This is an old but intriguing game. Yeah, the puzzles aren't hard and it can be a bit annoying to control, there's no volume control, resolution is fixed and the over-acting is cringeworthy, but the unique setting and atmosphere makes up for the defects. Given I bought the game for under a dollar I felt it was more than worth my money and time for the experience.

Bad Mojo was amazing. I had heard about it many years ago but I recently remembered of it after seeing it mentioned in a list of good old games. The video cutscenes are silly (and very low quality) but they are funny but the gameplay is impeccable. It surprised me that while it was traditionally harder than newer games, it wasn’t that bad and I think the balance of its difficulty even forBad Mojo was amazing. The video cutscenes are silly (and very low quality) but they are funny but the gameplay is impeccable. It surprised me that while it was traditionally harder than newer games, it wasn’t that bad and I think the balance of its difficulty even for 2019 was excellent. It did not hand hold you and a puzzle or two could have better controls to make more sense, but it always gave hints. Only minor gripe I have with it is that the symbol that denotes there’s a guide nearby could be more explicitly explained at the start as an existence in the game because resolution was too low to notice it at the start.

Anyway, 9/10. It could easily be remade or turn HD.

PS. It would likely digust you at first. I nearly stopped playing the game entirely because of it. But it’s part of its character.

This game is really bad actually, the exploration is boring, puzzles are so-so challenging and I'm more concerned about dead rats in a video game. Also it's really short, hardly worth buying again.

One of the all time favorites is back! And looking good!

It's clever, but the puzzles are too easily solved (and solutions are telegraphed), and the game ends too quickly. Disappointing on both counts. It often looks nice, however, and has a quirky sense of humour. Bad acting is made good by its extreme hamminess.

I can't believe this classic is back. Loved it the first time and it still holds up. The DVD extras include a "making of" documentary with crazy stories about the creators cockroach farm. Good buy for $20.

Play it because it is weird and unique. The subject matter can be grotesque but that's the charm of this game. Beautifully crafted graphics and music. Slow paced, you get to absorb the atmosphere. The puzzles are not difficult to figure out, plus there are hints on what should be done next. You don't find games like this everyday.

  1. Undoubtedly one of the "must play" adventure games. There is simply no other game quite like it. The 2004 release is not a new game and not even a remake, however the significantly improved technical quality and wealth of additional material, combined with an attractive price, will make the new Bad Mojo appealing even to existing owners of the 1996 version.
  2. This sucker is hard. Exploration is the name of the game and quite often you will have to perform an action in one part of the house that has ramifications somewhere far off in another room. Putting it all together is definitely a challenge.
  3. For those who've never played the original, Bad Mojo Redux is a must-have. Load it up and see what all the shouting was about. For those who've played the Win3.1 version, Bad Mojo Redux is what the game should have looked like and, when coupled with the companion DVD, is the deal of the year.
