The GOOD: Smooth launch, fun combat, great graphics, easy addiction (not sure if that is good)... The BAD: Still many glitches to work on, very simple UI, some parts of the game feel unfinished.. but I'm sure they will be ironed out in a month or two. Warning to WoW players tho: above average PC and player's IQ needed!

Excellent game. If you're like me you'll spend the first day or two thinking "well wow has better than this", "why's there no LFG system" etc Persevere, it's all there, plus some, yes it's a different game and in some ways Wow is better, but in others this far exceeds its predecessor (plus, it's early days and much better than Wow was at launch). WoW it isn't, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Also there's the fact that they instance many locations when they get busy (to lighten the load, reduce lag etc in each one). Not one instance per person/group, just one per 100 players or so, which still leaves places crowded. This seems odd at first and can leave you hunting round for a friend for ages if they're in a different instance but at the same place as you and you don't realise, though there are functions within the game that help t sort this sort of thing out. On the plus side it allows you to switch to a different instance on a PVP server where someone is hellbent on stopping you complete your mission (PVP servers are open season for gankers, travelling in groups is advised!). Though the game world is twice the size of WoW it is also zoned, which means you have to travel from one to the other via a loading screen (a bit like the boats, gnometrain and airships in wow). This is where it lost 1 point for me (though I was still tempted to give it a 10). The zones themselves are often huge though and I the zoning was done for performance issues, it does seem a little awkward at times (but I soon get used to it). Most of the locations in the game are physically remote from each other so that explains some of the zoning but others are less obvious (e.g. the Nobles Quarter of one city is in a different zone to the rest). It depends how much this matters to you, for me the other good points soon outweighed this one minor flaw. I don't want to appear too negative here, to me these are minor points, I just want to prewarn the Wowers so they know what to expect in advanced! A very cool game, i saw my first mammoth rider today, THEY ARE HUGE! ;-) PS a new patch came out today which gave a much needed 50% FPS boost. My 2gb, AMD 4000+ SC, 7600GT 256mb system can now manage between 10 and 40 FPS on reasonable detail and 600m view distance, which is nice. Expand

Simply put: While not as in-depth as a traditional MMORPG (ie: LOTRO), Age of Conan has, by far, the best graphics, combat and music out of any MMORPG. Period.

After 3 years of playing WoW this game has most certainly grabbed me, and continues to impress as Funcom irons out a few quirks and adds even more content. Don't listen to all the bashers, pick it up and give it a try, it's well worth the price of admission even if you don't decide to stay. I've fallen in love myself.

Sorry for the length, but I feel like doing a full review on this game because i feel that AoC deserves far more recognition than it already has because of the massive amount of bugs upon release, 99% of which are now fixed and the game is far superior to any other MMO i have played so far (Incl WoW)

This game, after playing WoW for 2 years (and 2 years on private servers prior to that), offers a far better experience than WoW. There is far more blood and gore and the fatalities are just an incredible aspect of the game, even when someone lands a fatality on me i sit there and go WHOA and both my arms get lopped off, followed by my head, while my friends have a good laugh at my scenic and brutal death ^^

The game is hugely PvP oriented (if you dont like ganking, go on a PvE server, it can get very annoying for some people), however i am in love with the whole PvP idea and huge battles can spring up in the space of a few minutes, 20-a-side wars that are only too fun :) The classes are rather balanced, however Rangers and Necromancers especially can deal massive damage at a long range, making them very OP in ganking situations :( The PvP takes A LOT of skill (coming from someone with a WoW rogue with 27k HKs of experience) and is certainly not for anyone not up to learning game mechanics and persisting through a lot of failed pvp battles, hence the fact that 90% of AoC players are very mature and adult, offering a far friendlier and happier community than WoW's large community of helpless 12 year olds because you just simply have to be mature to play it, else fail :D (I'm not saying that there arent some great people in WoW and plenty of skill required, but after playing AoC, you'll see what i mean ;) )

The graphics are uncomparable to any other MMO, especially now that DX10 is released, my 8800 handles everything cranked to the MAX and the graphics are just stunning, the water is interactable with people and objects, and so does the grass, plus ambient occlusion/godrays/water caustics just make this game very very satisfying to look at, on par with crysis in certain locations.

Raids are very easy and bosses are tank and spank for a lot of the time, which kinda annoyed me a bit :/ however gear is no where near as important as in say, WoW, because PvE/P is based largely on skill. Raids, however, are quite atmospheric and awesome simply because of the enhanced graphics and lighting as well as certain very cool ideas by the devs... i did a solo instance once where the floor had traps and spikes came out of the ground etc when u ran over them, was very fun :) However, i will say that raiding is better in WoW because there are far more tactics and cool effects used.

Cities and landscapes are perfectly formed in AoC, looks like they took something out of a photograph and remade it, whereas in WoW they used rounded brushes to create topography (mountains, hills etc) which has a very unrealistic effect, as well as the same buildings being cloned into every settlement >.<, and the lighting, well sucks. In AoC, the sun moves across the sky in dynamic day/night cycles and if you watch long enough, your shadow, the trees' shadows, buildings' shadows etc move across the ground with the sun, which, IMO, looks awesome and Hide (Stealth) takes advantage of these shadows in real-time, which can be used to a rogue's advantage (there are 3 rogue sub-classes), for example they are far more effective at night because Hide takes into account light levels (including the advanced shadows), awesome! :D

Leveling is very immersive compared to other games, quests have audio talking connected to them and you can select what to say to the characters, rather that one-click quest accepting where nobody reads the quests at all like in WoW, and the only objective is "kill x of y" or "collect x of y" or "talk to y". In AoC (especially in the first 20 levels) each class has its own destiny quests where you find out your identity etc, which is continued throughout the next 30 or so levels, for example the barbarian (rogue subclass) one has a very 'Splinter-cell' type effect involving missions to eavesdrop and assassinate at night, with a far more immersive effect than "talk to marshall mcbride... kill 10 kobold vermin" (WoW human start quests) as a start quest, followed by more of the same.
The overall leveling in the game is just more fun and you have to actually think about the combat as you attack in 3 different directions (5 at level 40) which are chained together into combos, much the same in spellcasting/ranged classes, because the opponent has 3 shields that he can assign to any of 3 different directions (default is one per side, you can change to any number on any side upto 3 total) to reduce or block incoming damage from that direction, requiring a lot of knowledge of combos from different classes, AI and players alike.

The game has certain flaws, such as the fact that you cant fight back if someone ganks you while interacting with an NPC until you hit Esc and by then you're probably fighting a losing battle, and the fatalities sometimes bug if you are moving while they execute, and that the ganking is enough to make ANYONE rage at some points/areas *cough* Noble district *cough*, but all of the original graphics bugs (playing on low with 20 fps for example on release) have been fixed entirely, i have already said that i play with everything ticked and all sliders maxed very happily and playably on an 8800, and athlon x2 6000+, nowadays a standard gaming rig, fps anywhere from 15 in the laggiest loading areas to 50+. Classes have been well balanced for the most part, and more balances to come, but most deaths are simply lack of skill and experience.

DO NOT buy this game if:
    You hate getting ganked
You have no skill/do not wish to spent a lot of time getting it (because you will)
    You only ever raid
    You are 12.

DO buy this game if you:
Love PvP (world pvp and capture the skull = win)
Love ganking (even being ganked is fun, its hard to explain but the graphics + random fatalities just make me laugh every time i die :D)
You have skill/are willing to try your best to get good
    You are mature
    You love hacking limbs off
You have a similar/higher spec pc than mine (you will not be dissapointed)
You have 32GB of free hard drive space :D

Most of my guild have quit WoW for this game and, although both have their pros and cons, all of them agree that the PvP and leveling gameplay is just far superior and are much happier here, this game deserves recognition :D If you have the maturity and patience to learn the game mechanics, this game is just awesome. Buy it.

Quite simply, this should have been in the developers hands for a few months more. I mean the differences are so huge and clumsily designed that it's kinda hard to believe that they launched it like that... They can't possibly have tried the PVP themselves. I stack (at level 69) 50-100 Daggamalt and the same amount of Sweetpressed Haste and is basically untouchable unless ganged or maged. PVP with same class turns into a dragged out event where the outcome is determined by who forgets to pot =). Also there are some major issues with your characters implementation into his/her surroundings with a large possibility of getting stuck in the most trivial of objects. However the unstuck function works pretty well. Better than WoW in any event, where the unstuck option is a complete farce. This will all be fixed though, which is why it's not too bothersome but still worth mentioning. The pros far outweigh the cons in any event. The construction of the guild city is marvellous and if you play on RP-PVP like me it really reinforces the feel of the game. The quests are enjoyable. Grinding levels is no problem as long as you make sure the mobs are 3-4 levels above you at all times so you get from 2-3K exp /mob or more if you chain-kill them ofc. This will be a great game in a short time. If they manage to fix the annoying pvp issues that is... Expand

The first 1-25 levels in Tortage are my favorite, I don't think you'll find a game that combines the immersion of a single-player RPG with that of an MMO anytime soon. Too bad the same thing can't be said after you leave Tortage. Still, that doesn't make it any less fun. If you the exploring part in an MMO, then you'll love the sights and sounds of Stygia, Aquilionia, and Cimmeria. The first thing I noticed when questing are how the adventure zones actually have a lot of people in them, you don't feel like you're questing in a ghost town, which makes it specially fun if you rolled on a PvP server. The classes are fun too, where else would you get a two-handed sword wielding, demon transforming mage?, this is what makes the Herald of Xotli my favorite class so far. It's a hard class concept to pull off in a game like this if you ask me, and Funcom did it briliantly. Currently I'm leveling a Necromancer to get Ritual of the Lich, a spell that turns you into an undead archmage. If you're expecting a bug free MMO at the first months of it's release, then good luck on finding that game. AFAIK, all MMOs have a rough time at the beginning. You can either wait a couple of months till they iron out most of the issues, or with a little patience have a blast experiencing a new MMO. Expand

Decent MMO. I leveled a character up to the maximum level and played around with a raiding guild for a while, but ultimately I stopped playing because it was just too similar to World of Warcraft which had a lot more content at the time. The graphics are really the only revolutionary thing in the game. The combat system is something that belongs on a playstation not a PC MMO. Quests are decent, but there's not enough of them. What I more want to talk about are the cons: the game is a MMO, yet a big part of playing the game is doing quests with NPCs so its a hybrid single player / multiplayer game. Yes others can join you in your quests but only if they have the prerequisite quests completed. Most other players are on different quests, too, so they don't want to join you usually. For PVE gameplay, this is a single player game with other people running around in it. In my opinion, it's not a truely focused multiplayer game for PVE (player vs environment). The game user interface needs improving. Also my character targets group members and not the hostiles, which is stubborn to get him to target back onto the foes. Also you'll see really great looking equipment being worn by NPCs that you can't get or use. Maybe that will change with new patches and updates by Funcom. Right now the servers are experiencing hacks that affect everyone connected. I think this is their top priority. Another con to this game is that the quests send you back and forth in the same area so much that seeing the same scenery over and over gets old. There are no dynamically or randomly created areas like dungeons so the scenery in this game gets stale. If you like MMORPGs then you certainly need to check out AoC, yes! But it has problems and I'm currently questioning its longevity. The first few days I played this I was in awe but that is now wearing off because I don't like seeing the same place over and over and over again. Just to advance out of the starting town (Tortage), you must complete one specific quest (Destiny) but there are many quests to do. Its not clear which quest you must do to escape Tortage. I think you must do the Destiny Quest in single player but I'm not sure. After 35 hours of gameplay in Tortage just trying to escape it, the town felt like a prison. I used a hidden quick-escape quest to get out of Tortage and I don't want to go back. Potentially AoC is a legendary game, but I don't think its there yet. Time will tell. Its a rather linear game for being a MMO. Is this linear and quest based gemplay a decision by funcom so that they can bring it to the masses on the x360? I don't know for sure. Expand

I'm not a a PvE fan, I much prefere PvP MMOs with risk involved. AoC PvP is a joke while RvR Siege has potential you have to be at the end game first and getting there is too much of an xp "grind fest." PvE "Raiders" may like this game but if like me you prefere PvP orientated MMOs then you'll be very disappointed.

Meh, not sure why some of these so called "veterans" of MMOs would rate this so high. How do you figure all of this hasn't been seen before. The game is basically a mix of every MMO out there. There are no social activities to speak of - no real reason to interact with other people unless you're sharing a quest. I started on a PvE server but switched to PvP due to the boredom. And now, I'm getting bored of that as well, as PvP essentially means "ganking" in this game. And as much as they claim to be focusing on PvP rewards and punishments, nothing exists as of yet. I would suggest buying the game and using the first 30 days free to play through the rather enjoyable Tortage Island (levels 1-20) with a few characters. Great graphics, sound and gameplay. Downside is if you order the Collectors Edition you may have problems getting into the game in the first place as they shipped with bad codes. Service support was good on launch day (Friday) but non-existant on Saturday, which is pretty poor for a new title being released on Friday.

The game is still in its infancy, even after 5 years of production we are seeing memory leaks, broken quests amongst other things. The combat as a melee character is fun, it can turn the tide of a fight should you get the combo wrong, quests are fun but the grouping lets itself down as you cannot see party members until they are very close to your position ( if you can't see them at all make sure you are in the same instance )., though is fun when it works. The developers have thus far ignored a lot of players complaints never replying to them despite threads going on for over 40 pages. If you are entering this and favour the caster expect nothing different from lotro or wow, its still target and click, bar the healers who tend to cast an AoE heal. The game has real potential not only in PvE but PvP with player built cities and insane combat it could rule the roust, but as it stands its a buggy mess and no end of nice graphics, heads flying off and boobs will change that, give it 6 months and this could be a winner. If your looking to expand your character by combining different builds and talents - this game isn't for you. The talent trees and class balances are absolutely terrible. Well on release date I went out and got it and it has so far been the biggest dissapointment i've ever had. The graphics, while better than most RPGs in its class, are still lacking from what I expected. They are as un-interactive as every other RPG and they feel unfinished. Dont expect something like Assassin's creed or Crysis here even maxed out the environment seems to have the bare minimum to look good at a distance but up close in personal theyre ugly, bland, and blurry. The UI is obnoxiously large taking up about 1/5 of the screen on a 1680x1050 resolution and very innefficient. Though i will admit the character models and voice acting were superbly done while theyre not perfect they are the best looking thing in the game. The combat system is annoying. I was hoping for something like oblivion or hellgate london instead they decided to replace the more common spell cast keys (1,2,3) with directional swings which was ok at first until you tried moving while in combat. Overall it was boring though, everyone died the same way, no ragdolls, no physics, some AI even keep talking like from cutscenes even after theyre dead and the controls are clunkier than two worlds (and if you havent played two worlds, DONT.) They have some bugs to work out (which is to be expected) and Eidos is notorious for taking a great concept and ruining it somehow. It could've been so much more than was and while the graphics will improve over time the gameplay and inability to customize your UI wont. Expand

If you're lucky enough to avoid the bugs and not get bothered by the crude interface flaws, then I'm sure this can be a good singleplayer experience at least. Travel is HORRID. Quests. I'm not a big quest fan. If you don't like questing this game will probably do you in. If you do like questing, then the first 40 levels should be easy sailing. Ease of use/playability - I think this game is fairly demanding on resources and somewhere in the middle as far as compatibility with all rigs. Many users have configurations it just doesn't like or work well with. It most likely will require tweaking and adjustments on the part of the user to run good fps. Graphics - I give it pretty good marks on graphics. I'm more a fan of these type of graphics than WoW style graphics. I think they did a good job on the looks. Stats don't work, class abilities are bugged, class imbalance is pretty bad(somewhat expected), and hiding/perception seem broken. You can't be attacked by melee in the water. Just a huge list of odd problems that i don't have room to go into. In closing i would say the game is unpolished, unfinished, and just didn't grab me. I'll be setting my hopes on warhammer and giving that a try when it comes online. I hope my 50 bucks helps pay for some coding and fixes so that the die-hards that stick with AoC get some enjoyment out of it. In the end, the UI and lack of a good social interface made it too frustrating for me to play past level 30. I didn't even have a desire to play an alt, since there's no way to send items to your alt except trading it to another player. Expand

They tried to implement fatalities. This game is just a clone of WoW meets console game meets Mortal Kombat. I saw a level 6 ranger fighting it out with a lvl 18 barbarian and won. They were fighting for like 10min. WTF? The combat system requires you to press a skill i.e.: "cyclone" so you press hotbutton 6 and then immediately after that press a corresponding key of 1,2, or 3 depending on the skill. Then it executes said skill. Oooo WOW. Amazing. I guess they just didn't want people to fall asleep at the keyboard hitting one button for one skill. Come on, in 5 years can't they come up with something better? Is it fun? Not really, I just button mash everything and the mobs die. After 5 years they should have tested this game some more or just scrap the project. Should have kept it in beta with all the bugs. For example, 1)we left a dungeon instance and when we returned to the world Tortage all the mobs were max lvl at lvl 20 including the starting areas. 2) Game crashes upon exiting. 3) Other times you can't invite people to your party for some odd reason. 4) Some times when you're in combat you get stuck all of a sudden but you can see everything going on around you. The mob can hit you but you cant hit back. I'm still playing till my time is up and discovering new bugs every day. The good thing about this game I guess would be the blood and gore. Taking heads off was interesting but gets repetitive. Boobs, how many times can you salivate before it gets old? Great music but a bit repetitive. Granted the game is only 7 days old since the Live launch so bugs are expected. I wouldn't mind some bugs...even WoW or Lineage 2 had problems in the beginning. The disappointing thing about Conan was that after 5 years you would think they would come out with something innovative in terms of gameplay and a user friendly interface with a good map. I seriously doubt they thought about the user friendly side of things. Its so frustrating to see where your group member is cause of a tiny dot and its only noticeable when they are close to you. Where to go for quests was easy enough with the question mark and exclamation mark like WoW. Going to the quest destination was simple cause they marked it so that was good. Everything else was way too complicated they put too many things on the map. I don't know how people gave this game a rating of 8+. They must have been won over by the graphics. Anyways, people should try this game at a friend's house before wasting money. I apologize for this rant cause I really expected great things from Conan and was very disappointed with the end result. The mini-map is terrible for tracking your party members and almost worse for finding locations of quests. The quest journal is not well laid out. The larger maps show NO party members at all and you would like to use the larger maps since the mini-map can't be resized and is as small as a quarter on larger wide screen monitors. My score of 4 may seem demoralizing but it's my personal belief and is not necessarily a view shared with all other players. My score of 4 may seem demoralizing but it's my personal belief and is not necessarily a view shared with all other players. I will explain my MMO background, what I like to see in MMO's and why, over-all the pro's couldn't outweigh the cons. First of all, AoC features amazing graphics and beautiful landscaping. These features make for great screenshots (definately useable as desktop backgrounds!) and an overall very immersive experience, for a while. I'm a fan of graphics, but I'd say there is a greater appeal to more casual-MMO gamers than to a self proclaimed veteran such as myself. The graphics are quite system intensive and to be honest, I really can't afford an extra $800 worth of system content to be able to pump the graphical settings higher for gameplay (though I can manage to turn them up for a screen shot if necessary). The combat system is very original. This is a pro to many, to me it's... okay. I don't mean to be negative towards unique ideas because I think they are very progressive in the evolution of games. I want people to know that the combat system is something that needs to be experienced, but generally speaking it wasn't for me. I felt like the defense stacking and directional combat/combo system made me react in different ways based on my opponents defenses, but otherwise speaking I generally was fighting the same way regardless of many other factors (this seems to be a problem in many MMOs recently. Each fight comes down to similar mechanics and not to call-and-response, think-on-your-feet ones. As a little background knowledge, Im a big fan of fast-twich, do-this-move-now-or-you-won't-have-a-chance-later type gameplay (think... spell interruption in WoW or war-spell dodging in Asheron's Call, or Missile Repelling in L2, etc etc.) I felt that I was focusing more on my melee offense in conan than I was on tactical defense (the defensive utilities available are not useful in my opinion. Double tapping to dodge still gets a hit landed on you.) I have not tried magic classes, so I will not comment or adjust my score positively or negatively based on that factor. Crafting is a big part of the game, I like the way crafting works, the instanced world and the extent of how immersive your creations can be. It's a positive for crafting happy people. As I recall SWG tried to make it so that the game didn't have to play combat oriented all the time. People could specialize in non-combat careers like dancing and could enjoy social aspects of the game. I feel the crafting here is... faster to lvl not entirely a gameplay experience all it's own but it definately fun while you do it (remember that you need to lvl a bit before you can jump into it though!) The story is captivating, but I must be honest that I never got into conan before and so none of the names and most of the world doesn't relate to any seeded memories. It's cool anyway but a story can be depleted and eventually will run out leaving me with gameplay to carry me. Overall if the game weren't an MMO it'd get a much higher score, but I feel I must grade it based on one of the most key factors of MMO gameplay. and that's it's Lasting Appeal. I can't see myself playing this game much more than a couple of months. AC, L2, SWG and WoW had me playing for over 6 months, AC and WoW for over 2 years each! The bar keeps getting raised higher and higher and AoC has definately raised the bar for elements of MMOs but sadly, not for lasting appeal in my opinion. If you have money to spare, go try it out. Plenty of people swear by it and needed a new MMO experience after WoW burn-out syndrome. The MMO market is becoming more competative and I'm glad I bought the game to support that market evolution, but I won't expect to be a part of this game when the release of other MMOs such as Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, The Chronicles of Spellbourne or Pheonix Dynasty Online are released. - Paul Forte. World of Warcraft is indeed easy if you have a high-level character walk you through the instances, but if you don't "cheat" and actually run through the dungeons at their intended levels , for example: running the DEADMINES with a level 14-15 group (Yes... it's possible) You will find that there is plenty of challenge in it. The combo system isn't as much a combo system, but a self pressed auto attack. For a combo system to be effective it needs to require some reaction time...sadly AoC's combat system requires none. Honestly though even a mess up on the combo system can be overlooked assuming the other aspects of PvP are good. This is just not the case with AoC. I can't begin to understand why the game developers decided that moving around in PvP was something to not focus on. Anyone who is serious when it comes to PvP can tell you that movement, and positioning requires more involvement from the player which in turn makes the PvP more in depth. Any PvP that requires you to stand still to be at all effective is sad. Yes you can move in AoC, but it is laughable at best. So if you're looking for no-skill click fest when it comes to PvP combat AoC is pretty promising. Now what about the other aspects of the game? Well for starters the graphics are absolutely amazing in some areas while terribly bland in others. For example the cities are amazing in design and in looks. but some of the outside areas are better suited for 2D Models. Now the world PvP is a gank fest on a PvP server which is something I've always found exciting. However whoever thought of the graveyard idea had to be an idiot. Take a PvP combat system that requires no skill and have everyone spawn at a few choice graveyards placed in an area and you have a nubfest. People like me can grief a person forcing them to exit the game and come back another time. When you die you can choose different graveyards assuming you've explored an area. Seeing as how I grief most people when they're stuck loading into the zone they really aren't given a choice as to which graveyard to choose. Upon resurrecting they have half life and can only resurrect in one place... Yeh that system cant be abused at all... Anyways thats my perspective on just the PvP aspect. Sadly this game did not deliver and I was desperately hoping for it be a great game. Sorry to those who enjoy this game but I cant go along with the hype. Expand

This game should not have been released, and Funcom manipulated the gaming community with its highly polished newbie area.

If your a Pervt or Pedifile and like nudity, this is the game for you.
Graphics are on par with EQ2 however Game play is tedious with its Attack/defense combo system. The nudity has gotten out of control in the game. The old addage, just because they can do it, doesnt mean they will, doesnt apply here...

Putting a "MATURE" rating on the game has not stopped children in the slightest. The game has drawn pervs and pedifiles from arround the world. It was fun during the beta, but once opened to the public at has turned rotten.

Funcom had a few things done well in the first 20 levels, but unlike the vast majority of the "professional" reviewers, I actually played past that and into level 55+. I found the game to be far too buggy to play without recurring frustrations, and Funcom's customer support is very poor. Hopefully the game will improve in the next few months, but I am not terribly optimistic Funcom had a few things done well in the first 20 levels, but unlike the vast majority of the "professional" reviewers, I actually played past that and into level 55+. The Good: Very beutiful environment, realistic characters, unique classes, unique combat, lvl 1-20 some of the best designed content in any MMO The Bad: Released too early, only 6 styles of armor, buggy patches, poor QA, not enough testing, sieging broken, tradeskills are a joke, Out of memory, grey maps, 4k-10k lag spikes are too frequent, no class balance

This game has some major technical issues to overcome. The game engine is buggy, the graphics engine requires (REQUIRES, I say) the latest GPU to run smoothly, and the upper level content is lacking. This game is still undergoing beta testing and debugging: there are still screenshots of players-PLAYERS, mind you, getting debugging messages to their chat window.. Now, the plus. The first 20 levels are very well done and polished. The graphics are nothing short of incredible at times (There are some spots where it is worth throwing all your graphics options on high, accepting the 2-3 fps rate just to play tourist), and the first time you get a "Fatality Move", you will be impressed. After the 50th or 60th, it loses its appeal-especially if you are fighting 4 to 5 other mobs at the same time, and are frantically hitting keys trying to keep said mobs from slaughtering you while you're twisting someones head off.. All in all, I'd wait. It has potential- in 6 months or so. Expand

  1. This game marks the next generation of MMOs in many ways. It looks good, is very entertaining and plays very well. This is a journey well worth taking.
  2. It won't put WoW out of business, but then again, nothing will for a long time, and that doesn't mean this isn't a great game with tons of appeal and a hopefully more mature audience

Age of Conan going forward should become a delightfully savage second home for plenty of howling on-line barbarians.
