-ability value because you can explore choices you didn't take in your previous run.

To my mamy wpływ na to w jaki sposób chcemy zbudować swój zespół. Najwyższy czas przejść do minusów. Poczułem wielką ulgę kiedy historia dobrnęła do końca i mogłem zobaczyć zakończenie, ponieważ ostatni pojedynek musiałem resetować kilkanaście razy. Expand

The turn-based gameplay, which was considered outdated, is revitalized in this game, making it incredibly entertaining with numerous possibilities and ways to play, including a wealth of builds, combinations, and items that aid in battles. But for me, the biggest highlight of this video game is its ability to make you feel like a part of its world. You truly immerse yourself in the game with every action you take, whether you choose the path of good or evil, you feel that you leave your mark on the game world with your decisions.

Every technical aspect is very well done, with an outstanding soundtrack, well-crafted atmosphere, and world design, and it's graphically beautiful as well.

In summary, it's the best RPG I've ever played and a game that sets a new standard in the genre and in video games as a whole. Whether you're not typically drawn to this type of game or turned off by turn-based mechanics, you should definitely give it a try; it won't disappoint, and you'll discover a truly marvelous world.

This game made me feel like a little kid, trying to beat the genius of our DM in our old D&D gang again. Story is amazing. You can lose yourself in the side quests for hours. The fact that it allows you to have creative freedom to tackle any challenge thrown at you is exactly how a D&D game should be. In every sense, BG3 delivered on expectations and more... well done!

The irony is that the returning elves from the previous game look far older than what they're supposed to chronologically. Honestly, the returning characters just feel like needless pandering since they really have no baring on what feels like a completely new story (perhaps they shouldn't have made this a "Baldur's Gate" game considering that refers specifically to the Bhaalspawn trilogy). Then you've got the issue with the ending (I've heard they've patched in new ones since I last played), you've essentially got two generic endings (good/bad) which don't really have any bearing on your characters alignment (neutral/chaotic/lawful) and it honestly was/is about as lazy as the controversial ending of the Mass Effect trilogy. I'm not the only one who noticed the ham-stringed romance (not to mention the bestiality option) that felt rushed and honestly like it was an afterthought, it's literally one of the biggest things the community memes on...

The gameplay doesn't feel like a CRPG in the Baldur's Gate franchise either and the choice to go for turn based combat was a mistake. The graphics would have been good if the game was made in 2014, the game came out looking dated and having technical issues which still haven't been addressed for higher resolution monitors.

As it stands I know a lot of people have artificially pushed this game because of the controversy surrounding the bear sex, the console wars (Sony fanboys unironically thought it was an exclusive and the belief that this game broke modern AAA conventions because it's slightly less exploitative then most modern releases (so far no forced DLC or micro-transactions, just ignore their use of pre-order culture/betas which anyone born before 2005 would view as a bad thing).

This true RPG offered me a great sense of freedom when it comes to how I approach and resolved quests. Very rarely did I feel like I was limited in how I tackled a problem.

The storytelling, scenarios, and visuals are nothing short of superb, and the game has lots of memorable and interesting characters to interact with.

Baldur's Gate 3 is divided into three acts. Unfortunately, the third act experiences a dip in quality due to a handful of bugs and some inconsistencies in quest progression. These hiccups are a result of the intricate web of choices available to players. Additionally, the pacing takes a hit towards the end, making the game feel like it drags on a bit. These issues prevent it from achieving a perfect 10/10 in my eyes.

Nevertheless, Baldur's Gate 3 remains an absolute must-play for any RPG enthusiast.

With a vast world to explore with varied stories and secrets to discover, Baldur's Gate 3 definitely shines. The cast is largely appealing and voice acting is top notch all-around, even if the storytelling and line delivery is varied in its pace. Character progression is somewhat weak in the opening levels but has a strong foundation for a great buildcraft experience, even if it lacks some on the fly experimentation seen in Larian's past efforts. Despite some performance woes in the later parts of the game and controller hangups, this is a journey worth taking for fans of Dungeons & Dragons or those new to the role playing field.

Larian Studios, the creators of the latest installment, have gone to great lengths to make sure they didn't disgrace any of the franchise's building blocks. The love and care is evident in Baldur's Gate 3, though needless to pretend, there aren't a few bricks crumbling here and there in this monument. It's far from a perfect title, but on the whole Baldur's Gate 3 is a brilliant computer RPG that is undoubtedly not to be overlooked. [Issue#329]

Baldur’s Gate III is a title that many would not have thought possible just a few years ago. The game serves to further Larian Studios’s already strong reputation, and the studio deserves massive credit for refusing to panic, taking its time to get things right, and continuing to offer improvements even after launch at an impressive rate. Hopefully, it is able to reap the richly deserved rewards for doing so.
