I'm really sorry but there is no balance , like at ALL, AI is sucking the greatest PP you can imagine like there is a window with broken glass in chapter three ( don't remember exact lol ) and bots are trying to jump in it and stuck there . But not everything is bad . There is good shooting , weapons feel really nice . Can say nothing about story . GG… Expand

    ove the concept of rogue-like style, has a card to choose your style of play.
    but it is all good things.
    Game is too short, if you play with AI, it's terrible, they cannot help you when you need help.
    I can't believe I can make through this.

    There is so many of these Service Based, Pay or Grind games now..All the things the gaming consumer railed against has come to pass ..And now modern gaming is these souless micro transaction filled grindfests, like Back for blood..
    Movement and combat is identical to every other FPS Since 2014 and the rest is Left for Dead , pay to win..

    It's just not fun. Left 4 Dead had pacing and tension, this is just overlong and rather bland. Whatever key people that made Left 4 dead great seem to no longer work for this studio. Don't even try unless you have 3 others to play with, randoms and bots are mostly just awfull.

    Boring story, No currency gain or true progress in offline, not everyone wants to play with others to gain in game currency.
    Character design was god awful, the card system is terrible this wasn't supposed to be like a worse star wars battlefront card system.

    It's just the same boring and repetetive game as left4dead. nothing new, nothing special. it's mild fun for a short time

    Bottom line for me is gameplay is not fun.

    Graphics are fine, game runs fine, seems to have enough depth, controls feel fine. But the game is just not fun to play. Obviously this is pretty subjective, but I just do not enjoy it and I love shooters and play a lot of these style of games in coop with my friends. I want to say the problem is the zombies are too fast and spawn everywhere    Bottom line for me is gameplay is not fun.

    If you are looking for this type of game, try Aliens: Fireteam Elite. It is very similar in the level of polish etc, but the gameplay is much more fun.    … Expand

    the name sounds like a Chinese fake left4dead. cheap replacement models with the intention of getting money out of players' pockets. A game that brings nothing but frustrated players to the gaming industry.

    Плохая оптимизация. То ли фризы или лаги. Система загружена на 75% а играть не возможно. Стреляешь на угад. Одно и тоже что ты ставишь графику на всю что на минимум одинаково. Знал бы то не купил бы. Игра так на любителя.

    This game is really bad.

    The story is ridiculous, the characters have absolutely zero personality, the dialogues are very bad (including the farting jokes). I also think that a lot of their sentences are often the same at the same moment. Presumably to explain what you will have to do, even if it fails do to that most of the time.     The objectives are not interesting,and the same objectives are reused several times in the game, and they are not well explained. They are also bugged, i encountered a game breaking bug in Act 2 when I destroyed the three nests which blocked the progression, including the final bug one, but the game considered that I only destroyed one. Restarting the level did not fix this, I thing I should have quit and restarted the game.

    The objectives are also often totally disconnected from the flow of the game, leading to the player have absolutely zero engagement to do them (except that he must, or he can not continue the level). The characters are 100% engaged, but not the player.

    The Director seems to still be bugged since the Beta. And his way to give challenge is to put several specials of the same type (and make them much more resistant to bullets). Their only tactics is to go to the players in a straight line (from afar if its outside).

    There are a LOT of invisible walls everywhere, some of them are of a special type which don't prevent to cross this invisible line but lead to the immediate death of the player.    … Expand

    I expected 8v8 multiplayer to be like left 4 dead. Instead you survive in an arena and take turns beating the times? Where is the safe houses survival levels like left 4 dead? Arenas will be stale in a month this game will be dead.

    Announce a new game mode asap!

The different colors alone, different structure of the maps as well and in general way more maps and levels.

    I'm really not a fan of the card system. Was it really needed? Does it really make the game more interesting? Couldn't they add complexity any other way? It's also not balanced and way too much randomness in my opinion. And you should be able to customise your weapons freely.

    Left 4 Dead was just fun. Start and instantly play. No problems. But Back 4 Blood adds unnecessary grind that only adds some faux depth like in Age of Empires 3. Nobody liked the cards in AOE3, since it was stupid. It's stupid here as well.

    And the cutscenes are annoying. Stop trying to create movie snippets to tell a story. Don't be lazy. Tell a story with the unique and inherent tools of the medium. Storytelling is highly appreciated, but f*** cutscenes! They add nothing to the medium. In movies there is a rule: "Show don't tell!! In games you could translate it to: "Let the player engage through interactivity, don't show". Let players participate in the story. Don't force them to be passive spectators!    … Expand

    About PvP, no versus campaign, no scavenge, versus mode is a battle royal survival with no balance and no fun...

    The game feels like they tried everything a game like this had to do, but they didn't go further and make it work in every aspect..
    I put a 2 because i got some fun shooting for a while, but I just love shooting in games so maybe is only me... The game could've been so good and be the descendant to l4d2, but sadly I don't think this game will last not even a quarter of what l4d2 lasted till now..    … Expand

    it's fun if you have friends to play with but for me who want single player mode, just skip it bots on cleaner sided are too dumb and feel frustrate to play with.

    Creators of l4d my as*, they sold us alredy evolve with this scheme.
    Reg doll - bad, 0 script's, looks awful
    No fun playing online pvp. Progression system forces you to feel uncomfortable. No rememberable music. Sound design meh. Oh yeah, story exists. I guess.

    - Poor boring story
    - Dated graphics
    - Unbalanced difficulty
    - Horrible AI
    - very poor Solo experience
    - Inferior copy of Left 4 dead

    Basically left 4 dead 2 with some improvements (not enough improvements after 10 years !)

    The maps and atmosphere are worst than the previous 2 games and I don't think it worths 60 dollars.
    On top of that, they want you to pay for extra content while there is a clear lack of content on the base game ...

    1) Worst part is collision and damage registration. AI can kill you through walls or over visible range. You cant predict wich attack hit you by mesh or by invisible force field. 2) AI spawn everywhere, closed isolated room cleared before not a problem for spawn new hord. AI can spawn over you head from skys or under    I wish send positive reviews but cant in order of lots of problems.

    4) Lobby with only 1 or 2 persons is ok?

    5) Tighten UX/UI because of long animations and routine actions. Really i need notice on my starting cards and ect? Cant auto skip intro on each run starts?

    This game can be good but i cant enjoy this while lots of problems still here.    … Expand

    They make game harder on purpose and nerf players.
    "This PVE game is too easy and the players are having too much good time, so let's nerf players and their weapons and make zombies OP! "

    This is what dev think and that they have done in the new November patch. Just like Blizzard, they try to teach players how to play game.

    Just to save you money go play l4d if you want to shoot hordes of zombies. Or get the game pass ultimate for 1$ and try this out, although I wouldn't say it's even worth the hassle.

    Back 4 Blood is one of those games that you don’t have to particularly worry about grinding, which is incredibly refreshing. Between grinding for in-game currency for dungeon gear in FFXIV, and trying to level up my weapons in Dauntless, it’s nice to have a game I can jump back into with my friends at any point in time and just play. It’s fast-paced, creative, and just all-around good fun. What’s not to love? The game has been out for a while, but that just means that the developers have had more time to listen to feedback and start fixing some of those bugs that have been bothering players.

    Along the way, many mutated creatures cross your path. These include not only the classic slow undead, but whole hordes of super-fast and agile, bloodthirsty zombies - called ridden in the game - to gigantic monstrosities that can send you to oblivion with a single punch. Those nine different types of opponents provide enough variety in the challenges to keep the game engaging for hours.

    One step forward, two steps back, couple steps to the side with some awkward shuffling thrown in-between – that’s how Back 4 Blood feels compared to Left 4 Dead. Card-based power-up system is the only interesting thing about it. [Issue#256, p.40]
