It's really really really bad, map design is horrible, characters are flat, it's quite unpleasant to the eyes. The game lacks balancing and progression is really bad. Another really bad point would be that, the game expects you to find some key characters to advance the plot, problem is, there's abslolutely no hint or npc directing you to any place. You're just left to move in the wasteland that is this game without any hint or anything, with the game expecting you to find those key npc. It's really annoying and not fun at all. I get that old JRPG often had "bad" directions or hint but the best of them were really smart about it and always hinted you at least a bit (Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy are the best exemple for old school JRPGs). Here, the game (and its designers) think that they make a game with those same mechanics but completely fail to understand them and make them work at all. The end product is painfully a mediocre game with almost no positive and a LOT of negatives and frustrating things (you can't flee from battle in a game where even random mobs can one shot you thanks to the awful balancing).

Also special shoutout to the final boss, with multiple one shot skills that will destroy your party, even when you've got buffs on. It's random with no particular patterns. There's no way to ressurect multiple characters or have an unconditional damage mitigation technique. There's also the issue that the characters you did'nt use have kept with other characters so they are all completely underleveled, and it just so happens there's a certain character that's pretty bad for the main game but gets a plot power up just before the final boss. Too bad for you if that character is only lvl 35 while your main party is lvl 76. Also, if you die you need to rewatch the entire dialogue before the final boss.

I absolutely do not recommand this game. Just play old school JRPG that are actually good. Do not buy it. It's a lot of frustration and really not that much fun to be had. I don't see how people like this game, most likely blind nostalgia.
