Introduction: At the outset I must add that I started playing this production after I got acquainted with another production of this studio - Synchronization. And the level of Synchronization and Akern Fern is incomparable. I mean Synchronization is a new game, even a new opening of the studio, because it's a newer game. And this game is some kind of demo sample. And unfortunately an unsuccessful demo sample... Synchronicity I definitely recommend (I gave a 9/10 rating there), and Akern Fern itself, well....

The plot: It's so bad that I don't know where to start... Generally it could not be there, because it does not bring anything, but Visual Novel without any plot does not make sense... But now I learned that Visual Novel even with a hopeless plot does not make sense. The plot from the initial theme of school life evolves into something... exactly - into what? What we have here is a mix of paranormal phenomena, SF (Nano gloves - WHAAT?), bad romance, ala scooby-doo and neo-Nazis (lots of hidden motifs, like main characters' black armbands, school uniforms - uniforms, headmistress' mother's speech and some other elements). Nothing sticks to the whole! The plot looks as if its author put himself in the main role and wanted to have such an adventure while curing his complexes, but this adventure is out of place... In this adventure we have the pleasure to experience such delights as: 1. scenes from the life of the school council (resembling in many ways the Nazi party with its Hitler in the form of the headmistress's mother) 2. Jesica (the one with pink hair, apparently they call her Tatiana) who bewitches us with her look like a cat in heat. This character looks like a creation: "the perfect girl" for the main character (if we juxtapose this with the fact that the author of the script is the main character, it doesn't look good...) The ambiguous descriptions of scenes/conversations/graphics don't help. E.g. a passage from the game: "She shook off my chokers and took a step towards the girl standing in front of us", and before that the character zooms in ambiguously and changes her tone to equally ambiguous.... Conversations are overlong, terribly tedious, and add nothing to the story. E.g.: The first conversation with the cultists - a tragedy. The whole thing is varied with unfunny jokes on the level of a junior high school, e.g. addressing his buddies as dogs. . And then there are the plot choices - or rather the lack of them. The author must have taken Sasin's example and didn't make his choices at all... In the second game from the same studio (Synchronization) it's done much better, but the whole plot is much better there... You can see and feel that this project was created by someone else. It's good that there is no such situation in the new production, but let's agree - it would be hard to create something worse than this. Let's wait, maybe the same author will create something else, and the second part will be even worse than the original. If it were possible, I would give this a failing grade, and I think I will leave it at that. Rating -11/10

Graphics: Mostly stylistically it's ok, keeps an even level. It is not crazy, but it is ok. However, there are other problems with the graphics... They tried to add "animations" to the characters: "animations" were tried to be added to the characters, so that e.g. our fictional Jessica (apparently they call her Tatiana), can approach us ambiguously (grr, I feel bad just thinking about it). Sometimes it's funny how in a serious scene characters start flying, appearing and rotating like in a power point presentation in junior high school (in my opinion totally unnecessary animations, only worse). Additionally, the characters are not scaled up and sometimes take on different sizes (from shrunken to sizeable degenerates) which stings. Rated 3/10 (Only because there is stylistic consistency)

Music: It's okay, although mediocre music can't save a hopeless game. It feels like akern Fern is an older game from the studio, and there is much room for improvement (such as the lack of additional ambient sounds) - Rating 4/10

Dubbing and dialogues: It's not crazy because the dialogues are not crazy either. The dialogues are shallow, which makes the actors' acting shallow. Or rather - they didn't have a chance to play better. Rating 5/10

To sum up: I feel that the time spent on this production and review will not be returned to me, but I wrote this to warn others who would come here from other productions of this studio.
