Autopsy Simulator is more a narrative game than a simulator, but it delivers a good story.

Autopsy Simulator’s puzzle elements may be dead on arrival, but the well-researched autopsy cases presented in the unsettling atmosphere of an isolated coroner’s office injects enough thrills to give the game some measurable signs of life.

Autopsy Simulator is a grim experience. This simulation title lets you run wild in a morgue. Furthermore, there is an uncomfortable horror edge that keeps you on your toes. However, too much hand-holding and not enough freedom prevent it from truly excelling. If the upcoming "autopsy-only" mode allows more freedom, then this will excel.

Although Autopsy Simulator starts off incredibly strong, offering solid investigatory narration and gameplay, part of the magic gets lost in the game's attempt to forcefully weave in a bland and uninspiring horror perspective that ultimately doesn't amount to much. Still, engaging voice work and excellent gameplay makeup for some of these short comings.

In the game's current state, I recommend it as an above average, albeit not groundbreaking, psychological horror title - but I can't recommend it as a simulator. Autopsy Simulator ironically isn't a simulator, but it's a pretty good psychological horror game that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Autopsy Simulator is a realistic exploration of the work of a pathologist, with horror elements thrown in. But, as gorgeously gruesome as its graphics are, it's seriously held back by the amount of hand-holding, robbing you of any real decision-making.

Autopsy Simulator offers a grim and immersive experience that blends realistic autopsy procedures with unsettling horror elements. The game’s detailed mechanics and chilling atmosphere make it a unique entry in the horror genre, though its graphic content and intense themes might not be for everyone. It’s a gripping experience for those with a strong stomach, but not for the faint-hearted.

I went into Autopsy Simulator with expectations and hopes for a game that confronted the messy realities of mortality and gave an insight into the neglected world of the mortuary. However, the game at present is so preoccupied with telling a hackneyed story that it is difficult to recommend. Hopefully the promised autopsy only mode will remedy this.
