Jun 22, 2026With flawless pacing and poignant voice acting, paired with a captivating story full of intrigue, The Drifter goes above and beyond all expectations. The novel twin-stick control scheme makes playing with a controller surprisingly comfortable, a first for a point-and-click adventure game, while purists can still enjoy mouse mode using the Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con. The art is beautiful and stylish, the music appropriately brooding; The Drifter might be the most polished and expertly crafted adventure game of all time.

Jun 23, 2026The Drifter, from developer Powerhoof and Dave Lloyd, is a point-and-click adventure that stands out from most modern games in this genre. It brings brilliant control design, a thick narrative that can be felt, and all the right gameplay elements to make the game an impactful experience.

Jun 22, 2026One of the smartest, funniest, darkest and most refined pixel art adventures comes to Switch 2, and it feels made for Nintendo's handheld.

Jun 22, 2026The Drifter is an enjoyable point and click adventure with an unmistakably Aussie feel. Mick’s sci-fi conspiracy romp will keep you engaged for a good eight to ten hours, which can fly by in a good way. This Switch 2 Edition comes with the benefit of mouse controls, giving players two really good ways to play this game. Point and Click Adventure fans should consider this a must-have, and anyone looking for an interesting sci-fi story should check it out too.

Jun 22, 2026The Drifter demonstrates how a great story can still make all the difference. Powerhoof has crafted a gripping interactive thriller that maintains high tension from start to finish, thanks to quality writing, well-balanced puzzles, and a consistently engaging narrative pace. The experience is further enhanced by excellent pixel-art visuals and audio, surprisingly cinematic direction, and superb Italian localization that makes it even more enjoyable. It stands out as one of the most successful and memorable narrative adventures released this year on Nintendo Switch.

Jun 22, 2026Fantastic storytelling, solid pacing, quirky characters, and a good dose of self-referential humour make this experience highly recommendable, even though the Switch 2 version doesn't quite manage to recreate the seamless interaction that PC players must have enjoyed.

Jun 23, 2026The excellent pixel art and voice acting are nothing compared to the excellent pacing of the story. The Drifter is essentially a narrative game, with puzzles taking a backseat to the action. It's a shame the narrative tone is so clunky, and I'm one of those who didn't necessarily enjoy the concept.
