It's definitely a nice fighting game that despite some hatred I see around it's highly enjoyed and followed by some gamers (fighting game with anime characters and tons of fanservice...not my cup of tea but hey everyone has their tastes!)

The game has a various roster of character that despite you have to pay for unlocking they will let you train with them in order to see how they play, which is something very remarkable (and they aren't all that expensive either and can be unlocked with ingame currency, except skins). In addition each character is kinda unique in both their fighting and their apperance and all in all I like the variety of the roster very much, so thumbs up for that.
Arenas aren't all that many at the moment but they are contained (people can't hide or do many surprise attacks), which is a good thing..

My gripe however is mainly one issue...kinda two, with one being the unbalance issue, but it's still in alpha apparently so I'll let it slip, especially since a lot of changes were made since I started playing.
Anyway, what I cannot stand, is the insane staggering whenever you get hit once: that basically means that, no matter how hard you try, you are destined to die because 1) you can't use your skill 2) your hope is to parry, which can and can't work at times 3) slow characters require a lot more of precision and timing to land their attacks, and a miss results in getting hit and eventually staggered until they either miss, or go away.

I honestly got angry a lot of times not because of the unbalanced characters or the whatsoever, but the fact that, if you get hit once, you can easily die from an insane stunlock chain that can't be escape if you happen to play against an ultra expert player that won't let you even touch the ground.
As far I know, there's no sort of recovery in mid air or dodge (technically each character have their own sprint ability, which can be a teleport, dodge, sprint or short invisiblity, but it can be stopped so it's not a recovery) and basically it ends up being a timing fight more than an actual beat em up; sure a lot of fighting games are like that but, considering some characters are faster and some are even ranged, it can be a ruination for you if you step in a wrong direction.

But it's still pretty nice to play it now and then and, like I said, it's stil in alpha and we can expect some more balancing and changes (I'd love a campaign or a sort of story mode: the roster is really its strongest point and more backstories for them would really make it so more enjoyable).

Give it a look and try it out, considering you also have the possibility to buy 2 characters from the start (something that not many MOBAs do it): it's very open and not too restrictive, but still requires some tuning.

The game is fun, and it's free to play (now not even more p2w, although almost dead).
What this game really misses is balance:
most special skills intended for team-play should have had huge drawbacks, right now there are just mild to almost no "real" drawbacks. Latest official character tiers go from S to C but because of what I said before, sometimes the rank difference is caused only

Latest official character tiers go from S to C but because of what I said before, sometimes the rank difference is caused only by the OPness of skills intended for support. Finally don't play Sewon unless you really like street fighter like characters (but with just 2 moves) like me, because you will end up using your only AoE skill for 90% of the time, instead of old school punching...
Ah, because of the clear OPness of certain characters it's quite often to see that half of the room picked the same char and ofc this kills game longevity.

Gameplay aside, graphics are medium-to-low, the only really good music theme is the title screen one and since the game is now "discontinued" there's no more support nor official servers (still there are a lot of non-official good servers)
As other people pointed out, to play a character you have to "buy" it on the store and with the starting coins you can only buy 2 characters, this is wrong for many reasons...

To recap, my rating for this game probably should have been 5, but I'm giving +1 because it's indie and free-to-play.

    A really good game.
    Really funny.
I love to play this game, well it's pretty empty right now, But It have really good mechanics.
If you have some skill you can do loads of things.

I still play this game, I recommend this, but... It's not exactly the best game.
But it's a really good game for a FTP.

The mechanics of the game is great and the variety of the characters is wonderful but there was too many glitches going on in the game. I wish there was also a campaign single player to complement the game as there is now an end to development and support from the creators. The game can seem to run slow even with a high end device. Archeblade feels fresh and interesting at first but it soon degrades into a crazy melee of characters jumping around and attacking as clunky animations prevent the game from really capturing what is so unique about it. Overall it’s hard to recommend a game that feels so lacking, both in terms of quantity and quality.
