I think gamers have become spoiled and do not give new IPS a chance which is why we get so many re runs. Been playing since the 14th. Graphics are great. Are there bugs yes mainly with the loading of missions and the clunky ways to get the missions. But flying your Killer Robot and laying waste to the enemy either solo or group is hard to match. The flight controls are wicked fun. II think gamers have become spoiled and do not give new IPS a chance which is why we get so many re runs. Been playing since the 14th. Graphics are great. The flight controls are wicked fun. I mean it is a new IP and there are issues. But it has a solid base and I have a feeling I will be playing this for a while. People want everything all at once but then what is left if you get everything you desire at the start? There is much potential and I am having fun. Gaming after all is entertainment. not whining about what you want. If you want something that bad make something better. I like it. The insane amount of customization options is crazy fun and my Ranger looks AMAZING. As an older gamer I have learned not to be too picky. Or I might just miss something amazing right in front of me. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I heard the story EA & Bioware Exposed By Kotaku On Anthem, my heart goes out to the common employees who worked on Anthem, the stress that upper management of Bioware and Ea caused!

I would have rated this a lower score, but flying around covers a lot more area than if you are just walking or running on a map. The game-play of Anthem is sort of based on Iron Man flight power. If you are looking single-player game where you join action random people while playing the game this would be a good game to get especially since you can buy this game for $5.00. This is not co-op friendly game; gameplay is co-op but the other part is you have to go to Fort Tarsis to get a mission and advance your character abilities and that is only in a single player. I did try to play it co-op with my friends but when we were playing Finding Old Friends mission it would crash each time. After I did some investigating, my friends didn’t talk to the right people in Fort Tarsis because of that, their game character abilities didn’t advance correctly. This was the last straw for them, even though they thought this is the best EA co-op adventure game they still thought it pathetic because other gaming companies get their co-op adventure games correct. That being said, Ea should have delayed the game 3 years to get all the bugs worked out of the game.

The Pros. The graphics in Anthem is amazing. Games coming out now the graphics look better, but back in 2019, I thought graphics is the best I have seen in a game like this. They nailed the feeling of flying a Javelin and each one feels very unique. The game is stable as long you play it alone or playing with a random player in the game. Playing in co-op mode with friends doesn’t work because of the single-player-only mode in Fort Tarsis.

Negatives about the game. To start with, the game is in the third person, I wish it had a first-person option. In Fort Tarsis town you can explore it by yourself only, every other co-op game except for a few you can be in the same town as your friends. The jungle gameplay experience is cool, but almost every mission is jungle the gameplay gets boring really quick, it does have some cave missions but it's part of the jungle mission. It would have been cool to have missions on different themes like one in caves, volcano, structures in the middle of a lake, a large alien city floating in the middle of the ocean, swamp, desert, winter area, mountain area, Mission lasting too short in-game some only lasting 12 minutes, it should be more like 50 minutes. It has no cross-play. Once you played a mission you should have the option to select that campaign mission and chapter in that mission. Strongholds are cool, there are 4 Strongholds each of them does look unique in the game but they only last 25 minutes each. No real need for Strongholds because mission replay should be enough.

Final thought. Even though I don’t play it that often anymore when I do, I still see random people joining my game most of the time. if you are looking at the E3 2017 video of Anthem then you will be disappointed, because the game doesn’t look like this. I do think their way too much hate out there for this game, constructive criticism is way more helpful. If you want a single-player game with some multiplayer then that is what Mass Effect is for. After Anthem was out only a short time after release, I heard it made over 100 million dollars and it was the second-best-selling game for Bioware. It was on Xbox Gameplay Chart for some time, which told me that a lot of people liked the game. I think what killed the reboot was all hate out there and they did that to satisfy them. Congratulation because of that, I heard that the new Dragon Age game will no longer have co-op in it.

It's one of the few games that I've had fun playing multi-player, and generally I'm into Bioware for their single player experiences. I like the NPCs and the investment Bioware made to capture the actors' facial expressions looks really, really great! Every time I visit Fort Tharsis, I notice new stuff or new NPCs and conversations. I've been taking my time to explore the environments and looking studying the detail put into the models of the local species. With all of the events planned over the rest of the year, I'm looking forward to what's next and I haven't even gotten to the end game yet. I understand why some people are disappointed especially if the game runs poorly for them, but I'm having a blast. I want Bioware and Anthem to do well and I believe that it will only get better from here. I would love to see them expand the biomes and roll out more, richer story arcs. Expand

Most of the hate is coming from people expecting the game to be a failure and will not allow anytime for the game to adjust. For example, the time from VIP demo (beta) and public demo (beta) many great improvements were done. Within first week of VIP release hot fixes and patches to address issues and concerns has already been performed (Quest requirement changes and the loading screen times have been reduced).

Any game that is online will have bugs and broken aspects (Black Ops had the gliding glitch that allows players to jump and glide to get speed faster), Grand theft auto 5 has hackers in multiplayer that destroyed economy, and many many more examples.

The major thing that is different is the expectation for the game is to fail and thus people already write it off. Give the game a chance to actually release to the public before people write it off... let the game play for a month or two before its declared dead)

I love games where I have to invest time and in turn makes me feel someone who is becoming more and more powerful. Anthem makes a good job at this and this and that is important in every game. Having the feeling of becoming someone
more powerful keeps people hooked. The feeling of becoming Iron Man and become more and more stronger is the reason I love the game. The game is grindy but I dont think that is unexpected. The game is a looters shooter and thats how
you loot, by grinding and grinding to get better loot. In conclusion, If you are thinking of playing Anthem to be amazed, and be stunned by a great experience of a single player campaign, dont buy the game becuase this is not for you.
If you are someone who only cares about the end game and crushing the end game boss, well welcome. I'd be happy to play with you.

For those complaining about paying $60 to have 30+ hours ($2/hour) of entertaining game play I highly suggest they reevaluate what they consider to be worth while. I don't know, but I have hardly any issues with the PC version as compared to the Xbox version. I've rolled this with my crew on Xbox, and ran into tons of server issues, game glitches, and several other issues. But all in all, the PC version has been a fun experience. AS for the game, the scenery is awesome, the story is interesting. The voice acting is pretty good, but I have heard worse. Not everyone has the power of Commander Shepherd, or Marcus Fenix. When you start to level up, you need to increase your threat level. After a certain point, Hard, is not really that hard at all. So you need to take it up a notch. That would be my only complaint. If you are playing this on normal, your're a newb, or don't like a challenge. Other than that, it's a really fun game to explore with your friends. I have my Setting at Ultra, with a solid 62fps. Running a GTX1060 6gig Over Clocked, and AMD Ryzen7 8 core 3.2. Currently only 16gigs of DDR4 3200, and a 1tb SSD. Very pleased with the game, and having fun. Oh, just a point of interest, you don't need to make micro-transactions. They are there if you would like, but I didn't do that. I just hold on to my money until I have what I want to get what I want. Nobody is putting a gun to your head to buy something. And if you are too impatient to wait, that sounds like another issue for your psychiatrist. I personally will not spend money on the transactions if I can just earn it. To complain about the micro-transactions is just childish. You do not have to pay to play, cause it isn't like those items make you stronger. Go earn some coin running contracts down. As a team with friends is the best way to earn tons of extra coin. I was only part of the way through the story when I bought a bunch of items for my Javelin. Also, just join Origin Access Premier, and pay that little monthly fee, and get the Legion of Dawn edition with the subscription. So you pay, like $12, for a month. If you don't like the game, all of the other Origin games are there for you. Or if you don't like any of it, cancel the subscription, and you lost only the $12. Didn't pay full price for the game, and then you can complain about that as well. But seriously, the game is fun, and I just shared a way for you to get access to the Legion of Dawn Edition, for less than the price of the full game. And an easy way to get out of it if you don't like it. Boom goes the dynamite. People are making life to be way more difficult than it really is. I hope this helps at least some of you. And to the people saying it is nothing new, well, is anything anymore? I have been playing video games since years before a lot of you were born. I have been through the, been there done that, years and years now. Absolutely nothing coming out is new. Except the graphics. They keep on getting better. You look for a game that is fun to play. Period. Nothing is new anymore. I think a lot of you are crying over the fact there is no PVP. Well, that is a good thing. The game was designed to teach you to help each other, and watch your teams backs. It is about friendship and redemption. I actually though the story was decent, but I oh well. To each their own. The AAA industry has to change, Editors need to listen to their developers, and developers need to listen to their communities so they cannot afford to release a 90% finished game.
BUT we cannot afford as gamers, especially in the west, to act like resentful, spoiled children or the giants of the industry will look up for more lenient communities( like on the chinese market, cf Activision-Blizzard).

I looked, probably, all the available reviews on Youtube, read all the possible reviews, even played in the demo version, but still could not make a definite conclusion for myself. Now, as you can see, the conclusion is still made - I bought the game and without hiding, I can honestly say: I liked it! No, I didn’t just like it, I'm delighted! I do not agree with any statement about the fact that the game is not so built up dialogues and players are bored to walk and talk with NPCs that do not give you any third-party tasks.Instead of bombing about this, I walked around the fort of Tarsis and studied, looked, admired, listened to the dialogues that reveal to us the ENT of this game. I delivered it! No, I am not a fan of Bioware, and in Mass effect I played only the first part. The game itself is, of course, not only the stories of "local residents", but also a shooter in the open world. Let's get to the point. I was not knocked out any task in this game. Do you know why? Because I did not have high expectations from the game. A few years ago I was waiting for the Division. And that she disappointed me, upset me, I played it on the strength of 10 hours put the disc on the shelf and since then he has been there. I don’t want to write now about what everyone already knows about - costumes, javelins, abilities - this is sucked up in every video, in every article. Everything has been studied and duplicated, personally I have no desire. In the end, I can only say that this grindil game in the open world, which I liked, is the essence, the concept, the open world itself, I want to dive all over again and again. I myself have not encountered optimization problems, although the computer is not with top-end hardware. Once I lost the sound, there were a couple of delays, but then you can sin on my Internet connection sometimes gives tricks. What saddens a lot of players is poor optimization, again, which I have not encountered. Maybe I was lucky, I do not know. Secondly, in my opinion in this game there must be some kind of PVP component. In my opinion, this would add to the game rating as a minimum. That is, in the end, to achieve the maximum level, players could not only farm strongest, but also entertain themselves with battles against each other. There is no information that this will be, but as for me the idea is very personal. In the end - my score is 10 out of 10, in a sign that the game is now undeservedly heytyat and merged due to the fact that it can be and will be finalized, corrected, finished. Real sensations on 9 out of 10. Thank you! Expand

Classic bad guy wants to gain ultimate power and we have to stop him kind of thing least for now since this is going to be an ever growing story. You will need to keep in mind that this is not a single player RPG while playing this though so dont expect your actions to have an impact on this since its a shared world between all players. Dont listen to the people complaining about the tombs mission as bioware made it so that everything required for the mission is tracked from level 3 and onward. They have listened to our feedback from the early access and have implemented a fair bit of it that they could in a short time. Some of the other things we have requested and reported as an issue will take a longer time to fix. If the game had been gold plated and came delivered by a unicorn riding upon a cloud of goodwill certain segments of the gaming community would have hated it no matter what. However looking beyond all this nonsense I watched actual game play and developer streams, Q&A and made up my own mind rather than let some click bait nonsense on YouTube try and convince me EA was the devil or Bioware suck cos they should have done another Mass Effect instead of Anthem. Overwhelmingly the 0 reviews are clearly written by those who have only dipped into the demo or who haven't played the game at all, social media is hilarious with its "commentators" telling me I shouldn't play the game or buy it because they haven't and wont because its and "EA" title but then proceed to right lengthy reviews on how bad it is form a stand point of, well absolutely no experience of it whatsoever. In contrast to those negative reviews I am thoroughly enjoying the world of Anthem as am all the friends I am playing with. The game plays beautifully on PS4, I've had no issues whatsover and the gameplay is exciting, creative and most of all fun. Storylines are well crafted and engaging and there is so much to do in the world it is incredible. Anthem is one of the most beautiful looking games I have played and the four different Javelins make for a different experience in gameplay and style depending on which you decide to play. The inclusion of seamless flight extends the combat and exploration in new and exciting ways and blasting off from Fort Tarsis to explore what lies ahead is a real thrill. So I am sorry that so many of you seem to be playing a completely different game to me and many of those who I see writing about their positive experiences with the game. My tip, go buy a copy and take it out of the box and actually play it, you might just find you like it. As for me, Ill leave it here, I've got some Titans to hunt. Expand

Non existent load times for forge or traveling into instances within the world map. A large number of the games guns feel samey or unnecessary like the Guardian and The Warden. Flight is fun, if not a bit overtuned on controller, and the story's highlights are somewhere between mass effect 1 and Dragon Age 2 in quality. Titan fights can be a bit formulaic, but I found fighting Ursix to be incredibly enjoyable. I've played most of the game on Hard and Solo and seemingly have had a different experience than most, but I've generally enjoyed the game as a whole. The graphics, facial animations, voice acting, sound, and minute to minute gameplay (flying, dodging, shooting, using abilities, etc) is fantastic. You can customize your Javelin in a variety of ways. You can choose different materials for parts of the suit (which have different looks and take color in different ways) and you can change their look with any color imaginable (you don't have to buy colors like in Warframe). You can also equip different cosmetic armor pieces that can be bought thru the MTX store with real money (Shards) or with Coin that is earned by completing Challenges.

Although somewhat short, the story is great in my opinion, with lots of lore collectibles to flesh out the world. The great thing about the story is that it has a lot of room to grow as time goes along and updates roll out. The game is grindy, but it's a looter shooter. You'll be doing the same things over and over on harder and harder difficulty to get those Masterwork items. Masterwork items, in turn, are VERY powerful and worth the grind. As an example, I main Storm (which hovers a lot more than the other Javelins) and my first Masterwork weapon does 200% more damage when hovering. It MELTS.

The game does have some issues. There are some bugs (many of which were fixed with the first patch). However the devs have been VERY vocal about seeing & fixing things, more so than any I've seen before. Also, due to the game having dedicated servers, many bugs can be fixed on the fly without the need for a patch.

A lot of YouTuber's have crapped on the game due to the bugs in the demos and during it's first week live (when the Origin Premier and EA Access members got to play a week before everyone else) and have told their audiences not to play the game because it's garbage. Again, the game has launched with bugs. Mission can, at times, feel repetitive. I personally haven't had an issue with that because i'm always having fun but I can see where people are coming from with that complaint.

There are also reviews on YouTube that have been done by people that are a part of the EA Gamechanger's program. These are the polar opposite of the negative YouTubers and say nothing negative and insist that Anthem is game-of-the-year worthy. While I personally love the game, it has enough flaws in it's current state that people should be made aware of them.

I would encourage anyone that is interested in the game to watch gameplay on Twitch instead of YouTube reviews that are only going to show either the overwhelming bad or the over-the-top good. If you want to play it for yourself and are on PC, you can spend $15 for a month of Origin Premier and play Anthem for a month to see if you like it. If not, you're out $15. If you enjoy it, you can buy the game and carry on where you left off. I believe that if you buy it while your Origin Premier access is active, you get a 10% discount. Don't quote me on that though.

Hit me up on Twitter (@Skyhijinx) if you have any questions.

    TL;DR
I like it. YouTuber's hate it. Watch gameplay on Twitch or spend $15 (PC only) to try it for a week and decide for yourself.

Story and Atmosphere is awesome, this is finally a different type of game than the tired old BioWare RPG formula that i played over and over from KOTOR to Andromeda.
It will need a lot more content added to keep me playing post launch and paying for microtransactions but i think this is a solid foundation for a new Franchise.

I am not burned out on looter shooters as i didn't play Desitny or Division so maybe that is why i still enjoy this.
The Loot and progression is a bit linear, but that is fine, i'm not here for the grind but for the gameplay and atmosphere, if i get bored and move on after 50 hours that is fine as well, i do not look for long term relationships with my videogames, EA want's to turn everything into a "live service" so you keep paying for microtransactions, i as the customer do not care about that stuff, if i get a good amount of hours of fun for my 60€ then i'm happy with that.

I'm sure in a few patches most of the technical complaints won't be issues anymore.
If the content is for you or not is subjective, i got FUN and that is all i care about.

The EA BAD circlejerkers are out in force to destroy this one which is sad, maybe EA deserves this, BioWare sure doesn't.

But if anybody wants to tell me that they worked 6 years on this, no, just no. This has at best 2 years of active development in it and it clearly feels rushed, a year more development would have helped a lot, maybe they were doing concept art and world building 6 years ago but the current version of the Frostbite Engine isn't even old enough for that statement to make any sense.

Visually this game is a masterpiece. Mechanically this game great yet not a masterpiece.

Why can't we just take a game at face value instead of playing it with the expectations built up before release? 3.9? This is a criminal user score for a game that has barely come out. Every online game today has issues when released so don't act surprised when this game does to. Sometimes I honestly believe that they should screen these reviews so people who just come here to vent their frustrations don't have an opportunity to negatively impact a game. I see a lot of people reviewing from their emotions rather than from an unbiased objective viewpoint. I just hope these reviews don't negatively impact a person's decision to buy this game. I completely understand the complaints and I agree with a lot of them. Though the game is not as horrendous as people want to make it out to be. It is no more repetitive than Warframe, probably the most grindy game that has ever been developed. It is also fun, but it really is the same exact thing over and over. But somehow that is not OK for Anthem. No, there is not enough content, and they are releasing more. It will probably be released on a schedule that is more in line with normal people playing the game. But the hyper hardcore 60 hour a week players are saying well there isn't enough content here. I am not sure I have seen any non PvP game have enough content to satisfy those folks. Diablo? That is also repetitive as hell but they have done interesting things and I think Anthem can learn a lot from them. Anthem has a little ways to go. They have work to do and I hope them the best. Bugs aside, this game is really fun and engrossing if You as a gamer dont making a very fundamental mistake of comparing it to either a traditional online shooter or an Epic Bioware RPG masterpiece like Mass effect. Why? Because it is in a sub genre of its own. Being from Bioware, Everyone expects it to have a really deep and enriching story with branching dialogue and character decision Consequences that affect each and every aspect of the game. But doing that would not be sustainable or realistically possible for an online multiplayer co-op shooter as the game would have to track each and every branching decision You make and try to matchmake with people who have made the exact decisions or at-least decisions that, for the moment at-least, are aligned with your story line. And if You keep in mind that traditional branching story lines have thousands of possibilities and combinations, It would only add more load on the server, more work for the Ai, more load times(Yes, I know the current load times are also just a bit long). Not to mention the game size would also increase, there would have to be more updates to accommodate the continuing branching story if You are looking at it from an RPG perspective.
If You look at it unbiased, as what it is, An Online shooter with basic level rpg elements to give the story a sense of direction and continuity, You will have fun and really appreciate the game.
The Story, while not an Epic like Mass effect, is just interesting enough to keep You going. It makes more sense if You pay attention to and read up on the Lore, the tit bits of information You get from NPC's and the world itself.
The gameplay is fun, People have compared it to flying around like Iron man and It is. The shooter mechanics are also fun and really well made. Some people have called it repetitive but guess what all shooters are. Infact every game You take, whether shooter or Hack and slash, Especially an MMO, at the end of the day, You are running around either shooting or hacking and collecting loot. There's no different way to shoot but with Anthem Atleast, You can hover in the air and shoot, Play as storm and unleash Awesome Lightning strikes and do so much more.
Visually, this is stunning and plays so smooth. You need to experience this first hand to know how visually exciting the game world is.
Another Good thing is that Bioware have not been greedy like other devs who try to charge for everything. Note I have Not mentioned EA here as EA traditionally try to squeeze every penny from players. IN ANthem, surprisingly EA have acted a bit Civilized . In Anthem, All guns and essential items can be unlocked through progression. The only micro-transactions are focused on cosmetics like buy exotic paints or skins for your javelin. And buying exotic crafting materials.
Now coming to the Issues, Bugs, This is something that Bioware need to address. The HDR on pc looks dull and washed out. Switching HDR off really makes the game look beautiful. So if Bioware fix the HDR, just imagine how much better the game would look.
Reduced Load screens, Voice chat and server stability are other things that need to be addressed. The game however is just launched and future patches should address this.
If You decide to give this a try, go into the game free from anybody's opinions and specially free from your own bias, then You will have fun. Remember, this is not an RPG but it is definitely better than an MMO

Not being able to just go look at my load out and having to go through an actual loading screen to do so is annoying. The guns aren't as satisfying to shoot as I'd like but that could be because I'm still fairly early in the game and have crappy guns, the skills on the Storm javelin are awesome though.

I'm personally liking the gameplay loop Anthem has. There is a good base for them to build on in the live service. While there are bugs, I don't think I've encountered anything that isn't fixable. The dev's community engagement is much higher than may games. Bioware created an amazing and unique combat system in addition to a beautiful world and intriguing story. Your basic looter shooter with flying. Everyone is hating hard because "EA bad" but this is a game I've enjoyed more than 40 hours with my friends, and can't wait to see future content. People giving this a 0/10 are not giving a fair review. The game is certainly not 0.

The game is Beautiful. Flying around is great. The story, to me, was satisfactory. The game does have some issues that need to be addressed, though It's been keeping me busy since it released and will for quite a while longer. Overall I feel like the game is great and will only get better as the Devs are fast to reply to issues and fix bugs.

My experience with Anthem began with purchasing the EA prime for one month ($15). I figured that if I didn't like the game, I would just cancel and not buy it; but, if I did like the game, I could buy it 10% off.

I was hooked by the first 10 hours. There are a few bugs and the loading times were rough, but I don't understand why people are calling this an "unfinished game." This is

This is all just my opinion, but I think it has an original and epic story. Also, the dialogue between the characters is better than Fallout 4. With some NPCs, I found myself laughing at their hilarious banter and interactions; and, with other NPCs, I found myself deeply invested in their heart wrenching situations.

The world is massive and there is so much to explore. Chests, resources, and other collectibles are there for the taking if you just look into that cave on the side of the cliff or in that lake by the waterfall. While you explore, you will activate World Events giving you an opportunity to score some loot and feats. EVERY EXPERIENCE in this open world is different. The chests and resources spawn in different places, and the World Events activate randomly.

The game play is... WOW. Flying around this massive world is addicting, and fighting with so much maneuverability is both challenging and fun.

The loot system reminds me of Boderlands2. Awesome.

The day 1 patch has reduced the loading times by about 50% (just a guestament). This has reaffirmed my decision to play this game. With more patches and content on the way, I look forward to what Anthem will become.

I swear half these negative reviews were written by people who didn't even play the game. Especially the ones complaining about Endgame content. And as to people complaining about performance: I haven't had a single issue. I'm running everything at ultra and it's been perfectly smooth sailing.

I've sunk dozens of hours and counting into this game. It's fantastic. The combat is chaotic in a way that's realistic without being overwhelming and the heads up displays are intuitive. The flight mechanic just feels good. The visuals are absolutely amazing. The detail put into everything is par for the course with Bioware, but beyond what any other studio bothers with.

    I absolutely recommend this game

I am not really sure why people complain so much about this game. I guess the issues involving the story, the campaign and the loading screens do not bother me as much. All I want is to shoot and kill things in a suit and this game gives me that. I am having so much fun and I really enjoy the looter aspect of the game.

The story goes so much deeper then.

As for the issue's yes there are some, but they are being corrected quickly or have been corrected. Those that were in the early release had some rough times but as most reviews are from the day of release those issue have been fixed. Game is truly only a few days old at this point so there will be some hiccups. Bioware has a road map for new events and content coming out, not months down the road but just a few days away starting in March.

Graphics are amazing, the environment is fun just to be in and watch how it changes. And the javelins each have a different play style to suit your style. I'm truly enjoying the game and having some of the most fun with my group in years. All I can say is try the game for yourself.

Review Anthem, not EA.... I see so many complaints from people who have hardly played the game. I'm about 90hrs+ in and truly love this game. This is a loot grinder game, it's going to be repetitive and getting to the true end game will take more than a day. Luckily I haven't had any technical issues with my desktop. Luckily I haven't had any technical issues with my desktop. Sit around 65-85fps on Ultra 2k. Let's review the game and stop reviewing EA, a good chuck of these reviews don't say anything about the game and just cry about EA which makes me wonder the validity or lack of purchase before reviewing.

    Pros:
    1. Combat feels and plays great
    2. Teaming up with other players and working out gear combos makes this game have endless combos
    3. This isn't a quick to the top game, very few players can even finish content on GM2
    4. An active Dev team with open communication, this is very rare
    5. No one is holding your hand or showing you how to build your Loadout, you will need to test things
    6. GM2-3 are difficult, let's keep it that way
    7. Huge verity of stats and bonuses on gear, one good roll on an item can completely change your build, this give a good reason to re-roll (craft Masterwork) gear for new stats
    Improvements and Suggestions
    1. Add a Mini-map, it's easy to get turned around and blocking the screen with a map isn't helpful
    2. Add a Shooting Rang or Test Dummy area, allow for testing builds outside of joining groups or going through multiple loading screens to see if gear works
    3. Add more Strongholds
    4. Add the ability to view equipped gear outside the Forge
    5. Add a Character stats screen, showing totals of perks and bonus you get from your gear along with stat definitions
    6. Add in-game chat with the ability to link items for others to view

Overall the game has been awesome, a few tweaks will really polish this game up. If you are looking for instant gear and no grind I would strongly avoid this game, if you are a fan of POE, D3 and other gear grinders I would bet you would really enjoy this game. With the current 90 day roadmap that was released by Bioware I feel this game will evolve quickly and many issues that are being seen now will be gone. Final note, the story is short but left open ended giving me the hopes of new content. Time will tell, for now I am sold and will continue to play.

Want to enjoy the game? First, understand what it is you are buying into. Second, get a squad and play with some peeps you enjoy playing with. This is a team game, if you are just trying to blast through solo you will have a very choppy experience and things will be far less entertaining. Not to say this game isn't fun solo, as I still play solo and have a blast, but the team dynamic brings this game to where it needs to be. We are all 60+ hours deep and showing no signs of slowing. I enjoyed many things about the major parts of this game. I can see the hard work and detail that has been put into it by Bioware. This game is not broken, nor are we given half a world that isn't completed. Yes, some issues do deserve to be addressed and some constructive criticisms about concerns were valid in mention of some, and I say, some of the negative reviews.

But please don't forget, this is a live service game that will continuously add content to Anthem's story and world. How can some of the nay sayers miss that rather large detail. Bioware already have the plans and it is already set out for what will come next. They have been extremely transparent and open with their community of gamers. They have addressed issues already and have put out two patches in quick concession. Don't think for a minute that they won't be able to handle the pressure, that is part of their job with a live service game.

Another thing to add is micro-transactions are limited to cosmetic items only. I've seen it for myself and you can either buy Shards with RL money or you can earn coin to get the cosmetic materials or skins. I think that is a very fair system there, Bioware hasn't been dishonest at all about it, they are quite aware of the concerns about micro-transactions.

It doesn't really need more baking, it is already a really solid game, with a solid story, with the chance of DLC to be added for FREE through a patch download. What they are trying to do with Anthem is a new approach for Bioware, let them have a chance at this.

For those of you who are blind sighted with dislike for the publisher, forget EA, think about supporting the game developers here, think about what it takes for them to make the game, instead of $hitting on them because you feel disillusioned with the major publisher. I think they get the message already with some of your bombing reviews, that you really don't like them.
I bet there is a game and their company and publisher that you like, that somebody will hate or dislike for the same reasons you don't like EA or Bioware for, think about that for a minute.

For those of you who are interested in playing Anthem, but are scared to because of negative opinions and bias, please give this game a chance, with out bias influence, and judge the game based on it's own merits.

Since there is so much bombing going on for a game that isn't terrible at all, I'm going to try and help even out the user review by giving this game a 10/10.

In terms of the game itself, the core mechanics of game play are solid and are a lot of fun, the 4 suits do all feel different with each having their own play style and feel and the free play option is a lot of fun to explore and find new and interesting things on the map.
Playing with friends is good and most probably use Discord etc to communicate and so friends who can communicate well can easily co-ordinate themselves to set up combo's and triggers. The ability to customize your suits are a lot of fun and quite detailed with several layers of options.
Now since this game is new there are a lot of missions that have the same events and it is possible to hit end game fairly easily but with free DLC and updates advised so that it doesn't splinter the player base and with the method Bioware have stated they have developed the mission types into a pool system so they can just drop new styles into the game without any downtime or patching i'm pretty confident in this games ability to expand and grow faster and more successfully that either of the Destiny games did.
For anyone reading this who remembers the old game Firefall, this is actually quite a similar feel of game and is one of the reasons i'm enjoying it more than a lot of other games I have played recently.

It is not a single player game. While you can do many missions solo it doesn't mean you will get the same amount of fun as with friends or just random co-op and it is co-op with friends when game really shines.
Also, it has a pretty descent story for a shooter. I uninstalled Destiny 2 already and no longer plan to buy any additional content for it.

    What I really like:
    - World is AMAZING. I must admit I spent a lot of time in free play searching for secrets and sightseeing opportunities
    - Lore and atmosphere is done great. Especially if you are not skipping dialogues in order to rush the game in 10 hours (sarcasm)
    - Graphics is great and smooth assuming your rig can deliver (yes, game is hardware demanding)
    - Music and sound
    - Looting-shooting-flying-ability spamming
    - Verticality is a great thing! And contrary to popular belief you can (and should) utilize it to your advantage everywhere.
    - This is the first game when flanking and sniping actually matters. I can't play destiny 2 again.
    - No loot boxes, cosmetics can be directly bought with in-game currency, premium currency is for cosmetics only. Looks like BF2 lesson was learned by EA.
    - Free post-launch content. Quality and quantity is unknown, and here is the biggest IF for this game. 8 score is done assuming we will get something descent. 9 or maybe even 10 if we get Forsaken level of quality/quantity and 7 if it will be on Curse of Osiris level.

    I have mixed feelings about:
    - No romance. But after Andromeda and Inquisition maybe it is a good thing
    - Loading screen in Forge, not a big deal but its completely unnecessary
    - There is no item description upon pickup. Instead, rarity shows.
    - Content quantity. But there is not such thing as enough content in a good game :) What I really like like to see is how post-launch support would be done.

    What I didn't like:
    - Nothing

    Some random thoughts:
It is true that forge and few locations on the world map could be done without loading screens, but saying its everywhere and its a game breaker is way too much.

As for the tomb quest and multi-kills I am just speechless. Every javelin in the game can do multi-kill easily with their ultimate in certain locations. Reading how people struggle to achieve them is absolutely hilarious.

I personally like the story and characters. It is totally subjective but I like it way more than Inquisition which is considered to be a great game in terms of story telling. People comparing to KOTOR story probably remember how good it was at launch but forget how flat it is by modern standards (and buggy it was at launch). I completed it recently out of nostalgia and let's say I was sad about how story aged.

Repetitive... It is a co-op looter shooter, what do you expect? Again, compared to Destiny 2 (or even worse - Warframe) its way less grindy and repetitive. If you think otherwise please return to your forges and gambit, because I am done with them.

I created this account specifically to give this game justice it deserves and I have over 100 hours in the game already. If you are a gamer who is foolish enough, to have high expectations for a recently released game, then I'm really not surprised your opinion of the game may be somewhere in the red area. I knew it will have issues at release, it's common occurence these days. I actually expected it to have many issues after what I saw in ME:Andromeda. That's exactly what allowed me to see and appreciate the good things about it. I won't get into details about the flaws, there are many other gamers talking about them. I will instead tell you why did I fell in love with this game.

Freeplay Map - When I started exploring the map, I didn't noticed it at first. I needed time for it to grow on me, but I finally did noticed. The amount of detailing in every area of the map is truly astonishing. Whoever created this map put all of their heart into it. You have to be blind to not appreciate the amount of detail that went into it. What is additionally amazing is that there are truly beautiful views of places you can actually visit. That's something rarely seen in other games. The beauty of the map is so great, that each time I go on exploration, I feel true child's joy. There are games that have to give you a question mark on the map, to make you go there and when you do get there, you don't find much to see, because level design is just so ugly. Some developers give loot crates in such locations to entice players to explore these ugly areas, but sometimes even loot crates aren't enough, because such games may not be worth seeing at all. Anthem doesn't need that, because the map is so beautiful, it is worth exploring it on it's own, even without any reward (there are some rewards to be found nonetheless) - sightseeing is it's own reward! The map in Anthem is a true piece of art and I'm not surprised that gamers, who didn't spent enough time with this game, failed to notice that.

Overall Gameplay - Even with all it's issues, I kept coming back to Anthem. Something about the gameplay was fun enough to keep me returning to it. I played open demo and was in early access (week before world release) and I noticed some patching. Some of it was server side, so it was almost unnoticable. I noticed gameplay and especially gunplay tuning, which really made it work much better and is now much more pleasurable. Controls in the demo for mouse and keyboard needed tuning and they received it. It's waaay better now and makes the game much more fun to play. There where also additional settings implemented in day one patch, which made it even better.
Another thing is flying. Flying in Anthem frequently reminds me of wingsuit flying in real life. It really feels that way, with the only difference being the fact, that you have a jet pack, so you're not constricted to gliding. Developers promised a highly vertical map for that and trust me, they delivered. Flying alone is great fun in Anthem and this game is so much more than just that.
As of now we have 4 javelins (pilotable suits) in the game and each one is unique. They have a variety of skills to choose from and some special abillities like for example triple dodge on Interceptor, or extended levitation on Storm. I find each one of them highly interesting to play on it's own, but I do have to mention, that each time I'm playing Colossus, I feel like I'm literally taken out of Alien movie. The sounds of its autocannons, their graphical effects and overall feel of this weapon type (which is exclusive for Colossus). The flamethrower skill graphical effect and its sound. The overall heavy mech feel and sounds of Colossus. All of this and more just has to make this javelin an orgasmic experience for every Alien fan out there. It does for me!

Virtual Currency and Customization - Virtual currency allows to buy cosmetics for your javelins. Different skins for various parts of your javelin and various other things. Microtransactions are normal for games like Anthem, but what is a bit surprising about Anthem, is that it's not at all hard to earn this virtual currency by simply playing the game. It's actually quite easy and pleasurable enough to do it. The customization system is also quite extensive and allows much freedom. In addition to that you have access to entire color palette for free, which is not the case in most games like Anthem.

Great Coop with Friends - So far I don't recommend playing with random people, at least most of the time (especially when doing main story and side quests), due to various issues like bugs and exploiters who love to brake missions. On the other hand if you have someone to play with, Anthem is a great coop experience already and I highly recommend to play it.

Sadly this review reached its limit of characters. :)

At the same time, lore games from the first minutes seem deep and thoughtful. The graphics and animations are just great. But the overwhelming majority of comments indicate either the minuses in these particular areas of the game, or the fact that EA and BioWare are just going down. "Fantastic constructive comments." Obviously, the game is hating "just like that." There are no weighty reasons for this. Sometimes, you can even see negative reviews, about the cause of minor bugs, from the series “found an invisible wall”, “not enough content” ... I can agree the game has some, loading issues. But the gunplay, environments textures and story are on a grand scale. It’s easy to hate EA or any multi billion dollar studio or company, we need to stop focusing on being part of the detractors and star judging games not by a company’s past misgivings but by the merits of the work they put in. If this was a game published by any other studioI can agree the game has some, loading issues. But the gunplay, environments textures and story are on a grand scale. If this was a game published by any other studio it would have half as many negative reviews.

The story is epic but it starts as any hero’s journey. But we have to be reminded there are only 7 types of story to be told. 7 Types of Stories: Which One Is Your Brand Telling?
Overcoming the Monster. This type of story goes back through Beowulf to David and Goliath and surely a lot further than that. ...
Rebirth. A story of renewal. ...
Quest. A mission from point A to point B. ...
Journey and Return. A story about transformation through travel and homecoming. ...
    Rags to Riches. ...
    Tragedy. ...
    Comedy.

This being said it’s extremely hard to fit a narrative to an epic world set in a sci-fi world with out falling victim to certain tropes. If you can find legitimate flaws in this game please I implore you to address them. I am not a fan boy or in anyway affiliated with any part of the gaming industry. I am a gamer with a mind of my own.

Anthem deserves more than its current score. Sure, it could have more content but games like Warframe and Destiny 2 have had years of development. So for an initial release this looks great, the mechanics are fantastic too. Such an enjoyable game with friends!

I hope people look beyond its 'EA' label and not just jump on the hate bandwagon.

After a while, suspicion sets in: perhaps EA doesn’t believe in BioWare anymore, and had them release not only unpolished, but basically unfinished product to cut losses and avoid another total rework. [Issue#237, p.44]

It's obvious that Anthem didn't have enough development time, but had some great potential. It's a real shame, that everything turned out this way. Even now, the game can bring out positive emotions. Hasty climbers have sudden falls. No matter how ironic this proverb may seem, it's incredibly relevant for Anthem.
