    The game excels over Left4Dead2 in many ways. The card system is adds a very interesting dynamic to the game and encourages you to generate new builds. The graphics are fantastic and the controls feel solid. The atmosphere is very Left4Dead and the characters, while perhaps not as memorable as the originals, are still quirky and interesting.     I've had fun playing it with and without friends. One of the biggest flaws of the game is the UI menus are difficult to navigate. I've read dozens of complaints that an online game can't be initiated with bots which is entirely untrue. If you and one other friend want to play on a run with two bots it's entirely possible but you need to switch your party to private.     I'm not sure why this game gets so much hate. Very faithful to L4D in my eyes. Wasn't sure about the card system, but i enjoy making decks for different builds. Level design is good and gets better the further you progress. pretty solid weapon selection. Weapon modding is a nice touch. Weapons feel pretty "punchy" and I like the feel of each one.     I think the gore could be better. L4d still has great gore effects, especially with explosions sending bodys flying unlike this game where they just turn to blood mist. The way special infected are spawned in 1 after another usually 2 of the same at a time is very frustrating at higher difficulties. No mod support means the longevity of the game is severely shortened. Just look how well L4D is doing on steam.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The biggest gripe I see with this game is “it’s repetitive” - news flash, every game is repetitive. It’s kind of the whole angle of video games. If you’re looking for the next L4D - here it is. The card system took some getting use to, the game could have done a better job at explaining that you’re meant to play through on “Easy” before you attempt higher difficulty….aside from that hiccup, it’s awesome. The story is ho-hum, but after some time with the game I can say the characters are the best we’ve had since OG L4D. The dialogue is varied and hilarious, the gunplay is sharp and the overall gameplay loop is extremely reminiscent of L4D. All that got added were cards (which are a lot of fun at higher difficulty levels) and the round-round “upgrade” mode like you see in any CS game. It actually works pretty well at keeping rounds fresh but stagnates a little when you’re waiting for human players to finish picking their load out. All in all an amazing game. One I was worried about after playing Beta but the amount of polish they managed to add between then and release makes me very hopeful this will be a well supported game. Despite angry community leeches that got it for free just to realize…”Oh no it’s not another Fortnite COD clone! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH”. 10/10… Expand

    I was waiting for a game like this for years, a old school genre pioneered by the same team with Left 4 Dead but with some improvements in 2021, the cards system really adds to the replay ability and its fun to mess around like creating a Left 4 Dead no aiming and sprinting deck.

    Levels have good variations for launch, can't wait to see more!     So all in all, it may not be Left 4 Dead and while there are things missing, in the end however, Back 4 Blood is a very good game that is worth the time to play and recommend.

    Back4blood does exactly what you would expect from the same team as Left4Dead. Its a gruesome and badass zombie shooter which has perfectly arrived in time for this years spooky season. The co-op is great and haven't had any issues gaining access to servers. The story is there but its not the most important or interesting story.     Great game, the real evolution of L4D, while L4d offers a simpler fun experience, B4B takes that concept and expands it thanks to the card system the corruption cards makes every run different adding more challenges, stronger zombies or special infected and at the same time you get to buff your character with your own cards deck boosting your favorite playstyle.

    A great entry into a long dormant series. Some people are really nitpicking things like not being able to melee dead bodies, but no smart ass comments from the cleaners? Clearly turned off your audio. The characters are witty, funny, and have personality. The card system implements the deck builder rogue-lite aspect I love from games like Slay The Spire, which although obviously a remotely different game, Turtle Rock pulls it off beautifully in a way that makes almost any playstyle effective and worth trying. With only being in the first days of release, I'm sure minor bugs (which I personally haven't encountered) and smaller things people have gripes about will be fixed. I consider this game totally worth the cost, however I would heavily recommend playing with friends as the bots can be a bit incompetent, occasionally they do a great job, and other times they stand in the corner getting mauled before sprinting headlong into the nearest boomer/spitter amalgam.… Expand

    So far I absolutely love the game. It is such an improvement over what the beta was and I am definitely glad I bought the deluxe edition. So far I've only played with friends just cause there is no solo progression currently, but they have tweeted out that they saw people were frustrated with that and are discussing ways to address the issue so hopefully solo progression will be in soon.So far I absolutely love the game. The card system in the game is a little daunting as well, but once you get into it you begin to understand it more and enjoy it and each run does actually feel different because of the card system. Each corruption card which makes the enemies you face more difficult or you then have to deal with a new one altogether makes it more interesting and different for each playthrough, including the atmosphere changes, like the power is out or there is fog covering the map makes each run different and enjoyable. So besides the no solo progression the game has been a blast and I see myself playing this for a long time and I can't wait for future updates.… Expand

    The graphics and gameplay are top notch and quite similar to Left 4 Dead albeit way more responsive (think CoD or Battlefield) - which is great! Moreover the customizability is a huge improvement over the Left 4 Dead formula and the card system is quite brilliant. Thus far I have not encountered any major issues other than getting stomped the    Truly a Left 4 dead 3 in all but name!

    Not as good as L4D. Equally chaotic and good. Special infected/riddends appear way too often and are too strong, customization on guns could have some work, and levels are not as iconice and varied, still, very fun to play with friends and can expect to get better.

    I got the game and enjoyed it. Usually even if a game is bad, I try to give it a chance. This was not the case here. I think its a natural evolution of L4D. I do get people being upset about the PVP , I havent tried swarm mode, I mostly like playing solo and just chilling out after work, just how I did L4D and for that I have enjoyed it. Gonna try playing this weekend with some friends andI got the game and enjoyed it. Usually even if a game is bad, I try to give it a chance. This was not the case here.     Good game and I liked it. It looks like Left 4 Dead a little bit and don't have an atmosphere of this game but if we wouldn't look at it like a L4D's son, it's cool :3

    -special ridden spawn rate is a bit excessive. It definitely needs to be toned down but not as much as the beta
    -special ridden can be a bit hard to distinguish. They need more character and sound effects to cue when one is nearby
    -Needs a 4th difficulty. The jump from Rookie to Veteran is insane. Especially with the spamming of “Special” Ridden.
    -Versus is okay nothing really special.
    -Single Player can’t get achievements or any progress in general. All cards are unlocked right out of the gate. -Always online game

    All together it is a very fun game. Don’t go into this expecting a story just like Left 4 Dead it is all about gameplay and replay ability. I hope versus campaign makes a come back but for now PVE is great. This game has a lot of potential I just hope they can iron things out soon and I believe this game can be amazing.    … Expand

Back 4 blood adalah game yang seru, setiap act memiliki challenge yang random, membuatnya sulit untuk ditebak. Di gamenya ada sistem deck yang membuatnya menjadi grindy, kalau mau punya semua kartunya jadi harus main mulu. Namun, sistem decknya membuat kita lebih bebas untuk buildSetelah bermain sekitar 10 jam, mungkin sudah waktunya untuk review, walaupun belum tamat sampai semua act. Back 4 blood adalah game yang seru, setiap act memiliki challenge yang random, membuatnya sulit untuk ditebak.     it's a good game with friends, it has a pretty good difficulty there was a lot of improvement since the beta it's a pretty good gaming experience just like left for dead, but with a new spark that lifts it

    I'm a old player that played l4d1-2 very active in the past. I also played the alpha and beta from back 4 blood and i love this game. turtlerock got a good game right there. what people still don't get is that back 4 blood isn't a new left 4 dead. It's a fully new game. so don't hate the game dead because you think thats not a new left 4 dead.

    Good things:The game feels modern with good graphics not as high elevated graphics because not everyone has a high end pc,the gameplay feels awesome like a fps modern game not as bad but not as a triple a fps game like cod,map design very good whay better than left 4 dead,very good idea of design for the infected and characters, a good variety of weapons,the card system for me it was a good feature for the game it adds a new approach on making the game more replayable and easier to complete on the long run.
    Bad things:one of the things that make so good left 4 dead it was the casual gameplay that it has it is not dificult to play it even on expert but b4b its not easy to play they maked the game more dificult and the casual aspect its not there, for me it was a good balance i´m a hardcore gamer i like fps so the dificulty part it was not an issue for me, just on a few bad things that the game has that make it harder to play it that i´m gona tell next,the IA for the bots its bad that makes the game harder for single player experience so try to have at least one friend to play the game and its more fun,the story its not so good people compair it with left 4 dead but if you look at the story it´s not as good as you think also just a little better narrative,the pvp modes are so bad haha literaly they are unplayable and unbalanced,the game was to expensive in launch for the content of the game it was a good thing they added it on game pass,the game has little bugs with walls and stuff but almost every zombie game has those its dificult to have good optimization with a tone of infected runing around the map.
    Conclusion:Overall the game its good online coop game but nothing especial, what l4d has b4b hasn´t and what b4b has l4d hasn´t,this game was develop so weird that i don´t understand maybe it was the budget or the time or it was rushed i dont know, i follow the development of the game since day 1 because l4d1 its one of my favorite games of all time it was the first fps game that i played on my life even with that i was not expecting b4b to be better than l4d2 because its a whole new different game,i think people get to nostalgic and just not review the game as a new game and they think its l4d3,it has the base of l4d but theres a lot of games that has the base as l4d like vermintide,killing floor,zombie army,wwz and a lot more,i just saw the news that the devs will not longer suport the game and in my opinion its a good idea i hope they begin to understand more the public on every aspect and focus on a new game that is not as ambitious as b4b,i hope the users understand a better way to see the new games and not just a copy of some old games or sequel when its not.i have hope for the future of turtle rock its one of my favorite studios.    … Expand

    It's a proper fun hack n' slash and doesn't take itself seriously at all. The menu system is seamless. As per LFD, another player can jump in mid-game and take over an AI and just hit the road running.

    The card system in game initially seems very complicated and takes a bit of getting used to, but after a few stages, you start to realise how good it really is and it adds a fun decision element to the start of each run.

    I would definitely suggest starting as rookie in Campaign mode. We're running through veteran now and it's TOUGH! :)

They were used to the super casual feel of L4D and are angry that this game is harder. Jumping on with randoms in any difficult game makes it more difficult... surprise lol. There is one issue that is an actually valid that I'm seeing in the negative reviews. Spawn locations for mutated ridden (the specials zombies) can DICK YOU DOWN. They really need to fix that. Nothing feels worse than clearing a room, going through a window to said room, and watch a 10 ft tall beast of a zombie appear in a corner that was 5 ft from you and empty just a moment ago.     The game is good. Already Played 120 hours or so. Card system seemed dumb at first but turned out to be my favorite feature in this game.

    Warning, this game is haaaard, and there's a lot to take in. If you play above recruit mode and don't have the right cards or teammates, you're already dead.

    - Varios niveles de dificultad (yo admito que fui muy cabezón y me lo intente pasar a la primera en la dificultad más difícil de ese momento, pesadilla, y no podía, fui realista y baje la dificultad, a día de hoy ya puedo en pesadilla)
    - Tienes un sistema de personalización basado en cartas que te da la posibilidad de crear muchas maneras de jugar (desde ir con un bate por el mundo hasta ir solo tirando granadas y molotovs por el mapa)
    - Mucha rejugabilidad de los niveles
    - No hay microtransacciones ni siquiera de cosméticos
    - crossplay entre plataformas
    - Las armas son divertidas de utilizar, hay variedad entre todas sus clases
    - Los gráficos son bastante cuidados
    - si no tienes amigos para jugar puedes agregar a randoms con los que juegues en su sistema de agregar a amigos que va desde agregar de tu propia plataforma hasta a otras plataformas (mi caso soy play y puedo agregar a Xbox o PC)
    - En ps5 han adaptado muy bien el mando con sus funciones especiales que tiene, desde sentir el recoil y vibración diferente a cada arma que existe
    - personalización de skins y armas bastante notable
    -Gran variedad de zombies especiales
    *Malo: - Escasez de niveles (en total hay unos 30 y pico, pero yo que he jugado cientos de horas se me queda un poco corto al final)
    - pocas actualizaciones, es cierto que no podemos comparar actualizaciones a nivel de Fortnite por ejemplo, pero a día de hoy 16 de junio de 2022, desde que ha salido el juego, solo ha recibido una actualización de contenido, tueneles del terror y 3 de reworks de cartas y skins)
    - Bots, son de inteligencia bastante mala, disparan muy bien, te curan a veces y disparan muy bien, pero a la hora de hacer objetivos y cosas así... Vale la pena jugar este juego solo online, habrán algunas zonas que en dificultad alta serán imposible de hacer con bots a no ser que estés haciendo un speed run
    - Muy pocos modos de juego, es verdad que la gente se quejan de que no haya un modo de luchar contra jugadores en campaña, pero el juego ofrece solo dos modos de jugar, campaña con gente online o el modo enjambre, solo dos modos me parece poco la verdad.

    Reviewing for 2022 it's not a bad game, but it needs work in a few places. When the game first released and I played often with friends it was a lot of fun. Then after the game was out, no content for months then a minor expansion made it difficult to want come back to. But recently after the 2nd expansion was announced I was hopeful and started playing again to see what I missed.

    The expansion is good, but teams of randoms in the hives are often uncoordinated and can easily fall apart. Some of the grind can be downright miserable at times, and it felt like I was going to a 9-5 just to earn a new outfit for a cleaner. But playing solo with others is a fun experience I've had as
    my other friends have moved on by now.

    The cleaners have good personalities, and its fun to hear how they interact with each other, but god the voice lines are so annoying at times its like right out of a B-movie and you'll hear them a lot with how much they want you to play.

    Overall the content drought for the game is still ongoing, but I hope the expansions will breathe new life into an already good game that seemed to have lost the general audiences good graces months/years ago.    … Expand

    Very good L4D game.

    Does not deserve 10/10 or 9/10 though because of the lobby control and QoL features to save and continue online or something like that

    As a huge Left 4 Dead 2 fan, I thoroughly enjoy this title. Sure, story and character-wise this game isn't too impressive, but with all of the new additions each run brings something different and exciting.

    Es un juegazo :"3 y está bien optimizado, no debieron de decir que era el sucesor de l4d, pero fuera de eso es muy buen juego, bonitos mapas, los infectados medios raros de entender pero entretenidos aunque el diseño es repetitivo en algunos, tiene una mecánica de cartas interesante y entretenida y es muy buen juego en general, me trae melancolía, aunque claro está que no lo deberían deEs un juegazo :"3 y está bien optimizado, no debieron de decir que era el sucesor de l4d, pero fuera de eso es muy buen juego, bonitos mapas, los infectados medios raros de entender pero entretenidos aunque el diseño es repetitivo en algunos, tiene una mecánica de cartas interesante y entretenida y es muy buen juego en general, me trae melancolía, aunque claro está que no lo deberían de ver como l4d3… Expand

    Back 4 Blood is one of those games that you don’t have to particularly worry about grinding, which is incredibly refreshing. Between grinding for in-game currency for dungeon gear in FFXIV, and trying to level up my weapons in Dauntless, it’s nice to have a game I can jump back into with my friends at any point in time and just play. It’s fast-paced, creative, and just all-around good fun. What’s not to love? The game has been out for a while, but that just means that the developers have had more time to listen to feedback and start fixing some of those bugs that have been bothering players.

    Along the way, many mutated creatures cross your path. These include not only the classic slow undead, but whole hordes of super-fast and agile, bloodthirsty zombies - called ridden in the game - to gigantic monstrosities that can send you to oblivion with a single punch. Those nine different types of opponents provide enough variety in the challenges to keep the game engaging for hours.
