Arcadia Fallen feels like something of an experiment. It tests the limits of how much freedom you can allow a player, in terms of responses, while still making things feel like you’re making a difference. The result is that the more frequent responses don’t offer the impression of carrying much weight. Meanwhile, the choices that do matter almost break the immersion a bit by how much they stand out. Still, the character designs are good, your allies stand out, and the effort that went into the game is obvious. It’s the sort of game that people who enjoy should give a try.

There’s an audience that will be very appreciative of what Arcadia Fallen achieves. It gives players a pleasing opportunity to play themselves as they see it in another world and characters that welcome them for who they are. The game won’t be for those who like to be involved in their character’s actions, but for those wanting a relaxing visual novel, it certainly fits the bill.

I really wanted this to do well but unfortunately another one bites the dust. With it mobile game like graphics and sound, this is definitelyI really wanted this to do well but unfortunately another one bites the dust. With it mobile game like graphics and sound, this is definitely a bargain bin contender. The gameplay is monotonous and it doesn't feel like your choices have any lasting meaning or consequence. The writing is very poorly done and won't keep you interested for long. The game also focuses a lot on modern politics which is sad as it could have been a really good title if the devs just put core gameplay and story at the front instead of social politics. Hope they make a sequel and improve on this. Full Review »
