Asylum is an indie game that offers a cinematographic experience. It will make you think about everything that happens throughout your passage through Hanwll. Beware that it is not a traditional game, so if you are looking for a classic horror story you may be disappointed. But it is something new that definitely deserves to be experienced.

There are definitely moments that feel like you’re playing a game that could have come out 10 or more years ago, but the point-and-click genre is one that can accommodate such design choices if the narrative is good enough. In the end, Asylum’s narrative is solid with some great atmosphere that makes it a point-and-click adventure worth checking out if you like games with horror elements.

The fifteen-year ordeal of Asylum's developers didn't end with a happy ending: while most of the game is praiseworthy, the final part is highly disappointing.

It’s nice to finally have ASYLUM in our hands after so long, but while it has the makings of an interesting story at its center, the vast size and emptiness of its namesake hospital overwhelm everything else about it, and it never gets a handle on how to balance narrative and gameplay or to deliver the horror it promises.
