It's definitely a nice fighting game that despite some hatred I see around it's highly enjoyed and followed by some gamers (fighting game with anime characters and tons of fanservice...not my cup of tea but hey everyone has their tastes!)

The game has a various roster of character that despite you have to pay for unlocking they will let you train with them in order to see how they play, which is something very remarkable (and they aren't all that expensive either and can be unlocked with ingame currency, except skins). In addition each character is kinda unique in both their fighting and their apperance and all in all I like the variety of the roster very much, so thumbs up for that.
Arenas aren't all that many at the moment but they are contained (people can't hide or do many surprise attacks), which is a good thing..
My gripe however is mainly one issue...kinda two, with one being the unbalance issue, but it's still in alpha apparently so I'll let it slip, especially since a lot of changes were made since I started playing.
Anyway, what I cannot stand, is the insane staggering whenever you get hit once: that basically means that, no matter how hard you try, you are destined to die because 1) you can't use your skill 2) your hope is to parry, which can and can't work at times 3) slow characters require a lot more of precision and timing to land their attacks, and a miss results in getting hit and eventually staggered until they either miss, or go away.
I honestly got angry a lot of times not because of the unbalanced characters or the whatsoever, but the fact that, if you get hit once, you can easily die from an insane stunlock chain that can't be escape if you happen to play against an ultra expert player that won't let you even touch the ground.
As far I know, there's no sort of recovery in mid air or dodge (technically each character have their own sprint ability, which can be a teleport, dodge, sprint or short invisiblity, but it can be stopped so it's not a recovery) and basically it ends up being a timing fight more than an actual beat em up; sure a lot of fighting games are like that but, considering some characters are faster and some are even ranged, it can be a ruination for you if you step in a wrong direction.
But it's still pretty nice to play it now and then and, like I said, it's stil in alpha and we can expect some more balancing and changes (I'd love a campaign or a sort of story mode: the roster is really its strongest point and more backstories for them would really make it so more enjoyable).
Give it a look and try it out, considering you also have the possibility to buy 2 characters from the start (something that not many MOBAs do it): it's very open and not too restrictive, but still requires some tuning.… Expand
