Star Wars Outlaws Gold Edition is an incredible port that delivers smooth performance in addition to a formidable level of detail and impressive ray-tracing effects. With all the game’s significant downloadable content included at a fantastic value price, this is a must-have experience for any Nintendo Switch 2 owner.

Star Wars Outlaws is a wild space adventure. It feels like a part of the Star Wars universe as opposed to just trying to shoehorn Star Wars into a mismatching game. If you get overloaded on big open-world games, that is still a risk here, although finishing the game isn’t dependent on getting too bogged down either. Star Wars Outlaws is another great game to show off what the Switch 2 can do when devs get the opportunity to make it work for the hardware.

Star Wars Outlaws arrived on the Nintendo Switch 2 after a lukewarm reception in 2024 but positively surprised in this version. Despite some graphical downgrades, the port stands out by using technologies such as Ray Tracing and DLSS, delivering impressive visuals on the handheld while maintaining a stable 30FPS performance. Even with the reduced population density compared to the PS5 and Xbox Series versions, the game ranks among the best ports ever released for the console. The only major disappointment lies in the physical Key-Card edition, which still requires a digital download.

Star Wars Outlaws on Nintendo Switch 2 is more than just a great open‑world game, it’s one of the most ambitious Star Wars titles ever to land on a Nintendo system. It’s a labour of love from Massive, built on an understanding that the heart of Star Wars isn’t just in blasters or lightsabers, but in lovable characters, high‑stakes adventures, and worlds that feel worth exploring.

The Star Wars Outlaws port shines on Nintendo Switch 2 with technical quality that rivals other platforms, offering the appeal of being able to play anywhere, and with better results than on devices such as Steam Deck. This port raises the bar for what Nintendo Switch 2 can do, even if it is at 30 fps.

It’s a very good port, is what I’m trying to say – and not only that, it’s a very good port of a very good game. Whatever issues Star Wars Outlaws may have had last year, they’re all fixed now, which means that you get all the positives from the first version (a good protagonist, a fun story, some big open worlds), with all of the negatives pushed off to the side. If you didn’t get a chance to play the game the first time around, now is definitely the time to do so.

Star Wars Outlaws is an amazing port and yet another proof that next-gen ports are far superior to what we got on the Switch 1. With stunning graphics, fluid gameplay, and stable FPS both in docked and handheld modes, this Ubisoft masterpiece delivers an incredible open-world experience set in the Star Wars universe, between Episodes IV and VI of the beloved sci-fi franchise. The game features a dense and vibrant world full of activities, borrowing well-executed elements from series like Tomb Raider and Metal Gear Solid. It’s a standout title on the Nintendo Switch 2 and an incredible experience for both longtime fans and newcomers alike.

This edition shines with an impressive technical adaptation, stable performance, cross-save support, expansions included, and thoughtful use of Switch 2 features, although it still carries over issues like weak stealth AI, dull space battles, and some dated animations, making it both a top-tier portable experience and a reference point for future ports despite its lingering flaws.

Star Wars Outlaws Gold Edition on Switch 2 delivers a surprisingly smooth and complete experience. Despite some visual downgrades and a 30fps cap, the game runs impressively well, includes both major expansions, and adds intuitive motion and touch controls. Storage limitations and the mandatory Ubisoft account are drawbacks, but overall this is a robust and highly enjoyable Star Wars open-world adventure on the go.

This isn't simply an assassin's creed in a Star Wars coating. Outlaws carves its own path. It can stand among the lineup of not just great Star Wars games, but third person action games in general. It may not be revolutionary but what it does, it does so incredibly well. Back when I played it last year, I was already entertaining that particular opinion but revisiting the game on Switch 2 has convinced me of this. It's a shame that Outlaws was overlooked last year, but perhaps now it is time for a reappraisal of what Star Wars Outlaws is, rather than what it could be. I am genuinely of the opinion that in ten years we'll look back at Star Wars games and go: “you know what, this Outlaws game is pretty fantastic”. Just know that you've heard it from me first.

Star Wars Outlaws doesn't excel in any particular area, but it's still an unforgettable open-world story.

An action-stealth adventure set in the Star Wars universe that delivers solidly across the board without aiming too high. Nintendo Switch 2 handles this version effortlessly, providing Star Wars fans and newcomers alike with an epic story made suitably memorable by its blend of classic mechanics for this genre.

Star Wars Outlaws is a very solid title for fans of big, open-world adventures. Although the Ubisoft open-world formula can feel a little too familiar, it still fits well in the Star Wars universe. Even if some of the systems feel half-baked, the combat and stealth feel good enough, especially if you strictly play on Nintendo consoles. An open world that doesn't go into the expected Star Wars tropes is always welcome. The presentation pushes the console without devolving into a broken mess, and it's a good showcase for the system's capabilities.

Outlaws continues to impress even on less powerful hardware. This is the way.

With its wide, lush and consistent open world settings, missions with different gameplay approaches, gorgeous art style, exquisite soundtrack and effects, and an overall very competent performance, Star Wars Outlaws is a unique opportunity to experience an uncommon take on Star Wars based on survival and deception, rather than on brute force. Compliments where they are due, this game was treated like it deserved.

Star Wars Outlaws has done a truly excellent job with its Nintendo Switch 2 port. The game offers the opportunity to play with Xbox Series S performance on the go. Details like achieving a stable 30 fps and the graphics being visually stunning in places demonstrate just how successful a port it is for the handheld console.

Star Wars Outlaws Gold Edition is an interesting release right now. With all its patches and updates later, Star Wars Outlaws itself is a much better game, but it still has some issues. If you haven’t played it before, Star Wars Outlaws Gold Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 is a great package. If you already own it elsewhere, cross progression makes this an easy double or triple dip with how well it works. I can definitely see myself dipping into it on and off over the coming months to not only check out the updates coming, but also explore the world with such a fantastic portable version.

Unexpectedly, especially given what was shown at the beginning, the port to Nintendo Switch 2 has turned out to be almost outstanding. Of course, the game remains the same, for better or for worse.

Star Wars Outlaws is a great port and a welcome addition to the Nintendo Switch 2 library. While it sticks to the tried-and-tested Ubisoft formula, it still delivers plenty of memorable moments in a beautiful open world. Other versions may run at a higher frame rate and feature sharper textures, but this iteration works incredibly well on the hybrid console – enough that its shortcomings are easy to overlook. If you passed on the first opportunity to delve into the seedy underbelly of the franchise, then this is the perfect opportunity to live out your scoundrel fantasy in a galaxy far, far away.

Star Wars Outlaws is in great shape on Switch 2, and if you haven’t played through Kay Vess’ adventure yet, this is a perfect time to do it, especially when you can take it on the go with you. Wherever you play, Outlaws deserves another look.

Star Wars Outlaws for Nintendo Switch 2 is a great adaptation of an ambitious title that launched with some issues. It's not the most visually impressive version, but it is the most versatile. Being able to enjoy such a large and detailed open world in a portable format, together with the exclusive features on Switch 2, is a remarkable technical achievement.

Star Wars Outlaws on Switch 2 is a very fine port of a solid Star Wars game. Kay Vess's story may over-utilise tried and tested gameplay mechanics, it may not bring anything new or hugely exciting to the table, but what it does do is give you a well-crafted world stuffed full of lore through which to explore, sneak, and forge your own path. With solid performance and good looks in both docked and handheld, and motion controls and cross-saves thrown in for good measure, this is an easy recommendation for Switch 2 fans of Star Wars.

Star Wars: Outlaws on Nintendo Switch 2 is not just a well-executed port but a technical and symbolic statement. It proves that Nintendo’s new console can host modern AAA experiences without embarrassing compromises, standing alongside high-quality conversions like Cyberpunk 2077 and Street Fighter 6. Ubisoft delivers a benchmark release that doesn’t chase more powerful consoles but asserts the platform’s technical dignity in the competitive landscape.

Star Wars Outlaws on Switch 2 offers the full scoundrel package but it’s undeniably a step down from other platforms. Visuals take a hit, performance is capped, and smaller frustrations like restrictive saves feel more pronounced here. Still, the heart of the game remains intact: tense stealth, shootouts, dogfights, and the bond between Kay and Nix. If you have access to PC, PlayStation, or Xbox, those versions deliver a sharper and smoother experience. But for players limited to the Switch 2, this port is a serviceable—if not definitive—way to live out your outlaw dreams.

Depending on how you look at the Switch 2 version of Star Wars Outlaws, it's either a subpar version and a disappointment compared to other formats, or it's a technically impressive feat that almost shouldn't be possible. Both of these statements can be true at the same time.

Star Wars: Outlaws brings its open-world experience to Nintendo’s hybrid console, including all previously released content. It’s not a perfect adaptation, with some noticeable technical compromises and performance hiccups. Still, if you can look past those flaws, it’s an enjoyable experience—especially in handheld mode.

A remarkable port for one of the funniest and more interesting open worlds of the last years. The Ubisoft game looks amazing on Nintendo Switch 2, with a great performance and interesting features, like the gyroscopic controls or the use of touch screen. [Recommended]
