Artis Impact’s blend of pixel graphics and comic book-style cutscenes feels fresh and original, and the main character is quite appealing. While the humor can occasionally feel overdone and the combat a bit repetitive, the overall experience still has its charm.

Created single-handedly over eight years by developer MAS, Artis Impact is a unique indie RPG that feels more like an interactive anime than a conventional game. Its mysterious world, eccentric heroine, and offbeat humor make for a distinctive experience full of secrets and style. The turn-based combat system offers freedom but lacks balance, and RPG elements feel underdeveloped. Still, the game’s individuality, atmosphere, and sheer creative vision make it a hidden gem for indie enthusiasts.

All in all, Artis Impact is a fascinating work of art from a solo developer. I just wish the combat was more balanced and the English translation were better.

Touting a unique brand of offbeat humour and some absolutely beautiful pixel art, Artis Impact is a labour of love that mostly hits the mark. While its combat system lacks depth and it could use a stronger core narrative, it presents a gorgeous world filled with charming character moments that surprise and delight. Despite a few rough edges, this is a bite-sized RPG full of heart.

A bitesize RPG with some incredibly gorgeous pixel art, Artis Impact has a quirkiness and charm that will either win you over, or frustrate you beyond belief, but it’s odd systems and largely unrealised combat system will exasperate regardless.

As it stands, Artis Impact is an audiovisual masterpiece that fails to convey a cohesive narrative or engage the player beyond its spectacular presentation.
