Admittedly, even though the story is linear, the world in which it takes place feels very alive thanks to the cheerful characters saying various quips, but also thanks to the various texts you find and learn more about Silesia in 1428 as you read them. [Issue#322]

1428: Shadows over Silesia is a very good adventure game, an unexceptional stealth game and a frustrating action game with some traces of an RPG. I enjoyed its engrossing dark story set in medieval Europe with magical elements, distinct atmosphere, great music and very difficult (yet logical) puzzles, but unpleasant combat and other flaws sometimes turn Shadows over Silesia into a chore.

If it was a straightforward story-driven adventure game, Shadows over Silesia would’ve been much better. As things stand, the wonky combat system and annoying stealth knock it down a few pegs. Still, the story is great, as is the unconventional setting and professional voice acting.

The game is worth supporting, just make sure it's the right title for you. However, there will still be a worm of doubt whether more could have been done in everything. It is not a one-pot or simple matter. It requires full concentration and a bit of patience.

Sadly the bad controls totally failed this game I was been excited for. Great story, good music, terrible UI. Maybe next time...
