HeathN.Jun 14, 2005Great graphics..easy interface but gameplay becomes dull . campaign mode is ridiculous merely wave upon wave of enemy to beat with tiny forces of your own, usually half the oppositions..not at all like actual battle.

SidB.Jun 21, 2005Beautiful graphics and game play. If you like tabletop wargaming this is for you. The game computes all the weapons and movement effects, no hit record sheets involved. It's fun to watch your finished battle over in movie play. On the short side Skirmish mode needs more soldiers and the campaign is locked in and you are only allowed to play one side in each battle not both.

MarkD.Oct 21, 2005I wasn't sure what to expect from this game. I found quickly that i did not like it at all. I've played Risk games that went faster with drunken people playing. Campaign mode is terrible.

My last civil war title was "Sid Meier’s Antietam." Antietam may have taken some liberty with the authenticity license but it was real-time, easy to grasp and exciting to play even for a novice. Unfortunately, my experience with ACWG did not measure up to that classic.
