I played the 2nd one and decided to buy the original. it was very good. the graphics were good. the building-soldier proportions were off alot. the combat it good and i loved the buildings and campains. buy if you like real time strategy.

Just made my review for Ages of Empires (1997) game. This is no different, except that they have Rome in addition to Egypt, Greece, Babylon, and Yamamoto. The Rome stages are just like other ones, and that's great!

The first RTS i played as a child, imo it's the best RTS ever, but if i have to fair i'm going to give it a 8 because of the poor path-finding that is game breaking at certain times and the completely unfair broken campaigns. In some of them you barely manage to make 5 clubmen and the enemy drops a ship with like 10 elite units from the last age. GG good luck with that. A worthy expansion pack to Age of Empires, which adds more to see and experience. Overall, a great addition but with a very challenging campain in some parts.
