Very mediocre. After thoroughly enjoying Assassin's Creed Odyssey, I figured that this would be similar and I would also love this. While the gameplay isn't bad, parts of the game are just boring. For example, the combat is extremely basic and there is absolutely nothing interesting about it.

There are plenty of side quests of wildly varying quality. Many are some of the most boring side quests I've ever done, but I've found some side quests which have very interesting stories and characters. I'm hesitant to do the side quests since I don't know if I'm in for another slog or an actually interesting experience.

I also have mixed feelings about the story. Without spoiling anything, all I can say is that you can find interesting stuff in the story, but it is definitely not a strong point. I found a lot of the story to be quite boring, only sporadically keeping my attention.

It might seem strange that I love Odyssey but am on the fence on Origins; but I genuinly believe that there is a huge improvement in Odyssey even though both games seem incredibly similar. Origins suffers from less interesting combat, story and characters, but is still not horrible.

Unbelievably bad performance even with all options turned to minimum on a PC that meets the Recommended specs. Looking for solutions, I found a bunch of people with even better hardware with the same complaint. Apparently 40-60FPS is the best you can hope for with this game.

First i gotta say im using the CPY version not the legitimate version, but mine has the DRM removed and the performance is awesome. Im running everything maxed out on 1080p 144hz stable on 60-72 fps. (i7 4790k & gtx 1070). CPU Load max 70%.

Still some Textures are slowly loading in and they mostly look blurred. The Quests are somewhat okay but i don't like them personally.

Microtransactions and ingame shop - im not gonna point out that this is pitiful.

Apart from the good graphics/performace & story, i usually get bored after like 1-2hours of playing. I mainly try to reveal the map and discover stuff/collectibles. So im not doing much Quests..

If i'd aim for the main story i would probably have more fun but the A.I is pretty bad and the missions are quite repetitive.

But like other reviews said : The Game is too massive, too large. - i do like games with good content like Witcher 3 (replayed 3x on 100%) but not if its uncreative and stretched.

In my opinion the game is worth like 20-30€. I do recommend using a trainer/unlocker for the ingame shop items though.

Beautiful graphics, scenery and detail. Ubi brought ancient Egypt to life, its utterly stunning. However, It's a little boring, gameplay wise, Singleplayer MMO style grindfest. You don't feel like an assassin. Older AC titles are build around a stealth kill system and penalised open warfare, this does the opposite, and the story isn't that gripping to begin with.

And every hour I understood that Origins is not a new product, and just one project of Ubisoft in which all mechanics of studio are used. Hunting and interaction with animals - Far Cry, Oryol drone from Watch Dogs, big empty and boring (in comparison with Skyrim and Wild Hunt) the world from Wildlands. Fighting mechanics - For Honor on the minimum requirements. A plot which had to tell about formation of an award? Why, if fans can push nonsense with set of historical persons. Let's give to formation of an award of 30 minutes of a game - same INGENIOUSLY. A game is a degradation of a series. The majority of mechanics or is simplified to a minimum, or in general is removed. The architecture is simplified to a limit. Games are caused by disappointment. Origins - a striking example of the fact that Ubisoft isn't able to release the worthy product looking as NEW any more. But a game has 1 advantage - it is a visual look. It is the best study of the area and a historical setting which I saw in video games. At Ubisoft one of the best designers and artists in the industry. It is a pity that only they also work in studio.
PS. The Russian postscoring - the worst that I listened to. From ears there is blood.

The main story is mediocre at best with a very small number of powerful moments. While the characters certainly are interesting, they go through relatively little development over the course of the story.

Other than that, it's... Assassin's Creed. You sneak around, you kill people, you climb towers, you collect things. The last two things are probably the game's biggest issue. It's just too much. The map is ridiculously big and is chock full of side-activities that are ultimately pointless. Sidequests are neat, but again, are nothing to write home about. Other than that it's your usual collectathon. Go to location, pick things up/kill specific enemies, rinse, repeat. It is beyond me how anyone could think that it is a good idea to develop the game like this. It's overwhelming and exhausting. The only way around this is to entirely focus on the main story which causes me to feel like I'm skipping over content I have paid for.

Really, it's a shame that more linear singleplayer experiences are going the way of the Dodo as far as multi-platform AAA developers are concerned. Most new AAA games are either multiplayer-only/focused or live services or open-world games or a mix of all of those - simply because it keeps people playing and allows for aggressive monetization using microtransactions. Maybe I should stick to indie and A or AA games.

Anyhow. It's not great and it's not bad. If you are on the market for a tedious, repetitive open-world game and you see it on sale for

But she tries to do it carefully, without any revolutions: leaving her best elements, and the worst ones replacing them with popular and actual mechanics. It seems that this approach works. I have been scolding Assassin's Creed for many years. The series did not develop gameplay and from year to year annoyed with the same elements. But there was always one thing that justifies the existence of Assassin's Creed, no matter what stagnation the franchise might be - the elaboration of the setting. The game could be a bad stealth, a bad slasher, a bad historical fanfic, but it was always an ideal way to study the era. The Great French Revolution, the Third Crusade, the Renaissance - every time line in the series was worked out in the most detail. Assassin's Creed immerses in the era, acquaints with its figures, demonstrates all the sights from all sides and gives, albeit with fantastic digressions, to participate in the most important of its events. It's one thing to flip through books and watch movies, the other is to be there. Assassin's Creed: Origins enchants with the scorching Egyptian sun, majestic pyramids and oases, lost deserts, animal world and everyday life of people from such a distant mysterious era. Mysterious, but in some way native. In Russia, the history of ancient Egypt has traditionally been given a lot of time in the school curriculum (I do not know why), so this whole topic with pharaohs and the secrets of the pyramids responds with nostalgic feelings. And this is after a superficial acquaintance: I still have to go around the whole of Egypt and get to know Cleopatra - my impressions will certainly be more than complete. But the world would be good not only to examine, but also to explore, right? Origins originally swung to the RPG-genre. His elements in the series were present before, but what they showed us and told the developers about the new part was like the Witcher at all. In fact, it is. Locations monstrously huge, but carefully worked out. With one caveat - kilometers between deserts and cliffs stretched between detailed sites. It seems I'm beginning to understand why the developers chose the ancient Egyptian setting ... In general, you feel the trick, but it looks logical, and therefore does not annoy. Especially "empty" kilometers can be quickly and conveniently overcome on horseback and camels. Here, by the way, they added a witch-like system of the autopilot: he indicated the point on the map, pressed the button, and the riding animal himself rushes you where necessary. It's terribly convenient, I must say, although you feel like a complete lazy person. But as far as the content content of all these beauties is concerned, there is nothing to complain about. There are very, very many sidelines: the map is literally full of question marks ("interesting places"). But how much are they really interesting? Find in the treasure zone, kill the dangerous beast, kill the captain - and the like. There are a lot of options how to spend time, but you will not find anything new. Perhaps this will change later, but I strongly doubt it. However, more than about the RPG-elements and Egypt, we were told only about the combat system. Developers finally realized that a boevka based on counterattacks alone (when an icon appears on the enemy!) Is a bad idea for 2017. So we decided to add, suddenly, a bit of gameplay. The new system is quite simple: we fix ourselves on the enemy, defend ourselves with a shield, inflict quick blows for the damage, strong ones - to break through the defense, we periodically accumulate adrenaline and go pie-ins. It works quite well: weak enemies can be called, and with those that are fatter, the fights are reminiscent of For Honor. And the dynamics, and the general feeling of the character and weapons. Together with the change of swords, the boulevard-halberd, the mechanic is also changing. Different weapons are not just skins, everyone has his own physics. Here the game of the same "The Witcher" even works. Claims so far two: not always transparent hitboxes and the need to open parry as a skill in the process of pumping - this in mechanics should be immediately. It seems that the path chosen by the developers for the revival of Assassin's Creed is working. It harmoniously combines the classic elements of the series, and new mechanics, bringing it closer to the big RPG. This is clearly seen in the example of a directly role-based system - everything, it would seem, is elementary: we grow in levels, get skill points, buy new skills. But the tree of skills is interestingly intertwined, its three directions are connected non-linearly, they are not separated from each other by a "wall" - it adds depth. Expand

Bad (mostly due to open world mechanic):

To be honest they killed the franchise arguably with the fifth game (AC 3), where they dropped / killed Desmond and the intriguing real time story line. Since that point Assassin's Creed is stagnating. Instead of going the Hitman route with accidental kills, poison or disguises ( a real stealth game), we get half-baked RPG garbage. With the exception of AC 4 Black Flag which was a great game in itself (sea faring / ship game), each new iteration gets worse.

    neutral:

    beautiful but empty open world

A far cry game with a different skin

A huge grind of experience and equipment to solve the main questline.

The female character and interpretative the writers of this game (like all activists in the gaming industry) do have an inferiority complex. Instead of properly building the game, they created a new real time story line with two lesbians that could improve the animus to seemingly perfection. I guess the biggest company and at the same time shadow world government couldn't handle the lesbian wamen developing power. The same applies to the animus Egypt story, where the female protagonist created a huge information and support network out of nowhere. Like Doctor Who, Star Trek or Star Wars the hijack fails miserably. But at the same time each and every time they try to make the lore their property. Like in this case the first "real" assassins and the "origin" of them.

Assassin's creed origins is an RPG. Now this is not an action adventure stealth game. ASSASSIN'S CREED ORIGINS decided to compete with The Witcher 3. The game does not even hide it. The developers also do not hide it. But I have one question: why? Assassin's creed was supposed to change in Uncharted 4. And then that would be great! Assassin's creed needs to compete with Naughty Dog, not CD Projekt RED. Assassin's creed needs to be an adventure and cinematic adventure like Uncharted 4, not overgrown and poteryavshie as textures RPG. But ASSASSIN'S CREED ORIGINS has all the elements of the genre. There is no variability of the plot and options dialogs, no consequences. The plot is linear. From an RPG we have a huge open world, combat system, lots of loot and crafting. it is a natural development of the series Assassin's creed, but I wish it was less, but more, prorabotano and cinematic.

The plot of the game is simple. And once again, we played as a character who's out for revenge. This is not a problem - he's got good reason for revenge. The story of the game consists of the gradual destruction of our goals, as it always has. Story missions interesting, made a very creative (Yes, that huge snake in the story missions). The story in ASSASSIN'S CREED ORIGINS very Mature. in it aremany drammatichnye moments. this is a very personal story. The protagonist himself Byek adult, wise, just, the protector of Egypt. this is not a frivolous guy, and see the life of a man. The plot has a few minus: 1) the Beginning of the game completely crumpled. If we were shown consecutively, as were all the carnage at the beginning would be better. 2) The End of history. At the end of the story the Bayek's wife - Aya. Yes, we also played, but to put an end to the story needs exactly the character that we control most of the game. 3) Poorly disclosed historical figures. The trailers gave the impression that we will long to spend time with Cleopatra and Caesar. But no. If Cleopatras we are a long time, Caesar just popped in for a few minutes. 3) Oren and the mysticism of ancient Egypt (I would like more mystery and hallucinations).

Additional tasks. Since this is an RPG, but a lot of them! Very much! It is good that these tasks are interesting. Not all, but most. There's no stupid "bring, bring". Each job has its own mini story. There are no dramatic level of The Witcher, but the writers have done well and some of them are memorable. although by the end of the game is a significant uniformity in the gameplay - every time you sneak into the enemy camp and to do something.

Changed combat system. She was vdohnovlaet Dark Souls and The Witcher, and the whole change came rather good than not. Now the combat system gives you a challenge. Now not easy to kill everyone by pressing a few buttons. In ASSASSIN'S CREED ORIGINS you have to plan every action. And each weapon has a different weight and the speed at which the impactors. But, for me, the combat system is not repaired until the end, it has quite a few flaws (especially the camera, which is becoming "Japanese").

The main thing in ASSASSIN'S CREED ORIGINS is Egypt. And recreated it perfectly! Let it rather monotonous (oases, similar to the city of palm trees and desert), but this is Egypt. Open world is very beautiful, the artists are great games its work. If textures are not quality, the scenery and draw distance is simply magnificent! Have a NPC has a daily routine that can help and assignments, and the simulation of life increased. The story of the characters, and those who give additional tasks can vstretil on the street. The developers have managed to fill in Egypt and it is not boring to travel.

ASSASSIN'S CREED ORIGINS is a good adventure. And a great tour of Egypt! Yes, the game was released early, she needs at least another half a year to be in development (the game has problems with animations, problems with the combat system, there are bugs). But for the game in an open world is a good result. It's not the best Assassin's creed since the story could have been done better, but this is a game that takes you in the world. I enjoyed studying all of Egypt, examined all the pyramids and performed all tasks. It is a good return after a year break. Assassin's creed has changed so much that if not the name, it can be difficult to determine what is Assassin's creed.

P.S.: PC version has performance issues. Not fatal, but need to fix. The graphics are not that great, the game was acting so unstable.

I have been playing this game on very high with absolutely no issues with lag and I have had it locked at 60fps the whole time. There is not many bugs at launch as many people say there are. There is some climbing ones where Bayek tends to get stuck and I experienced a menu bug when the menu broke. Nothing game breaking just inconvenient.
The story was rather enjoyable with the missions having nice pace with shocking twists in some. The whole time I was engaged and wanted to keep going.
The side quests are here with a whole load of them, but none seem like they are just there to exists and are boring. Each of them were different and varied and offered some exp rewards or loot.
The map is huge and hallucinating in the desert is fun. Exploration is more fun in this game than any of the previous in my opinion. Running through the dunes to come across a cave which turns into a tomb is great fun and adds to the overall experience.
Combat is souls like but greatly sped up with less skill required.
Loot is fun to receive but I found the deluxe pack ruined the early game as I never used any of the swords I picked up as the fang was too op.
For being in Egypt they managed to get a great amount of variety in the locations which vary from sand dunes, marsh lands, white deserts and green areas. There is never a boring moment when exploring.
There is plenty to do after the story such as the secret armour which needs the location needs to be discovered unlike older games and requires some effort to unlock even though I still rock Bayeks default outfit.
At the end of the day, I rate this a 10 as I believe it truly deserves it. The 2 years were worth it.

    P.S
The lootbox scenario is not bad as they are bought for 3k ingame money and not advertised or in your face at all.

The weapon rarities give incentive to exploration. WItcher 3-style side missions are also a welcome change. The combat in this game is the best in the series and more realistic. On hard difficulty, the AI is actually somewhat formidable and creates formidable challenges. Finally, in my opinion, the main character, Bayek challenges Ezio as one of the best assassins in the series. His inner drive for revenge and justice for Egypt makes his character deep and makes room for development over the course of the game.

This to me is the best overall AC game in the entire series.

The story (I wont spoil this) but it's pretty good, a few twists and turns to turn your mind around. The level requirements for the quests seem really high which brings me to the point of the grind.
I understand its okay for RPG games to have a grind, but this one feels much more greater than others.

The game doesn't have much replay value as is with other ubisoft games like Far Cry.

Yep, there are few bugs, but for me personally it is not a big issue. Somehow I manage to break even Naughty Dog games, there are issues in every single game. I play on a PC (i7 - 4770 @ 3.4 GHz) and the usage of my processor is between 40 and 50% when I play the game in High, without killing other processes. For now this is the best game which I can play casually, aka if I have one free hour, to jump inside, explore a bit, play 1-2 quests, go out, without feeling frustrated. With the same success when I have more time I go after the main quest. I don't know what is the issue with the micro transactions. When I play i get super cool weapons, skins and enough ability points to even forget all of the skills that I got with them. No need to pay anything to get something extra. If you pLay, you will get anything you need to be a master assassin and above. ACO is enjoyable. Expand

The game is actually enjoyable. The first AC game really since Black flag, the open world isn't the typical Ubisoft fare either they can only be commended for that. I wish they spent more time on cutscenes with side quests though like Witcher 3 and added more dialogue, but they wanted this massive open world so presumably had to water down a lot of them to fill it out. As a completionist who could not get through Syndicate or Unity's garbage im having quite a bit of fun with the side content outside of the constant guard camps.

The main quest isn't a let down either, i haven't even reached what i was most looking forward to with the Romans. There has been quite a few surprises and well written quests i cant wait to play more of it.

Man also the graphics are really impressive, dust storms, sandstorms, blood splatter effects, excellent lighting especially in and around water and exceptional view distance. It beats Witcher 3 in a lot of areas outside the texture quality which surprised me a lot. You can tell as well without that awful DRM the game would be quite well optimized because it uses all of my system outside of the CPU usage and subsequent drops which is a massive shame.

The inventory and loot system is the real disappointment, it is seriously **** outside of the legendary weapons. You loot an average Axe and from a rare chest get a good axe, and from papyrus puzzles which actually take time get a rare axe. Just lazy. Costumes too have been poor. I have been wearing the gold edition robes all game i want something cool its all likely a result of the in game microtransaction store so BOOOO. But i do LOVE the upgrading system, more RPG's that have leveled items need to use it.

So far it would get an 8.5 from me depending on how the main story plays it could go 0.5/1 either way.

Apart from that, ancient Egypt is really stunning and exploring this beautiful world is actually rewarding. Combat is the best in the series and leveling up, whatever the game, is always fun and addicting.

Collecting items became so much more enjoyable. The setting is mesmerizing. Finally, I feel that I got my money's worth when I bought this assassin's creed. I played only 6 hours so far, all 6 hours were in the first location of the game. Still, have two missions before it will 100% complete. Coming from Syndicate, I was expecting a significant change. As everyone knows, this AC took two years to make and that shows in the context of world design. Though the pure mechanics do not see any solidifying change. The 'life' of the game still feels like it a floating glitch within an otherwise excellent world. NPC's are dry, even though they have plenty to do and say. But does that damper the game play as a whole?

No. ACO is as fun, and to me much more fun, than previous AC titles for it masters the art of fluent and consistent achievement. Taking over camps, looting treasure and defeating enemies is a blast in splurges. Climbing to the top of a view point is exhilarating even though not every jump is how you intended. The story is MEH at best. Though I loved seeing historical characters come to life, even if it was a slapped on personality version of that character. Let us just say the story is NOT why I am still playing. It is the world, the vastness and immediate reward I get when exploring and clearing off the map.

Combat. Fun, and only fun, when you get used to the mechanics. I played with KB+M and it was fine after making some switches on the dodge action keys. HINT: Double tap to dodge is WAY better than wasting your space bar. Use that for climbing.

Overall, as always with AC, I'm having a blast and am waiting for the repetition effect to take hold. That is why I usually never finish these types of games. It is a kick to play and explore while fresh yet 20 hours in I'm like, "no thanks, did that about a hundred and one times already. For longevity, there MUST be a captivating story and lore. This is why I am still playing the Witcher 3 to this day.

Let me finish by saying that is one of the most gorgeous games I ever came across. And the fact that it is historically accurate makes me even happier. I will continue to read and explore regions as a role play in the zestiest of my ancestors regardless of action game play.

I really enjoyed the game. Graphics were beautiful. I'm only writing a review, because there was so much critiquing of performance I almost didn't buy the game. I found it to run smooth on my system at 50 FPS on very high. I highly doubt a lot of the bs DRM performance killing claims people have been making.

It's a witcher in ancient Egypt with remarkable attention to details and atmosphere. I did not expect such a great game from the Asssasins series. I am truly surprised. Yes there are a few bugs, for example in two locations I experienced problems with unnatural brightness in the caverns and once I got stuck, but apart from that everything runs fluent and without glitches. An amazing revival of the series, AC Origins gives a lot of content for your money. The world map is massive with a lot to explore. The combat is great and seems to be inspired by Dark Souls.

The first time being that the NPC I was following got stuck because a carriage was in front of him.
Both the NPC and the Carriage NPC just stopped.
Suddenly both of them went for another path, broking and destroying every physical objetic like fences there was. Meanwhile, the NPC was saying "Lets keep a low profile"
Dude, breaking all the fences in a 30m radius at 7km/h is not keeping a low profile

I just kept going... But the breaking point for me was that, at level 3, i was roaming around.
I found a hostage, and freed him. I will not talk about how the hostage was constantly speaking
BAYEK? IS THAT YOU? ... HEY, WHERE ARE YOU GOING, SAVE ME
While i was right in front of him fighting guards.

Them, sneaking into another house, looking for the other hostages, 2 immortal flamingos spawned inside. They just stood there, 2 immortal pink tall flamingos.

    Ok

Them, scanning for more hostages and killing who was on my sight with a bow, I saw 3 enemys just under me. I went for the kill.
One of them just started burning out of nowhere, and they all tried to flee. At no avail. They got stuck trying to climb the smallest wall i have ever seen.
I just kept attacking them while they failed to climb.

Suddenly, a interaction pops up after i killed them 3. CONFIRM KILL.
Thought that had something to do with the NPC dying on fire (?)

    No,
    It was the Pharao,
I was supposed to fight him,
I was level 3, i did nothing, nothing, i just killed a deer or something,
How did i end up killing the Pharao without noticing it?
And to top it off, the cutscene showed us fighting like it was really a BIG DEAL.
    Dude, it wasnt

This was just one example, this game is broken, not graphically (Also) but its core gameplay, level design, progression and everything i tried to do, just didnt worked.

    Im extremelly frustrated

The art and attention to detail is simply stunning. When I climbed over the dunes and witness the Great Pyramids for the first time will be one of those gaming moments I will never forget. Nor will I forget the first time I enter one of these structures and start exploring the tombs within. It's fitting that they added a camera to share these breathtaking views with fellow gamers. I have a windows folder filled with dozens of pictures that I set to my Windows background wallpaper.
The animation and combat is as fluid as ever and the RPG elements are a welcome add-on to the franchise. You can even level up your weapons with your character so that old weapons never become obsolete. There are about 7 classes of melee weapons and each has it's uses so you might want to hold onto at least one of each to switch back and forth during combat. Surprisingly, there are 4 classes of bows that have their own play styles and uses. My favorite was the sniping Predator bow, as I got a legendary version fairly early in the game. Because of this I played a more classic Assassin's Creed play style with stealth and take downs instead of straight up combat. You still can't slack in the combat department in your skill trees because close quarters combat is necessary in some missions and the main quest.
After 60 hours of game play I only encountered 2 crashes and a couple physics-based glitches. Otherwise the game is remarkably stable for such a massive open world game. Frame-rate gets weirdly low in cut scenes and facial animations are off but the few negatives are far outweighed by the overwhelming positives for this game.
Notice how nearly all of the negative reviews mention DRM. Salty kids upset that, so far, they can't pirate the game. Too bad people don't review actual gameplay anymore, it's all gamer politics.
Yes, I'm a real person not an Ubi plant as I have done dozens of reviews over the years.
There's places to go to see reviews of people who actually bought the game to get a real consensus.

The best Assassin's Creed game by a mile, and maybe the best Ubisoft game. The combat is exceptional. Think Witcher 3 with more weapons (though this is not on the level of that game, but few are). The world feels as alive as any world ever, up there with GTA V, Witcher 3, and The Last of Us. The revamped combat system paired with the totally new approach to the open world exploration make this title the biggest stand-out in the series since the original. A complete shift in focus from hollywood-style, low-interaction mechanics to grounded and highly mechanical interactions breathe fresh life into a dead series.

It's a shame they didn't try to extend this approach to their incredible yet boring climbing system, or the press-one-button-and-win stealth mechanics, or the now-non-existent ai crowds (which in this one are smaller and less interactive than any AC title ever. It's actually the largest disappointment with the game). Even in the midst of conflicting game design choices, the real standout of the game is the side-quests, which are incredibly rich and reminiscent of Witcher 3 in their depth. Lastly, this is probably the most photogenic game I've ever played. Every square of this game manages to visually impress.

At the end of the day, what stops this from being a ten is the fact that other decrepit systems in the game weren't reworked, and that encounter variety is lacking. They did a good job with making human enemy combatants diverse, but the animals fail to bring any diversity. Aligators should be scary ambushers, hippos should be terrifying stampeding beasts, and leopards should stalk players from trees. instead every animal behaves EXACTLY the same, repeating the most toxic and boring playstyle ever: spam unblockable attacks. There is one cookie cutter method of beating them and it applies to every animal in the game. I often just wished they were able to shake it up a little more. I loved that they added a DESPERATELY needed difficulty choice, I immediately went with hard and wasn't disappointed. AC games have consistently failed to make the player feel like an assassin because the player is given so much power. I desperately miss the chase sequences at the end of each assassination in AC1 where you had to run for life from the entire town.

For those complaining about DRM, I actually didn't notice it. I thought the game ran quite well as my 1070 was getting a solid 50 fps on max settings at 90% of 4k. It runs better than Witcher 3 for me and doesn't look any worse either. Perhaps having the game installed on an NVMe flash memory drive is what made the difference. I'm adding this game to a personal and growing list of fantastic games getting ripped to pieces for technicalities that don't really matter, although this is probably the best one on the list.

What I want to see from this franchise moving forward is taking the same approach they applied to combat, and apply it to stealth, climbing, and the ai crowds. Stealth should be more interactive, guards should be more aware of their surroundings, bases should have fewer avenues of entry, sound and light should matter. Up the number and complexity of decisions the player needs to make to be successful so that they actually feel rewarded when they perfect stealth that huge fort. Make climbing more grounded, AC already has all of the hard work done to facilitate the most incredible of any game, their node-based traversal system in inctricate and has amazing animations, but actually traversing it should be more interactive. There is an entire sport of rock climbing that they can borrow mehcanics from. implement a climbing system where moves have difficulty and the players have stamina and momentum. This adds another component for the player to master and can make climbing to sync points and running away form guards far more interesting. lastly the crowds should always have some kind of impact on the player. Make each ai slightly different. Maybe some would decide to aid you in a fight, maybe some would turn on you. Maybe some recognize you and rat you out. Maybe add a wanted level on the player or add events that make ai behave differently. Maybe There's some holiday where the crowds get bigger and pay less attention, or maybe something the player did scared all the ai crowds into hiding in their homes and streets are empty and quiet. You could add sooo much encounter variety by simply mixing up the context in which the encounters happen, and revamping the crowd system is an easy way to accomplish that.

Returning to its roots in more ways than one
Assassins Creed Origins takes place in Egypt around 49 BC, the time of Cleopatra and Julius Ceasar
You play as the last Medjay, Bayek and occassionaly as his wife Aya
Without spoiling the story, something happens that sends Bayek on a revenge quest.. a very personal one that makes Bayek feel real, and gives you a real connection with him…
Im going to get the bad out of the way first….
I found the story here to be the weakest in the series main line games…
As the name suggests.. Origins tells the story of how the Assassins Creed started…
But it sortve just goes.. okay.. the creed is a thing now.. heres an explanation of the symbol, bye…
It never feeks impactful or justified.,, it sort of just happens and left me disliking both of the games main characters
The story is more focused on Bayek and his revenge which is fine… it definitely pulled at my heart strings but the delivery of his story as well as the story of the creed felt so disjointed…
It has interesting characters from history such as Julius ceasar and Cleopatra…
But I feel these characters were never fully utilized in the way characters have been in past assassins creed games… theyre just there… which leaves this to be easily the most forgettable campaign
I feel this may mostly have to do with the game deciding to go the more RPG route.. where you cant just focus on the story as enemies 3 or more levels higher than you will just one hit kill you…
This had me going out and ignoring the story just to level up and clean the map…
And when I came back to play through the story it was over before I knew it
I put 40 hours into the game, not even touching half of its giant map and id be surprised if there was more than 6 to 8 hours of actual campaign content here..
Overall extrememly disappointed in the campaign, even though it has a powerful opening…
On a positive note with the campaign.. I loved that we got a peak into our targets minds after assassinating them.. reminding me more of the first game… and there is more of a Desmond Miles feel with the present day…
It sortve just feels there..not as intrusive as the desmond saga but I feel the potential for something here in the future and it’s a step in the right direction..
Now that most of my ranting is done..
    Gameplay and experience wise..
Assassins Creed Origins is one of the best games in the entire Assassins Creed series…
Egypt is huge, again there is nearly half of this game ive yet to even uncover…
But uncovering it all is what makes assassins creed origins so great..
It finally feels addictive again to discover, no longer is the setting just a background.. it’s a character for the first time since Assassins Creed 3
There is an ungodly amount of detail in this world… easily the best open world of the year, so much care and attention to detail..
Every inch of this game feels hand crafted rather than thrown into some algorithm
The world is full of question marks in a way that doesn’t feel overwhelming..
There are sidquests with real stories attached to them such as helping a suicidal widow get over her grief..
The characters in the world feel real.. the world feels alive, it goes on with or without you..
There are tombs and bandit camps for you to raid and captains to kill for weapons, there are the sync points for fast traveling.. there are animal dens, clues for treasure hunts, sunken ships to plunder..
And you have an egal companion named senu that can take to the sky and mark points of interest to lessen the frustration of searching for an areas treasure to earn that xp bonus for clearing an area
You can also fight in arenas or chariot race…
There is so much to do here in this gorgeous world…
Uncovering new locations will award you with xp so you can level up and use higher weapons and dump skill points into bayek,,
There is a skill tree that focuses on close combat, ranged combat, and tootls such as smoke bombs and being able to tame animals…
Assassins Creed Origins is so close to perfection..
I haven’t had this much fun exploring an open world in a long time…
of calling my horse or camel and setting off to uncover the next question mark and the secrets this world hides..
im excited to go back in.
But the poor campaign hurts my overall opinion of this game, as do the few annoyances I have with its climbing feeling unresponsive compared to syndicate and unity.. and not being able to interact with items until you get out of conflict when enemies are dozens of yards away… which is the biggest one…
Let enemies ineterupt me… stop locking me out of actions…
But this open world is the best open world since the witcher 3…
Assassins Creed is back to being an addictive map cleaner full of wonder.
    I give Assassins Creed Origins
    a 9/10

The best thing about this game is the stunningly beautiful world the developers have created, probably my favourite open world I've ever played. Everything in this world feels like it was crafted with immense love for detail and history. Exploring tombs or just random ruins is really fun thanks to the amount of detail they've put in.

The story in the game is not the best, but it makes you care about the characters and you can understand why they do what they do. It's a decent story overall, it just felt a bit short. If it had more buildup and a bigger ending, I think it would have helped it become better.

One thing that is new with this game is the combat. In the beginning, it felt quite dull and I didn't really enjoy it, but after playing a few hours and testing different weapons I came to enjoy it. Not the best combat I've ever experienced but a lot of fun nonetheless. It also gives just tons of approaches and options to each quest, which made the side quest more diverse. Side questing, however, was mostly the same thing over and over.

I think this game deserves at least and 8, but I'm going for a 9 because I loved the open world so much.

It's an improvement in the series since they spent 2 years in the makings. Game mechanics are fun ( weapons and such). Still a lackluster experience overall, open world is filled with similar activities that you can grind if you want. Main quest line wasn't all that enthralling to me. Wouldn't recommend it at full price.

Now, this is 100% my opinion you can hate me just like you hate microtransactions whatever I don't care. Now for those who like the combat and actually like the combat of the game here is my review. So number 1 the story. The story is pretty short and left me a little disappointed but I was still a little satisfied near the end it felt a little rushed and kinda ruins the immersion but they have tons and tons of side quest that just get you into the game however, there is a decent amount of escort/follow missions which can make the game boring and repetitive but overall there is a lot of side missions thats all about the action and can even chain into 4 more side quest. The world is huge and I really love just walking around the map because the game is just so beautiful and really captured the time era with the art on the walls just so amazing. Now the character you play Bayek is one of my favorite assassins creed characters, unlike a lot of assassins creed characters this guy has a sense of f**king humor a lot of assassins creed characters are just stale and boring and you wonder if they are even human the voice actor did an amazing job as the character and really captured the emotions of the scene. The combat man oh man the combat some people like it some people hate it, in my opinion this new combat is more challenging for the player and I love it, a lot of assassins creed games were braindead with the combat and took no focus at all. If you play this game put it on hard because even though it takes more thought when you use the new combat it's still super easy because they take so much damage on easy and normal but if you slap this baby on hard mode man the combat just gets even better, a con to the combat is that the parry timing is pretty off, and can get super frusterating some say that there is no stealth combat but there is you just really gotta use your brain more if you wanna kill everyone in the fort without being detected. Overall assassins creed origins is a good game way better than a lot of assassins creed games like all assassins creed still can be a little buggy and some bugs can even frustrate me sometimes and I'm like "IM GOING TO RATE YOU ON METACRITC A 1/10 TO MANY BUGS **** YOU BOOBIESOFT." but I stayed true to this review and gave my 100% legit review. thanks for reading all of this if you did umm plz be nice to me bro I just play video games if I offended you in any way I'm sorry man but this is just my honest review I hope you have a good one and I made this on Thanksgiving so if its thanksgiving for you then happy thanksgiving lul.

The combat is challenging and thoughtful, and while the loot system doesn’t match up to games like Destiny 2, there are enough different weapon types and enough enemy variety to keep you swapping between weapons, catered to the situation. The RPG elements encourage challenges of their own, and even despite a handful of bugs, I desperately wanted to keep playing

This game has a huge world with a kickass theme (Egypt rocks !!),the best AC protagonist after Ezio (never liked Edward :P) , meaning side quests and activities (if you have played Witcher 3,you will understand where the inspiration is coming from) and a combat system where you don't have to wait for enemies to attack you one by one....

But honestly i would call this game an action adventure game with SLIGHT rpg elements ,not a complete rpg game as marketed coz you dont get to make any choices or choose dialogues from a dialogue tree as seen in a traditional RPG game.

After AC:Ezio trilogy, this has become my fav AC game

Assassin’s Creed Origins improves from its past few installments in almost every way, yet it never quite reaches the heights of the games it tries to emulate. Its combat isn’t Dark Souls level. Its quests aren’t The Witcher 3 level. Its open world isn’t…well honestly, this might actually be one of the most impressive virtual spaces I’ve ever seen, so credit where it’s due there. I do have to imagine that if you ever have loved a game in the Assassin’s Creed series that you’ll enjoy what Origins does here, but also if you don’t have 60+ hours to sink into a game as absolutely massive as this one, I don’t blame you either. But I enjoyed my time with it, more so than I was even expecting, having thought I had burned out on this franchise for good. Expand

Theres plenty of new features and the gameplay does feel like its completely changes compared to the other AC games which is cool because it feels new and fresh. It still does have certain elements that have the AC feel, but it almost feels like a completely new IP. Like I said earlier the graphics are amazing, the atention to detail and draw distances on such a large map are absolutely amazing in this game. Really love all of the different loot and weapons adn such you can get and the expanded skill tree in this gme is really cool, def makes the game feel a lot more RPG than just an action game. I really can't understand how people rate a game that has more than 50 hours gameplay a negative review with just 30min in game or as soon as they see a bug!!!
    Come on guys!
*I will write my review for this after I've played it completely, but for now everything looks awesome* Ok, as people like to know about the game, I'm listing some of my opinion after about 5hrs gameplay: +

Ok, as people like to know about the game, I'm listing some of my opinion after about 5hrs gameplay:

+ Start of the game and story is strong
+ Bayek, His act and voice is superb
+ Egypt, it's recreation and graphics are awesome and with it runs perfect on my 3770k, 980, 16gb ram so well
+ Music and ambient sounds are perfect
+ The redesigned fighting system fits so well and I like it (It's more personal maybe)
+ So many other gameplay options like: changing the time and people behavior about the time, their routine life, one key for parkor system and it's fluid animations, ...

    - Lack of sprint for horse, camel
    - No option for how much time you want to pass
    - AI and enemy behavior could be much better!

What a magnificent installment of the Assassins Creed franchise! This game takes you to Egypt in the era of 50BC to go tomb raiding, bandit/hyena/roman hunting, camel riding, temple climbing, star gazing, wreck diving... you name it.

Technical stuff: The graphics are just gorgeous, the music score is epic, animations are fluid (as expected in this series), and it's mostly bug free

    Technical stuff:
The graphics are just gorgeous, the music score is epic, animations are fluid (as expected in this series), and it's mostly bug free (which sadly isn't the norm today).

    Changes:
The gameplay has seen a couple of changes since the last AC. What I personally like most is that the mini map is gone. This makes the game much more immersive for me, as you don't constantly look in the bottom right corner to check where the next question mark is. Really great change. To make up for the loss of the mini map you have a little falcon that can get you a birds eye view of an area before you go in. The combat system has also been revamped and is more Dark Souls like, which makes combat more challenging. The old just block and counter style is no longer feasible.

    Cons:
There isn't much that I could improve in this game, even if I wanted to. I would get rid of the present part, which doesn't add that much to the game, but I never understood, why they didn't scrap these parts. Also the in-game shop is unnecessary, but at least it's subtle and stays in the background.

Verdict: 9/10. Great game and the new gold standard for Assassins Creed games in the future.

+Didnt realize my GPU would be capable to run the game on Ultra on 1080p. Game runs stable on 40-65FPS on Ultra with minor FPS drops here and there (which I can ignore)
+The exploration and hunting aspects are really good.
+Level up system to be able to get into some missions. At least the Side Missions aren't too much of a drag
+Music, Ambient as well as in-game
    +Auto-nav system of Animals XD

-Keyboard layout. Worked about 15 mins to assign different keys to everything, now the game feels more like a game to me. Finally able to get a standard layout that isnt wonky or jarring. (thanks to everyone who suggested)
-Character models in Cutscenes look a bit plastic like
    -Texture Pop-ins
-Combat Lock-on system is really a big issue. While I am locked onto others, I dont sometimes end up getting to see who is ambushing me from behind.

I was afraid to play too much but I decided to dive in, give this a chance. And I would happily accept I was wrong. The game definitely grew on me, for which I feel glad.

As of now the I havent experienced the story too far to comment on that. Will edit this later.

This killer holiday in Egypt is definitely no boring. On the contrary, it is a pleasant excursion to the times, when the sphinx had a nose, and mysterious killers did not call themselves assassins. You cannot find a nicer version of an Ancient Egypt in any other game, and up to it it’s entertaining. A modest family story affects the whole empire at the end, and you will forgive a handful of bugs to its charismatic heroes, as well as the fact, that you have played the same pattern so many times, just in another scenery.

Ubisoft Montreal managed to make Egypt not only beautiful, but extremely atmospheric. When you’re admiring the city and a mounted patrol rushes past you, you always get that urge to step aside to avoid getting trampled, even though you know you can eviscerate them all in a blink of an eye.
