Very less effort for Koei Tecmo to create a decent PC port. The game at start is a confusing heap of keyboard controls that'll take an hour or two getting used to, and that's only for those who have been playing console games on keyboard without yanking a rant. For those inexperienced in keyboard controls, Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom without a controller will be an immediate turnVery less effort for Koei Tecmo to create a decent PC port. For those inexperienced in keyboard controls, Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom without a controller will be an immediate turn off. Nevertheless, what makes the game still engaging for me is the gameplay thrill whenever using the 3d maneuver gear -- in spite of the game having an incomprehensible story.

Probably only a recommend for fans of the anime due to the story being rushed, as expected of video games based on overly hyped anime series

Don't get me wrong it definitely is a great Game, especially for the Fans of the Anime.
But it has some obvious "koei tecmo" problems - typical game for them.
Good : - Immersive Game - Great Fighting - Story and Multiplayer Bad : - typcial koei tecmo PC ports - only playable with controller - different scenes than in the anime, even "false" content, alot stuff was different

    - stretched content to pressure more gametime (repetetive sidemissions, scout missions are terrible done - you nearly need to kill like all Titans on the Map plus Bonus (green smoke) spawns to get S-Rating on missions - lame, typcial koei tecmo content - stretch out the Game to this point where it gets annoying
    - on every start up it asks if it should run in win 7 compatibilty mode when using win 8/10. Had no issues on win 10, works fine, no lags, stutters or anything like that. Smooth.

So its an mediocre hack and slash, strechted out Game. What else to expect from koei tecmo.
Wouldn't pay for it at full price, not even half. Glad it's DRM free so you can grab it from the net for free.

Disclaimer, I am a fan of the anime. This game was entertaining the first few hours, and then when you get the hang of it, the games gets old and boring really quick. I can actually summarize the combat here, get close to a titan, lock on, select nape, shoot and reel in, cut. Repeat repeat repeat, it might looks like you need some skills to kill those titans, but really, you don't. EndgameDisclaimer, I am a fan of the anime. Repeat repeat repeat, it might looks like you need some skills to kill those titans, but really, you don't. Endgame was way more boring, because the titans just got more hp and require you to grind those gears. If you don't grind it, you will need to cut those parts so many times its annoying. The game maybe licensed but the atmosphere is nothing like the original story. The helplessness of humanity, and the terror of titans, you just don't feel them. Actually, if anyone can kill titans so easily, the wall is actually not needed.

TLDR: Its not good, its not bad either. Wait for discount, it is not worth the full price, even for the series fans.

The game very accurately depicted the anime and nailed the speed and ferocity of slaying titans, although I do find the price point to be just a little bit too high for what the game actually gives you in content.

Attack on Titan takes a decent stab at the nape of the series' neck, but repetitiveness, a lack of difficulty, and a high price mean it misses the mark a little too much. Still: if all you want to do is be Mikasa, swing around, and chop down Titans, you'll probably rather enjoy it while complaining. I did.

Attack on Titan is a good game, but not a great one. It does a tremendous job of adapting the anime’s excellent action scenes to an exciting set of game mechanics, but struggles to extend that fun core into full-length game. Any given fifteen seconds of Attack on Titan is excellent, but those fifteen seconds are repeated again and again until they’re no longer compelling.
