The big draw here is the inventive Necromancer class, which is just heaps of fun, but both the two new races and the range of smaller changes, like the new options for a peaceful victory, are smart additions that will make Age of Wonders 3 feel fresh again to even the most jaded player. Take note, developers; this is how you do a good expansion pack.

Despite a slightly shallow and at times boring campaign, Eternal Lords expansion hits the spot in skirmish mode, where it matters the most. With more playable races, and more strategic options to choose from, this makes for a good expansion for an already great main game.

I can’t imagine any AoW fan could ignore this meaty DLC. [06/2015, p.57]

When all is said and done, Age of Wonders III: Eternal Lords is an easy expansion pack to recommend. It applies a new coat of paint to the series that is good for another 30+ hours of addictive turn-based gameplay. If you wore out the core game and the first expansion pack, then Eternal Lords is good enough to entice you to dust them off again.

Eternal Lords game brings an inexhaustible quantity of new choices between good and evil; war and peace; between life and ... "afterlife". New content with a necromancy touch makes the third AOW installment one of the most attractive strategies on the market.

A deep and rewarding time sink but a difficult one to initially get into.

This expansion's only real weaknesses are those endemic to the structure of the base game, but Eternal Lords is a worthy follow-up and fresh take on the classic turn-based strategy game formula.

In the end, this scratches my Necromancer itch pretty nicely. You feel like you’re raising the people of a nation to serve you as undead, and becoming an immortal god-mage in the process.

Eternal Lords is a canonical expansion with one new class, two new races, and the usual handful of added features. If you loved the main title you may want to check this out, otherwise there’s probably nothing here that will change your mind.

The expansion brings 2 new interesting races, 3 new specializations, the dark necromancer class, random events and lots of new places and other stuff. But for me is the new race relation system with the new race governance system (talent bonuses) and politics improvements the most important improvements. This expansion brings so much more content that it is well worth the price. Full Review »

Triumph studios have managed to take the feedback from the community and make a game that is troughly remarkable. Not only the Necromancer class, Tigran race and frostlings but for me especially the alignment and race system together with vassal cities and extended diplomacy makes this games so much better than anything else. I love multiplayer but do not have the time to sit for hours behind my pc. The play by email system is just the right thing for me. Full Review »

Also, the two new races, Tigrans and Frostlings, add a great deal of synergy within themselves, and even more-so with the other base classes. THats not even the half of what has been added to this expansion(You know, the things that used to be chock full of content that actually added a vast amount to the games, instead of 15 dollars for one new character like most games >.>). If you loved the base game, as well as Golden Realms, then this is a no brainer. For those on the fence, or looking for something different, I believe Eternal Lords may be the breath of decaying(in a good way) air you've been looking for. See ya in-game! Full Review »
