Deeply atmospheric and profoundly disturbing, 2Dark presents a seductive mix of lo-fi Hitman-like stealth coupled with Hotline Miami claustrophobia induced adrenaline rushes. The presentation and initial pricing will not be to everyone’s taste but for horror fans, here is one to remember.

Alone in the Dark's creator is back to the horror genre with a stealth puzzle game full of gore and gloomy feelings. The idea is nice but flawed with some technical issues.

The creator of survival horror delivers a very unique blend of stealth-action and surreal adventure. It is not as groundbreaking as the original Alone in the Dark, but still deserves a look.

Frederick Raynal's new game is a pretty good re-imagining of the genre he spawned with Alone in the Dark. 25 years later, this 2Dark focuses on human deviances while stepping away from the traditional blood bath and supernatural stuff. A pretty good game that still creeps players out.

2Dark is a compelling horror game that tackles some truly horrific subject matter. But cheap deaths and uneven level design hold it back from being truly great.

Dark game in the hostile environment of the Gloomywood town from the creator of the Alone in the Dark game. Although it does not achieve the prize for technical style, its playability and sophistication will easily conquer you.

Alone in the Dark's creator is back with a nice old-school looking game with an amazing atmosphere.

If you enjoy a good horror with a bleak tale – and can stomach seeing pixelated children in cages or mauled by animals – then 2Dark is definitely worth checking out.

The creator of Alone in the Dark, Frederick Raynal, crafts an interesting mixture of stealth and horror. Despite an unreliable IA and some frustrating gameplay elements, 2Dark is a well-made twisted noir which take the player in the depth of a rotten and dark town: the infamous Gloomywood.

Disturbing, violent, gloomy, 2Dark is a nice old-school looking game with an amazing atmosphere. Those who love survival and stealth will find a truly decent challenge.

2Dark is a game that clearly knows how to build an atmosphere, but seems a bit confused when it comes to using it to actually frame an engaging, compelling game. The whole experience seems to be caught in a sort of limbo between being a stealth, top-down action, or point-and-click experience, and fails to do be any of them exceedingly well. A bit of re-focus to clean up the gameplay and narrative a little would go a long way, though it will be perfect for that niche market looking for a Taken-inspired plot of cartoonish gory stealth adventure.

2Dark’s call back to old 90s horror games is nostalgic, though it comes with all the issues of the games from that era. There are certain expectations from modern games for mechanics and controls to feel intuitive and goals to be well communicated. The interface quickly becomes unmanageable as the inventory balloons and invades the main game space. Having full access to your inventory and combining weapons on the go sounds like a clever concept. That is until you’re in the throes of gameplay and the thing you need is indistinguishable from the junk you have collected. The overall game experience suffers due to this, but if you’re fond of 90s horror games like Alone in the Dark and the original Resident Evil, then you’re likely in for a treat with 2Dark.

No amount of noir stylings and serial killers can save this clunky game. Too bad — the idea itself was good.

Level design is cramped and unfair, the controls are imprecise, the interface is from a completely different genre of game and is extremely cluttered and unhelpful, and the whole thing is just painful. 2Dark is extremely frustrating, extremely badly designed, and extremely not fun. I’m glad it wiped my saves. Avoid.

It's your typical indie horror game that can't actually achieve any sort of atmosphere but hey at least youtubers will play it and scream like banshee's for that sweet ad money.

The devs are **** too. They took kickstarter backers money and used it to had Denuvo to the game. I really hope they like wasting all that money though with CPY cracking the newest version of it so fast.
